  1. It just goes to show you when Microsoft or any of the manufacturers give their warrantied consoles to a third party provider to "fix". Back in the day when I had to send my 360 back for warranty, the one they sent back had a "Refurbished" sticker on it. I didn't even get four months out it it, Now I can see why.
  2. When you buy some used consoles on Ebay or elsewhere when you see "Refurbished" stickers on them? I bought a number recently, and one had a refurbished sticker underneath it. When I opened it up it was missing one screw for the PS, both screws for one and two controller ports and broken tabs to help hold down the fan! Man these guys are crude!
  3. My theory is the tracking label is part of the production line, as it goes from station to station, it gets scanned. When it reaches the final testing phase and passes, only then the top sticker with the date and serial number is put on ready for distribution. So I do believe that this V1.0 came from the factory with a Phillips DVD.
  4. I have seen the Microsoft refurbished ones with a separate sticker on them saying exactly that, "Refurbished". Do the ones sent back from warranty have these on them?
  5. Ok Ok, I had another look at it and there are two stickers here, I picked up another working V1.0 today and it too has two stickers so I peeled up the top and the second sticker is a console tracking label. So is this something they did to all the early consoles or is it some sort of replacement sticker?
  6. The sticker looks very much the original.
  7. I wonder how much, if any degradation could be expected of the caps and such after sitting around for 20+ years?
  8. I'll check the sticker out more thoroughly tomorrow.
  9. I took apart three consoles today that where sold as parts, all three had Phillips drives in them but one was a V1.0, all the research I've found says this drive only started at V1.1. The seals were intact, I was the first to open it up.
  10. OMG..I guess I should grab the one in Canada especially after offered me a $1500 discount, lol.
