  1. This is an option to install an additional dashboard after you has setup the HDD using set up HDD. Nothing more. So you have one option to keep you games and get it up and working. Set up C+E only to keep your games. Default dashboard after that will be unleashx. Then you can either flash a bios wich points strait to X4G or you flash an cec/cee bios which boots C:\evoxdash.xbe or E:\evoxdash.xbe. After that use the switch dashboard option to copy the shortcuts. EDIT. BTW. it looks like you use a super old bios (LBA48 info not found) which maybe search for something which is not there and also didn't support extended partitons.
  2. First of, what you have there is an X-Chip (Plans, firmaware etc. download : https://1fichier.com/?feoloeoptc392wugj385 ) The doughter board is the programmer port which is usaly extern because of easyer programming. I have downloaded your pictures and cant see any obvious singn of damage. Also the caps are looking good which doesn't mean they are. The caps in front of the CPU are notorious to fail even you didn't used your xbox. So what I would do is, even they look good, I would replace em and see if that fixes the problem.
  3. Check the caps in front of the CPU.
  4. Do you use a 80 wire cable or the old 40 wire? What type/brand is your new HDD (WD Green)?
  5. This was the one I ordered : https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B071RWPBGG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8 These are the ones I use : https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07SJZL6W3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8 Maybe it is possible that the slims are working with a SSD, didn't tested that. How ever, I would not recommend the slim adapter.
  6. The 0xdab0 is for SST49LF020A and the W49V002A also because, they are the same chips according to Warlocks post in his form : https://htmh.de/forum/thread/41-sst-49lf020a-49lf002b-flashen/?postID=1690 (Maybe he's wrong) HeXEn states : Flash = 0xdab0,"Winbond W49V002A",0x40000 and Warlock names the same value for SST49LF020A. And I found that : https://mechaman999.proboards.com/thread/101/type-aladdin-chip The MAYBE only chance to flash those FAKES with the xbox is (I guess (HUGE GUESS!)) if some with the right skill could rewrite/change Sunday flasher or xflash (source code available) for example or raincoat FAKE CHIPS SUCKz
  7. Yes they are different (Even they have the same pinout). flash = 0xbf52,"SST SST49LF020A",0x40000; flash = 0xdab0,"SST SST49LF020A",0x40000; flash = 0xbf57,"SST - 49LF002A / 49LF002B",0x40000; There is a topic in a german board about that problem and here on ogxbox are also 2 or 3 of them. BUT I assume that the modchip is old. SO maybe someone swapped out the old SST in the past? You are not be able to flash that chip with evox or xblast because of the miss match. The only option is to flash the SST with an external programmer. Sry. SAME ON ME! Mea culpa Kaos. Mea maxima culpa.
  8. They don't work in a XBox. I had one of those from Amazon to test, never got it working.
  9. I would guess you need an XBox Dev Kit, SDK/XDK, Visual Studio.NET, C/C++ knowledge, time to read tutorials, more time to read manuals, a high frustrationslevel, a truck load of coffee (nothing in the IT works without coffee (Basicly rule no.1)) and I guess many things more.... But should TheXbox Messiah not now such things?
  10. WHAT? You broke my installer? Shame on you. *Just kidding* Could you take a picture please? I mean, for normal you can set up the HDD on the PC with FatXplorer (And it format right away without errors (So no need to reformat anything like when using the DVD). Eaton did a great job there. So the only problem is to flash the Aladdin with the right Bios. So what I would do now is, pull out the HDD again and format it on the PC. Copy over all files from the C and E folder. Then check C:\BIOS. There are already 2 bios files in that folder. Rename the " EvoXm8plus.bin " to " bios.bin " After that shut down the XBox (No DVD in your drive!) Power up your XBOx. UnleashX SHOULD boot up. *Hopefully*. From there you can launch XBlastOS to flash the bios (IGNORE) the masse shown by XBlastOS unsupportet ModChip in the main screen. Go to the flash section and flash the bios. IF that fails. Boot with the Installer and browse open the FileExplorer and go to " E:\Apps\XBlast" and launch the xbe file from of the HDD. And if that fails als well you could try to launch EvoX of your HDD and try to flash the HDD. The only problem which I guess could happen is, that the chip is still write protected. Maybe, if you have set your chip to always on, like Dave wrote, you can also try to flash the chip again of the Installer DVD.
