Does anyone know what tool(s) is required to modify the original XBOX Dashboard. The one with Live Support.

I did this so long ago and do not have my original files or any backups.

Thanks

Yeah, I can't tell if you're talking about modifying the actual MS dash ( I know of no modifications), or replacing it with an alternate dashboard.

I have the original MS Dashboard and modified it so that I could see apps emulators and games. So I guess more like editing it? My xbox is TSOP flashed v1.0

You do not have the original MS dashboard with apps emulators and games. It is most likely unleash X, which is made to look similar to the MS dashboard but is not.

This is why you cannot do anything with Xbox live or insignia. It is not the actual MS dashboard. If you go into your file browser in unleash X, and go into the C partition, You will find something called xboxdash.xbe. load it and you will be in the MS dash, and you can then do what you need to do.

If you were trying to get insignia to work, You need to make sure that your network settings are correct both in the MS dash and unleashX.

If you are talking about patches to the original MS dashboard that would be UIX and the different variants of it.  UIX and the Lite/Ultra Lite variants are based on the original MS dashboard and have patches involved to change the behavior of the original MS dashboard.  I dont use UIX as Im a bigger fan of the more modern dashboards so I cant tell you all of the various quirks UIX has but I know its not a completed dashboard.

... OH. I read his post wrong, since I didn't know UIX existed and did not know what he was talking about. Sorry @lheures
