  1. A few quick questions for Rredherring32. Do you know which specific PMICs that Team Resurgent PSU is using? Do you have any real world objective measurements of what you claim? Is it all subjective eyeballing from pictures on reddit? Can you see the inner layers of the board (if there are any)? I'm genuinely curious. I can critique a PCB design too, but unless I have the board, or gerber files, or the board in hand I can't know with any certainty what's going on with that PCB. I doubt anyone can objectively.
  2. This is a little project I worked on from October 2024 to January 2025 with help from Skye and HoneySoakedSegull. Original idea by Siktah (he had been nagging me about this for a year). Before anyone comments or asks, yes this just transfers the solder skill requirement from the repair person to the board assembler/merchant. This isn't something everyone needs, and I think it's rather pointless, as I just do my own trace repairs. That being said; not everyone has precision soldering equipment, not everyone has fantastic magnification to do their solder work, and not everyone has the effort for traditional front panel trace fixes. Without further ado I present Hugin and Munin trace fix cards and the D0-ET board. Siktah and I entered these as an exhibition entry into Xbox-Scene Modfest 2024: https://www.xbox-scene.info/articles/xbox-scene-modfest-2024-celebrating-homebrew-innovation-and-the-modding-scene-for-xbox-xbox-360-xbox-one-and-xbox-series-x-r54/ The boards are to be used in pairs, 1x Hugin (A) board and 1x Munin (B) board per repair. all 1.0 and 1.1 boards use one set of boards, all 1.2-1.6 boards use a different set. They require a 25cm ish 0.5mm pitch, 4-pin flex cable to jump between the two boards, and you only enable the trace repairs you require on the Munin (B) board. The flex connector must be folded 90 degrees one time to for the contacts to like up correctly. The red front panel LED is the least likely trace to fail, but it also doesn't have nearby "friendly" test points either. So a wire going from the RED pad on the B board to an alternate test point on the motherboard will be required. Unfortunately some boards don't have an easy to solder test point for the Red LED, so it may be easiest to solder right to the SMC. I am currently writing up install instructions and gathering fresh board images for every board rev. Here are some early "quick and dirty" images for 1.4 and 1.6: I made the FPC connectors quite large to support a huge variety of connectors, though I do include documentation on the bottom of each PCB for the needed resistors and a compatible FPC connector. You can also use top only, bottom only, or top+bottom FPC connectors as long as you use a "reverse direction" flex cable with one set of contacts on the top, and one set of contacts on the bottom if you use top or bottom only FPC connectors. As an added bonus, EqUiNoX repeatedly requested a simple, multifunction D0 board. So alongside Hugin and Munin I designed D0-ET as part of this set. Aside from protecting your D0 point from accidental damage from pulling on a wire the D0-ET (pronounced duet) has 3 possible functions: grounding out the D0 point directly giving a larger pad to solder to, to connect to a modchip with a simple D0 pad like an OpenXenium, ModXo boards, or an X2 / X3 wire harness giving a JST-SH 1.0mm 2-pin connector to connect directly to a modchip like Xenium Ice, Xenium Gold, or various ModXo boards An earlier (less well fitting) revision of this board can be seen installed on the 1.4 motherboard picture above. I am finally learning more about git and specifically github with the release of the Skeleton Key branded USB adapters (based of xbox7887's USB adapter, with support, permission and an overly permissive license). https://github.com/OGXHarcroft/Xbox-Skeleton-Key-USB-Adapter The gerbers for all 5 of these boards are already on the Xbox-Scene discord in the Modfest channel as of roughly 6 months ago and some sellers have already started selling them.   3. Currently sold out. The last one went to TronicsFix! Hopefully he can put it to good use. I'm not planning on making any more unless there's a huge demand again. I'm still planning on designing a lower cost model with more features with dtomcat. That's currently in the backburner though.

That will probably cost the same or less than getting a heatsink from a 1.1-1.6 console.

Any N channel mosfet with the same pinout, in that package, the same voltage and equal or higher current rating should work for your needs.

