  1. If you're using EvoX M8+, then open your BIOS .bin file in EVTool, change the default boot path to wherever you installed XBMC4Gamers and reflash your TSOP with the new .bin. Make sure you also uncheck the "DVD Drive Check" option in EVTool, because it's retarded to have that enabled.
  2. Just keep formatting it with XBpartioner until it works. It doesn't always work right away. Try formatting in a way you don't actually want and then reformat it again back to how it is in the second image.
  3. No. Not having to lock the HDD is one of the advantages of hardmodding.
  4. The build in that link is outdated now, so feel free to delete it. Weird. Must just be something screwy going on on your end. I've occasionally had odd issues like that before with WinRAR as well.
  5. No. A stock Xbox can't boot burned media.
  6. I couldn't give you statistics or anything, but it does seem as though the most common revisions are 1.6 and 1.0.

  8. iND-BiOS supports no DVD drive and EvoX M8+ can as well, as long as it has been configured to (it does in this version of HeXEn), but I don't know about the other BIOSes, because I don't use them. When no DVD drive is connected, the boot animation will be super laggy/choppy and I know that the UnleashX dashboard will be too at first. I've never tried it with XBMC, but have heard it has the same effect. Games should not have any issue. I wasn't the one who actually made the hex edit to the .xbe (it was JCRocky5) and I don't remember for certain if that issue was addressed, but I want to say it was because from what I remember, the entire reason he came forth with that edit was because some people were complaining about that problem on the subreddit last year. I don't have 250 different games/app to test it with, but I can say for certain that it no longer creates a UDATA folder for installed .xbes until you actually launch them. Which is great just by itself, because I personally hated having all those empty folders cluttering everything up and adding a bunch of empty save icons in the UX save manager.
  9. Yeah, don't play games via the disc. Ever. Really bad idea. These DVD drives are old and unreliable and frequently die these days. Always, always, always play games via the HDD and preserve the DVD drive in case you ever need it in the future to run a recovery disc.
  10. The Aladdin comes pre-flashed with a 1.6 compatible BIOS, so that's not the issue (though it still should be reflashed because the EvoX M8+ configuration it uses is pretty bad). The L-Frame trace definitely needs to be cut, so that's not the issue either. It must be either the wiring, or some solder splashes somewhere. 1.6 installs are very finicky.
  11. Not sure if it's related to the issue or not, but the extra wire that you have soldered to that screw plate is unneeded. Maybe try it without that?
  12. Indeed. We gotta save these Xboxes from the mindless masses that will surely kill them.
  13. You can get Splinter Cell on eBay, Amazon, or anywhere else that sells old games. But if your HDD is dead, Splinter Cell isn't going to fix it. Your options now are to extract the EEPROM and use it to lock a new HDD to the motherboard, or install a modchip which will bypass the need to lock the HDD, and then just format a new one with HeXEn. Installing a modchip is extremely easy to do. I haven't had the need to extract an EEPROM yet, so I can't say from personal experience, but that too seems to be pretty easy due to PiPROM. Also, since your Xbox is a 1.2, you absolutely must remove the clock capacitor immediately, if you haven't done so yet.
  14. That video is specifically for a 1.6 installation, which is very different from the installation method for all other revisions. This video should not be followed at all if you are trying to install on a 1.0-1.5.
  15. ^ Yes, you'll always want to reflash an Aladdin chip after installing it because the default EvoX M8+ configuration that they come flashed with is not good.
  16. The Aladdin chips are not hard to find at all, and yes they work with every Xbox revision.
  17. As of HeXEn 2018, the DVD drive check for EvoX M8+ is now disabled. As for the HDD support, the F only version should be fine for you, since you only have 1TB. You only need a G partition for a 2TB HDD. Of course, you can always still open the file in EVTool anyway to completely customize it to your liking. Like removing the ugly EvoX logo from the bootup animation, for example.
  18. Accidental double post. (Why can't we delete our own messages?)
  19. You have the official component cable set in that box. That provides the best possible picture you can get with an Xbox. No need to fuck around with those inferior HDMI adapters. And I'm not sure what you're talking about. TSOP flashing is a lot easier and quicker than installing a modchip. Also, remove your clock capacitor immediately. You should not still have that thing in there. It will leak and destroy the motherboard.
  20. You need to reflash the Aladdin XT PLUS2 modchip after installing it. The BIOS that comes pre-flashed to that chip is EvoX M8+, which is a fine BIOS, but the default configuration for it is terrible and does not support the larger HDD partitions. It also forces the need for a DVD drive upon boot, which is a pointless, retarded restriction. You'll want to create a new configuration for EvoX M8+ that disables the DVD drive check and enables larger HDD partition support and then reflash your chip with the newly created .bin file. Use EVTool to create a custom EvoX M8+ .bin file.
  21. Any reason why this site's local download page for HeXEn 2018 is listed as "Pending Approval"?
  22. What revision did this Xbox come in? Only once before have I ever heard of a Samsung PSU. They seem to be ultra rare.