  11. I hate it but you are (let's try to avoid the word wrong) not so right like me. He can format the HDD without the need to install XBP to the HDD. Launch XBP of the DVD - Lower the size of both partitons a bit and format it and reboot. Launch XBP of the DVD again and max out the partitions and format it again. All errors should be gone For normal Dave post that, ;D and it's written in the read files no one reads and in the info boxes everyone seems to ignore. XblastOS should flash that chip just fine when you go to the flash section. The bios should be in C:\Bios and named bios.bin (C:\BIOS\bios.bin) How ever, EvoX should flash that thip without any problem as well. I also checked a ModChip table I have here and it say's that the Aladdin Live has a write potection mode which must be disabled. And if I remeber right you do that with the power button. Quick Push - Chip is off. 1 or 2 sec the chip is on Longer push (3-4 sec until the xbox led flashes) write protection of. But maybe it also works if you do like Dave wrote to solder that tiny wire to set the chip to be always on. EDIT: Found an older post from Dave : The same should apply to the live chip (almost)
  12. Like Dave wrote, when you can't lock the SSD you can't run a softmod, simple as that.
  13. When you install a modchip your xbox will work again.
  14. There is. FatXplorer : https://mega.nz/file/4ENnEQYC#9FB7tYRyjfhdghyColUWTQUNbKFYUoU-3UXfhsRV2-c https://1fichier.com/?kinvner9q3c4dy7yiobz Download the pack from Mega or 1fichier and follow the readme. Everthing you need it there to set up your HDD on your PC.
  15. Well, if I say you are wrong here, you kick me in my bud right? But you know what, I take the risk. US to Gööörmany is a far distance just to kick my ass all over the place so..... UnleashX (v0.39.0528A) displays some TSOP's correctly.
  16. So we found your problem. Dead HDD - I guess. What does the windows disk manegment say's (IF something at all)? Does the HDD shows up there and IF can you format it or just silence? If you can't get the HDD to work under Windows, send it back DOA. My aladdin also shows up as unknown but flashes and works fine. So like I said, nothing anyone should worry about. ANd btw. even the LPC2 cheap mod "things" I have soldered to the 1.6 shows up as unknown which has a 49LF020.
  17. The info "protected chip" dosn't stop you from flashing a new bios to your Aladdin. The info just means that UnleashX didn't know your chip. Nothing you should worry about. What new HDD do you use? SInce the DVD boots up fine with the old HDD I say the bios on the chip is ok. Maybe needs to updatet later on (for bigger HDDs for example #LBA48 support) but it should not prevent your XBox from booting. And you say the cable is working fine also I would think it's maybe a WD green HDD? Does the HDD work when you connect her to your PC? And whats the error number you get on your screen?
  18. The m7 recovery bios is not able to boot up with an m8 / m8+ bios on the TSOP. Tried that my self 2 times. The m7 needs some parts of the broken bios of the TSOP to boot up and since the m7 and m8 have differen types "bootloaders" they are not compatible. If you have any other bios m7 or below it can work but not here.
  19. That's right. Place your bios in C:\Bios name it bios.bin and flash it. But like I wrote, when you remove your HDD after the flash anyway, you can also flash right of the DVD. The EvoX is fine. You could also think about to use the iND 5003 XISO (If you plan to use iso files of your HDD (Needed for a hand full of games because of to long file names)).
  20. I'm pretty sure there are some cheap ones which will do the job just fine when wireing some cables up to the chip thats why I worte that maybe someone else can jump in here and make a recommendation.
  21. You don't need a new chip in the first place. First of you need a programmer with an adapter for the TSOP. After that you can see if you are able to reflash the bad. Only if that fails you would need a new chip. And I can't recommend any programmer, at least no cheap one. I have an TL866 II Programmer (which also has it's own software) but that would be way to expensive just to reflash one chip. But I think someone else can recommend you a cheap programmer which you can use.
  22. As far as I know (someone correct me if I'm wrong here) the OpenXenium didn't offer a recovery function for the TSOP like the XBlast Chip does. And because HeXEn uses a evox m8+ plus bios to flash the TSOP you would not be able to recover the bad flash at all using either of the chips. The recovery funtion of the XBlast (XBLastOS) need working parts of the evox bios of the TSOP. And the recovery bios is made of an m7 which is not compatible with the m8/m8+ bootloader. So your only chance to maybe recover that TSOP is to unsolder the chip and flash it using an external flasher.
  23. So you have an OpenXenium in your XBox and tried do TSOP at the same time? Does your XBox boot to to the OpenXenium menu when you power up your XBox?
  24. You can unpack the XBox ISO using XDVDMulleter Beta 10.2 OR you can put the DVD in the drive and copy it to your XBox HDD. Forgot to say. When you flash the bios and right after that you set up a new HDD and the old one doesn't matter, you could also flash right of the DVD. The info about the fact that HeXEn deletes your UnleashX Dashboard just because you flash a bios was just to make you aware of it.
