  1. Just for good measure I tried 007 everything or nothing, sands of time, doom 3 (both), dead man’s hand, and burnout 3 from vimms on an Xbox with a 2Tb western digital blue (CMR), startech adapter, and 80 wire 40 pin ide cable. All worked as they should with no crashes and I was able to play them 15 mins or so each with no issues before I moved on to the next game. I was using rocky5’s attacher and xiso files on most but burnout 3 and sands of time were both unpacked xisos. So the images from vimms are good. There’s something else in play for sure like the aforementioned data corruption in download to pc/upload to Xbox or the smr hdd. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how it performs on the old hdd you have and we can go from there.

  2. Yeah, try the other HDD. At this point, it looks like just trying to run ANYTHING from it would be a sufficient test as new files do not seem to wanna run on the current HDD.

  3. From my past experience, it was always a bad download or transfer that caused that issue. Have you tried just the normal .iso files or converting them into .cci using Repackinator? Those would seem to be the easier trials to run first.

  4. Commenting on this post for anyone else trying to use this software. XPR Express works fine on Windows 10 64-bit if you install the .NET 1.1 runtime and .NET 1.1 SDK. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1596167/where-to-download-microsoft-visual-c-2003-redistributable

  5. So, basically, when a part of a TSOP bank is grounded, the Xbox can't see that part of the chip anymore. By grounding specific parts of the chip away like that, the Xbox will skip over those parts and boot the first bios file it sees. So to accomplish what your shooting for, you want to build your custom 1024k bios file that contains all four banks, by just simply combining all the 256k files together into a single large file. This is easy to do from a DOS or Linux command prompt. In DOS you use something like 'copy biosA.bin + biosB.bin + biosC.bin + biosD.bin bigbios.bin'. Then you take the 1024k bios file and flash it to your TSOP with no switches active, so the chip is ungrounded and you have access to the entire 1024k. Then you would use your switches to access the specific bank you want to load from. That's how I've always done it at least.

  6. It’s possible since CMR tends to be better for gaming, etc. Never actually used an smr drive in an og Xbox before though. I’d try the other hdd you mentioned the way Bowl suggested with a game and see if the problem persists.

  7. From the ScummVM-1.4.1.rar archive's README-XBOX.txt file, available from emuxtras.net's Download section [XBOX] - Emulators: ScummVM 1.4.1 ported by A600 This is a ScummVM port for the Xbox1, possible thanks to the hard work of the ScummVM team and the SDLx libs by Lantus. It features all the 1.4.1 supported engines, MP3, Vorbis, Flac, AAC and FluidSynth (the MT-32 emu isn't included because the Xbox lacks the power to handle it). All HQ scalers should work. The file xbox.patch is the diff patch against the 1.4.1 branch https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm.git

  9. https://digiex.net/threads/scummvm-download-for-xbox.13719/ Not source, just compiled xbe. Might have to dig around in https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm That being said that's the official mainline source, so work to be done there if you're wanting to port it.

  11. I haven't really been able to find a ton of info on the communicator, I am curious about it though. It would be nice to have a way to hook up the Xbox to a modern gaming headset, through a combination of Toslink and an AUX jack maybe, ideally without having it plugged into the controller you're using. I'm assuming this is an analog/digital converter and that a simple AUX to USB adapter couldn't replace this thing.
