Possible to create dual component and vga cable?

Hey all,

This might be a foolish thought, but would it be possible to create an av cable that does both component out and vga out at the same time? I ask because if it were possible, it would be a very cheap an effective way to capture gameplay from an original xbox while playing. I was looking at this diagram for av pinouts and saw how similar they already were:

I guess the only potential issue is that pins 9 and 10 are shorted for when its VGA and are not shorted when its component? Would be curious to hear from people more knowledgeable than myself.

The short answer is NO as the Xbox can not output both modes at the same time and if you switch modes while the Xbox is running it will do a reset to enable the new mode.

In VGA mode the component video signal will not get displayed due to the sync signal not with in range.

You are better off using the MakeMHz digital HDMI kit or the Xbox2hdmi adaptor and split that signal.

Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.

So if even if I built out a VGA cable, and tapped out the rgb into its own extra output, I couldn't use that is component, or rgb in on any tube TV?

From my understanding the horizontal and vertical synchronisation signals run a different frequencies for each output, The VGA has separate sync signals and at a higher frequency.
