I recently bought hardmodded xbox (aladdin xt) and it has xbmc origin dashboard. I want use inisgnia to play online but whenever i try to access network setting from original dash it takes me back to xbmc dash. Also, i read somewhere it's best to change to xbmc4. Should I do it and how (I'm new to modded xbox original)

I just purchased a XBox with Xecutor2 and Avalaunch. I wanted to add some of my games to the hard-drive so I followed this video on installing FileZilla and connecting to the Xbox. However, following the steps, it doesn't work. I'm not sure why. I do see that there is any username and password displayed in the Network Menu (ex. 1, 2), but I used the default which is "xbox" for both the username and password. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Any advice would be welcomed.

EDIT - The console is now fixed and connecting to the net perfectly. The culprit was a faulty ICS1893AF chip and after doing a transplant from another dead 1.6 console with known working internet, everything is up and running. Thanks @prtscn for the pointer. OP - I have a 1.6 from YEARS ago that has never been able to connect to the net. I just sat and replaced the Ethernet port with a known good replacement from another 1.6 board I have that has other issues, and, still no internet connectivity. Anyone have any ideas what else I can swap from the other board that might kick the network into working order?

I was running some Halo system link no issue. When I switched over to Brute Force and Mechassault the link failed to see another Xbox.I am using a unmanaged switch. I used one of these back i the day https://www.ebay.com/itm/Radica-Gamester-RC73220-LAN-Party-4-port-hub-and-Gamester-power-supply/164263467360?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649. The question is do some of the old games need a hub not a switch for connection ?

I’m still getting to grips with using the og Xbox in 2020, well setting it up. I’ve got a USB powered WiFi bridge that plugs into the Ethernet port, and is powered directly from the console. But the console starts up quicker than the the bridge can connect. Is there an option I’m missing that will force XBMC4Gamers to check the network again and then it’ll get an IP address? Ta Pete

Hi, First time modder here having some issues with the setup after upgrading the hdd. I have a modchipped v1.6 OG XboX and set it up with a 160 GB IDE hdd using the Hexxen 2018 disc. I also switched to a 80-pin IDE cable. The install went well, and I have uploaded games via ftp and can play them from the hdd. I then created a Emulator folder on E:\ and put a N64 emulator there (Surreal64CE B6.0), and the roms in the Roms folder, but the Emulators-'tab' is not showing when starting the XboX. I installed XBMC from the Hexxen 2018 disc, but there is nothing showing under the System\Emulators tab in XBMC. Also the display in XBMC is too large for the tv-screen, and changing the options (Normal/Widescreen/Letterbox) does nothing. The bullet options for 460, 720 and so on in XBMC display settings are greyed out, and I cannot use them. This is also true for the display settings in the XboX Admin/Settings in the dash which shows up when I start the XboX, but I got a correct display after disabling Pal-60. Last, I am not able to set a static IP address when switching from DHCP to static. I can input the new IP, but when I click OK, it still says IP: 0.0.0.0. The display and ftp issues are not serious per se, but I would like it all to be in working order, and not being able to play the emulators is a bummer. I have bought a 2TB hdd, and am currently waiting for a Startech IDE to Sata adapter to arrive, and was hoping to have it all working when upgrading to the Sata disk. My option now is to try the whole procedure again and see, but don't know if it will make any difference... Can anyone please help point me in the right direction to get it all working as I would like? -Thank you.
