  1. Decided it would be a fun idea to add a Xenium chip to my old xbox. Couldn't get the chip to run despite my best efforts so proceeded to remove the pin header and send it to someone a little more handy with a soldering iron. I put it all back together and all I'm getting is 2X restarts and then flashing lights. No power to DVD or HDD by the looks of things. Blank screen no video. Can anyone here spot anything that can be done? Thanks
  2. Hello everyone, I'd like some help repairing my Xbox. I got an Alladin chip but while soldering I ripped the ground pad, now my Xbox won't boot to a dashboard with or without the chip. The behavior is at follows: Boots up flickering 3 times and reboots 2 times, the third time it boots either to XBlast or flickers red and green if booting to a flashed BIOS or without the chip. I've checked the dashboards, and the C drive has a lot of them for most BIOS options and so is the E drive so there should be no issue. I don't have the best tools for precise jobs, and this is my first soldering work. I have flux and it's old, dark colored and leaves quite a bit of residue as seen on the 4th picture, unsure if that's an issue though. What can I do here? Do I cut the hanging trace and connect to ground elsewhere or solder both trace ends to the pad again, etc And would the copper wire, as seen in the last picture, be enough for connecting the D0 to ground? I don't have 30ga or any type of wire as shown in videos and guides. Thanks
  3. Hi All, I want to replace the Xraptr solderless adapter for the X3 on my 1.4 board. The pin header I bought for the swap was this -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X77A472?psc=1. The pin headers I bought won't go through the LPC port through holes. The holes seem unusually tight. Or did the Xraptr bork the holes being attached for almost 20 years? The pins are the same thickness as the pin header I received with an Open Xenium chip install I bought recently for another Xbox I own. That board was a 1.6 with LPC rebuild. See the pic of the 1.4 board LPC port and let me know if this looks unusual. Thanks for the advice, Zagman
  4. Hi All, I have an Xecuter 3 CE with the Xraptr solderless adapter. I want to replace the adapter with a real pin header. Doing so will require to add the 3 pin connector for the modchip with wires for the D0, HDD and LAN led's to be soldered to the MB. I bought this gear almost 20 years ago, and do not have that connector with wires for the 3 points. Did they (team xecuter) use a proprietary jack for the 3 pin wire connector? I looked on Ebay for a 3 pin 1mm jack with foot long cables and found one that should work. But if the X3 jack is keyed a certain way it won't fit. Any advise or suggestions will be helpful....Zagman
  5. Hi Everyone, i'm currently offering these replacement cables in an effort to bring back to life as many original xbox Microsoft branded controllers as possible! This cable includes a 5 pin connector so it has all of the data lines that the xbox cable uses. It's a simple replacement, just de-solder the existent pin connector, and put this in it's place. This is a full length cord, includes the breakaway, ferrite cores, strain relief etc. It can also be used as a replacement on most (maybe all) of the cheap aftermarket controllers if you want to be able to use sit further from your monitor/TV. The new connector inserts vertically, the old one lays on it's side, this has no effect on the shell. There is one other difference i will point out for complete transparency. The original xbox controller uses 5 data lines, and has 1 chunky stranded line of shielding that is soldered as a 6th pin. These do not have that 6th pin. For comparison, the cheap aftermarket controllers use 4 pins in their wiring (missing the yellow wire), have no breakaway cable, and are only 5-6 feet in length. These ship from the US, and currently listed at $5.99 per cable. I do have a shopify store for easy payment options, but will not link that here until i have permission to do so. If you are interested, please drop a comment and feel free to PM me. Bulk rates are an option, just have to figure out the best method of shipping whatever qty it is you may be interested in.
  6. Hi I wanted to upgrade the ram and I accedently lifted pin 55 acording to the datasheet it is CK is there a way to repair it?
  7. Hello good evening guys, I need to clear a doubt about the Xbox HD and the chip.... Come on, My Xbox 1.6 already has the Pin headers installed, and I want to buy Chipmod PROJECT STELLAR, I just fit it in and ready? Since you have everything done.... and another thing I'm going to buy a HD Western Blue, would that be the right one?
  8. Bought 3 yellows ones on eBay - all garbage - can someone tell me where to buy ones that actually work? Sitting in front if a modded 500gb SATA original Xbox that I can’t play on a bank holiday weekend is disappointing - any help greatly appreciated.
  9. Before today I did not even know there was such a thing as a push fit pin header. Doing a bit of researching about pin header installations I came across a video about just such a thing being used with a Raspberry Pi. Great idea I thought but wondering why nobody has ever suggested using one with the Xbox or perhaps actually fitted a chip using it rather than go through the messy and rather uncertain process of soldering in a pin header. If I'd known earlier I would have seriously considered trying this myself and maybe not lost a MB, which may have been faulty anyway, but my lousy soldering certainly did not help. You'd still need to do a bit of soldering: the D0 point of course but that is relatively simple. https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/gpio-hammer-header?variant=35643241098
  10. As I destroyed the pin header that came with the Aladdin chip and threw the remains away without thinking I want to buy a replacement but do not know what size pins are best suited for this use. Obviously double row, straight pins required (I assume the spacing is standard) but I'm surprised there is no common length for the pins - on Amazon/EBay etc there are a great mix of pin sizes ranging from under 10mm to 30mm long. What is recommended?
  11. i need a new pin header to use for installing my mod chip. can someone link a good one?
  12. Hello, does anybody have a part number for 12 pin 2 row male header for yellow cable connection ? Many years ago, I followed a tutorial thread that had a part number, but could not find it. Regards, David
  13. Does anybody out there know the spec of the pin headers needed for fitting modchips to the lpc port in an Xbox? I want to buy some spare pin headers mainly for connecting my eeprom reader but I also have a few chips with missing pin headers. Has anyone bought any and has a link to the correct size ones? Cheers
  14. Hi - I ordered a Star Tech IDE to SATA connector and have a spare 500GB SATA drive - will the IDE cable in the xbox work as it is a 500GB drive or will I need to invest in a 80 Pin cable?
  15. I can’t seem to find a clear answer anywhere. Do I remove the jumper pin from the sata HDD since the sata/ide adaptor has its own jumper pin selections? I just need to know the configuration so I can clone it using chimp. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
