  1. You might like this as well. It has a Jiffy Dos BIOS fitted to speed up the loading times as well. And in the garage Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. Now do the same for R7R4 Before After Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. You do not join R7D3 and R7R4 together If you look at R7D3 it should look like this You need to link the 2 solder pads. Before After Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. By reflashing the TSOP chip it will do the same as a modchip. What game do you have to softmod with? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. Hello Madnessunc Welcome to ogxbox.com I would flash the X2-5035 bios to the Version 1.0-1.1 When you say the wav file's do you mean the start up sounds? What size HDD have you fitted? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. That's good news that you now have 2 working mod chip's The clock caps will still leak even without been used so I would reopen the xbox and check. Next set to reflash a TSOP on a version 1.0-1.4 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. I am going to say no as the SPI-2-PAR is taking a stream of Data from the OpenXenium and a stream of Data from the LPC bus so 2 lots of Data. When it comes to LCD screens I have used a slightly smaller one that's a lot easier to fit from eBay Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. That should have worked but lets try this one iND-BiOS.5003.67.bin You may need to put this config file on the Xbox as well I can't remember if it is on C drive or E drive try both. ind-bios.cfg I normally use a x2-5035 BIOS but it will not fit on the modchip but it will fit on the TSOP on a version 1.0-1.1 To recover the white modchip you need to do a hot swap reflash. Boot from the red mod chip and the load your BIOS flash program and just before you say yes to complete the flash unplug the red one and plug the white one on the board then say yes to flash the bios Let me know if it works. 9. It's a addon cooling fan Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. Flashing the BIOS while the Xbox is exhibiting intermittent booting problems is not something I would do. Intermittent problems are the worst to find and having worked if the electronics repair industry sometimes the customers description and the actual fault are not the same. It is sounding like bad caps you need to take some voltage measurement when it working and then compare the same points when it not booting . The red wires should read 5 volt (4.8-5.2) The orange should read around 3.3 Volt The yellow is a 12 volt The gray is 3.3 volt at al times (Xbox running, Xbox in standby) The blue should have around 3 volt(2.6-3.3) The white is approx 3 volt when the Xbox it running. Also the version 1.2-14 power supply will not work without a load on the output supplies Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. Are the caps near the 20 pin power connector on the main board in good condition? Maybe post some pic's of the power supply and the main board? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. Good to see that 1 of 2 the chips is working. Try this BIOS x2.4981.67.bin The white chip may be fixable if you want to try? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. Super simple do fit 1st add a link on the modchip like in the pic. That tells the mod chip to always be on Leave the white white wire where it is now Now plug the chip on and it should work. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. The R7D3 and R7R4 are 2 separate links and are not connected together The link you put on R7D3 and R7R4 is to tell the TSOP chip that it can have a new file programed to it . You say you have an Aladdin modchip it might be easy to use that in this Xbox as you need to add 1 link on the mod chip and then plug it on the Xbox board. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. Remove the short pice of white wire in the black circle. And it best not to run the wire though that hole it's for a screw to hold the board down. You do not connect R7D3 to R7R4 All you need to do is solder the 2 points in this photo. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. What happens if you power on the Xbox by pressing the Eject button? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

Thanks Have you had a look inside to see what's made the loud popping sound? Capacitors by design will all fail as the electrolyte that makes up the capacitor drys out over time and even the SMD(Surface Mount Design) caps fail be it not as often but they still fail. In the version 1.6 if fit a modchip and then the clock set can skipped in the BIOS and the other versions can have the BIOS reflashed to bypass the clock set as well. 18. I think you looking at the wrong part. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. What has been done to the Xbox? Green/Red Flashing Problem: The Xbox will restart twice, and then flash red and green. This is known as the FRAG and can be caused by many reasons. Typically when you receive this error you will not have any video. Possible reasons you may get this is a bad bios image, a bad bios chip, the Nvidia MCPX chip is damaged, broken/damaged traces or solder splashes on the motherboard. Fix: If you were doing any kind of soldering work (adding a Modchip or other type of mod) on or around your motherboard, make sure there are no solder splashes or that there are not solder bridges connecting any traces. If there are, desolder them. If you have not done any kind of modding to the unit, then its likely to be caused from a bad tsop image, or a bad chip. Try installing a Modchip to see if you can get the unit to boot. If the Xbox still gives a FRAG then it means another major component is bad and the motherboard needs to be replaced. 20. Yes on R7D3 there is 2 small points the need to be soldered together and the same for R7R4 on the top. The Xbox will still boot as normal at this stage Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. Ok the wire I have circled in red needs to be removed from that point and extended so it can reach the other side of the board. And on bottom side you also need to add a link to R7R4 as marked On the top side of the board you need to add a link to R7D3 and the wire that has been extended from the bottom now gets soldered on the yellow dot. Now you can refit the board with 1 or 2 screws. The 2 links are to enable the TSOP chip to be flashed and the wire is from the D0 point and if the wire is soldered to the board the Xbox boots from the mod chip and with the wire disconnected it will boot from the on board BIOS. Next step Have you softmoded a Xbox before ? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. Can you post a pic of the bottom as well Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Just post a pic here of the main board. The BIOS checker app is a waste of time. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. Cutting the LFrame trace is up to you I tend to cut the trace then not worry about the D0/LFrame wire from the chip. The theory is that damage to the MCPX chip and or the Xyclops chip could happen if the Lframe is held low for to long, The Open Xenium mod chip will only pull the Lframe low for a short period when needed and the rest of the time it's not been controlled by the mod chip. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. Red/orange can also be a be memory failure, Pin11 is a signal to the Xbox PSU to turn on 2.6 should be fine. Possibly give the main board a good clean with isopropyl and a toothbrush. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
