  1. Yes, highly. FTP give you the max speed. all partitions of your drive are accessible with ftp Skins do work no 1.6 bug like the official OX firmware no makemhz branding no self destruct code when no dvd drive is present and you want to flash a bios the system doesn't hang for one minute like the official FW faster in the menus the web interface does work good you can download a flashed bios to your pc again you can set video and game regios its fully compatible with HD+ ... This is only the beginning, there are more features planned in the future.

  4. yeah when it comes to the capacitors I just do one at a time and yes I have seen print on the PCB I would also have to say that my experience with TVs in general is very slim however I have a good idea of what is in them especially old CRT I have messed with those a little bit as for plasma TVs I have no experience if there's anything in there that is high power I will recognize it obviously I will understand the capacitors beyond that no please do not be concerned I am no fool I don't go poking where I don't know and I do thoroughly look

  5. Just off the top of my head I’d suggest replacing C1E1, C2E4, and C3E2 (the three near the cpu just in case I didn’t recall all the location codes correctly lol) when you’re replacing the others. They are 3300 microfarad 6.3v and are 10mm diameter by 25mm length for that revision board. These can have a direct effect on your power as well (though in this case there are probably multiple things). They look ok from your pictures but at this point are really old anyway and should be replaced. Since you’ll be replacing some other radial caps already I thought I mention them.

  6. I have some good news. It looks like all the traces that run through 6-8 appear to be fine! I checked for continuity through all of them and they seemed to be good all the way to the top of the board, including the one in the bottom right corner. I also went and took an old toothbrush with 91% IPA and tried to get at the corrosion. Like @Raidernick said, it does look like something exploded on the board. Some basic Googling told me that the ceramic capacitor (C7G7) was rated "8nf 0603". I'm hoping that it's not required to run the box, as it looks like the trace is basically destroyed. I also took some more photos, it's nice to be able to see things up close! There is still some corrosion along the backside of Q7G2. I plan on giving this area of the motherboard a good soaking with a baking soda, vinegar, and IPA. R7G3 appears to have come loose from the corrosion. C6G3, C6G1, and C7G6 appear to also be leaking. I planning on replacing these caps. Thank you @FrostyMaGee and @Raidernick for helping me out! I would throw you a beer if I could Hopefully I can get some more insight on anything else I should check before I try to power the box. If there are any other angles I should upload, I can upload them Album here.

  7. That's actually a ceramic capacitor and it looks like it exploded.

  9. There is some serious damage to a resistor below where the clock capacitor used to be. What happened?

  10. Yeah at least that one trace is bad. There are test pads from the beginning of the trace to the end of the trace that you can test on to see if there is continuity through the whole thing. As for the clock cap area, you DEFINITELY need to clean than before doing anything else, and make sure you get under the caps around where it was as they all definitely have corrosion under them.

  11. PrometheOS V1.0.0 Released. (A replacement Open-Source OS for Xenium based mods.) Now Available: PrometheOS the replacement OS for Xenium Modchip has now been released. Xbox-scene have now opened a dedicated room #prometheos for discussions, support & skins. Please note that source code to the OS will be released and available in couple weeks on the GitHub url listed in the NFO. While everyone who has been involved on this project the past couple months with testing, it is expected that there might be some bugs that might show up during your usage. Please make sure to report them in the dedicated room so they can be fixed in future releases. Please show your support for Team Resurgent and community-based projects by making a donation. 12. Thanks for the compliment, buddy. That's pretty cool to read. Yes, I remember. I actually have one of those in my storage unit, believe it or not. Same model. In fact its in the bottom left of that picture right above. That thing is AMAZING. The colors are absolutely out of this world. I saw the fans up top and I was like oh my GOD. @SS_Dave was right. I have a space heater in my room. 500 watts, yeah? I replaced it with my LG 50PM6700 3D plasma. I think the colors on the Panny are a bit better, honestly, but I just HAAAD to have my 3D. The brand of caps I use when recapping is Nichicon and Rubycon. Nichicon seems to be the best from my research. The recap process is tedious, but worth it to prevent cascading failures. Those things (plasmas) have a tendency to die, mostly from all the damn high voltage that's going around in there. That kills caps like crazy. But I assume you know how to desolder them, write down their position and values and order from Digikey, yes? I'm actually recapping another Samsung Slimfit CRT, this one's got 2 components, 2 s-videos, 2 HDMI ports. It's a beast... and it has 43 capacitors. Jesus it's gonna take like 4 hours to solder those all in.

  13. Please trust me. It's D0 that needs to be grounded to activate an LPC boot on everything other than a 1.6. Lframe may exist in some form on 1.3 to 1.4, but is not used. D0 is. Lframe is only used on the 1.6 to trigger a chip boot. I've modded every motherboard revision out there. This is how it works. I do not know what is going on with the GitHub and why 1.3 to 1.4 have been left out, but they don't work any different than the 3 previous versions and should work fine. The 1.6 requires an LPC rebuild. That is the only practical difference other than needing to cut an Lframe trace. You don't HAVE to cut Lframe and it will work without cutting the trace, but Lframe (the 1.6 version of D0) has a lot of current and isn't a good idea to keep traced up.