  7. Two power supply projects are either complete and public or nearly ready for sale. You'll have to pick what works best for you but your wait is almost over. I have been testing 2 of Andr0's PXU prototype units and they have been performing well. He has made at least 2 new revisions to improve them further.

I'm fairly sure Sylverez wrote up a guide about it sourcing the info from the article above when PrometheOS launched.
  9. No. I am happy to assemble a separate tool for TSOP flashing and frankly I have for a few people. Skeleton Key is the toolkit for people's first entry to Xbox modding. TSOPing should require some research. It also requires physically modding the motherboard. New users aren't going to have that critical knowledge to understand how to configure a TSOP mod.
  10. I'll expand the digiex post with more info from the readme early next week. Skeleton Key's menu is a modified PrometheOS Tools menu and it features tools like XCAT launcher, The Insignia Setup Assistant, Testlaunch's Controller Test, Memcheck, Rocky5's softmod installer, and the upcoming Xbox Disk Over Network by Eaton of FatXplorer fame. I asked and was given permission to use all the currently developed applications. Many of the developers from those applications either helped with advice or provided size reduced versions of the apps to fit on an 8MB Xbox memory unit. Help from EqUiNoX, Crunchbite, and xbox7887 was absolutely essential to make it possible at all. An updated version of xbox7887's low cost USB adapter board with Skeleton Key branding will be posted next week as a branch on Github. I will be handing out some of these USB drives and adapters preloaded at Midwest Gaming Classic this weekend!
  11. As long as the BOOT SEL button is being held down while the PPSD powers up it will go into programming mode.
  12. Make sure the power switch is flipped to LPC. Plug the USB cable into the PicoPromSD's micro USB port. Hold down the BOOT SEL button while flipping the power switch to USB.

  14. It's possible the connections to your modchip are oxidizing or wearing out. Check continuity with the back of the PCB vs a pin header inserted into the modchip. Check continuity with the front panel connections. Try some contact cleaner or deoxit.
  15. Congratulations on completing your one of a kind project! A couple of questions: Did moving to a full flex PCB solve your lockup issues without loosening up RAM timings or slowing the cycle frequency? Does 128mb with 4 of these on a 1.6 console work with your patches? I understand the cost will be higher but do you see this as a viable easier 128mb install for 1.6 boards? Thanks for your hard work!

  17. My new batch of PicoPromSDs is in. I'll have 1/2 the batch tested and ready for shipping tomorrow. The rest will be available a few days after that. Shipping to North America only for now so as to not interfere with LonWay Tech in Europe. Despite increased cost my prices remain the same. 1.51H has identical functionality as previous versions. The only differences are redudant traces for buttons, and a bunch more unnecessary ground stitching. Expect updated gerbers including a new BOM to solve the shortfall issues with production at JLC very soon.

  19. I am keeping one in reserve in case a customer has a failure. I'll be happy to sell it in a few weeks if no problems are reported. There's also someone in the UK trying to assemble a batch by hand but he hasn't had time to work on them yet and I'm not sure if or when he will have time any time soon.
  20. The first batch of PicoPromSD 1.5H has sold out. When I have time (it's going to be a while) I'm going to focus on a further cost reduced, but also feature reduced, the absolute barebones cheap variant of PicoPromSD as discussed with dtomcat. I personally recommend the 1.1 or 1.5H for the formactor, feature set and build quality, but if you want to build one for the lowest price possible, that design will be coming.
  21. My batch of PicoPromSDs has sold out. I am keeping 1 in reserve in case anyone has an issue with theirs, this one will be available in a couple of months if no issues are reported. I am also giving away one on Friday January 17th on the Xbox-Scene discord if you missed your chance and still want one. Unless there is massive interest I don't intend to do another batch, though if people need pogo adapters I still have parts for those.

You can technically pull the HV syncs between the GPU and video encoder but no BIOS is really setup for video modes like that yet. https://github.com/professor-jonny/Xbox-AVIP-mod That board is setup to sent out the syncs the way you're describing but there's no supporting software yet. For now the best bet is using an external sync splitter. I do have a board I need to start producing that does sync splitting and adds a video amp, I just haven't had to get it out yet.
