Mbenj24
I've watched a number of videos of PS3 motherboards with the user attempting to remove the CPU, if they didn't preheat the motherboard at 100c for 24hr the board would popcorn due to internal moisture boiling/escaping, ruining the board. Does the OG Xbox need the same prebake before attempting a hot air removal of the CPU?

Mbenj24
An old toaster oven for the prebake and a Amazon 850w preheat plate, SMD rework hot air station (Amazon) Just starting out. I'll try the process on some other motherboards that work first. Edited December 28, 2024 by Mbenj24 misspell

Mbenj24
I ordered a square nozzle adapter. I do like the fact that this station has an adjustable wand holder. I play with some motherboards first to make sure the cpu still works.
