Don't recall where recently saw a link to this portable ogXbox. The site's only accessible from the archived copy at archive.org's Wayback Machine. This site also made portables from other retro consoles. The initial exploit is NDURE, done by the font exploit. It’s crashing at this stage. ( if it was NKPatcher that the NDURE exploit loads the LED would be orange ) your issue I assume is the system is taking to long to load, like folk have said bad adaptor or dvd drive can causes these problems. ( cable also but you replaced that ) something at a hardware level is your problem, try running Chimp 261812 and using the fix error 16 option in the slave drive options to only reclone a working C partition, if it still does it it’s not software it’s hardware causing your problem. ( softmods support the partition table that’s required for a large HDD )

On the Startech IDE2SAT2 adapter, is there a jumper across the ACD pins? If so, remove it and try again. What IDE device is being selected? MASTER or CABLE select. Since the 80-wire 40-pin IDE cables are generally flipped end-over-end to install in the Xbox, cable select (CABLE) will not function and MASTER should be used.

Try truning on with the eject button and leave the tray open. Its crashing at the exploit point and I haven’t a clue why other than the adaptor is slow & it causing issues. ( I only use sata drives and max is 640 or there about GB work no problem ) what colour is the LED when it hangs?

dam. all that is left is the software on the 2TB sata, or the hard drive itself. I had issues with 2TB hard drives and only use Seagate now. others use the WD with no probs though.

next thing I would try is swapping the DVD drive. I have a Thomson that reads everything well in my v1.4, but boots to black in my v1.6

maybe try the adapter from you brothers in yours?

There will be no bank selection in XBlast OS flashed to the motherboard's TSOP device. (The Section 3.3 TSOP split feature mentioned in the XBlast_OS manual is only available if you are using the XBlast_Lite modchip with A19 from the modchip tied to the motherboard's MCPX controlled A19 address line!) From bennydiamond's (psyko_chewbacca's) lpcmod_OS repository: Flash LPC/TSOP with image from HDD/CD/HTTP (limited to current bank on non-XBlast modchip) The TSOP has no bank switching hardware support. You'll have to add switches to the address lines to force them high or low to select between various banks. However, data in such pseudo-banks is not entirely addressed properly.
