I recently picked up a 1.6 Crystal at a thrift store for cheap. It even had a replacement 160gb installed with the newest build of EvoX Dashboard defaulting, a couple of games, emulators and movies. Pretty good score! But I'm not the biggest fan of EvoX. I can work with it (and XBMC is also installed) but I'd rather do UnleashX. However, when I FTP up a copy and try to run the dash xbe, I just get kicked back to EvoX. Trying to boot the MS Dash gives me the same result. Interestingly, XBMC dash does start properly. Any great ideas? Could it have anything to do with a bios version? I know almost nothing about the various types. I'm also assuming TSOP modded. I've already tried booting up a Hexen disk and poking around, but of course, the DVD drive is pretty crappy and its not reading the disk...You get what you pay for! Thanks

Hi - I have a 250GB IDE hard drive with Coin Ops 8 Massive on it along with a few of my games backed up to the hard drive using dvd2xbox. I also have a few other emulators - NES, SNES and Sega Megadrive. This is the perfect setup for me and I don't really need to add anything else to it. Is it possible to add the xbox origins dashboard to my current setup and if so does anyone have a link or details on how to do it? Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I was brought as a kid a modded/chipped Xbox, with unleashx (version 534 I think). A AnywayI was thinking its about time to update it but don't really know how to go about it! I'm unsure of what the modchip is, so I've attached a photo and it has switches/lights on front of console, I don't know if it matters but it is a 1.0 Xbox with fan on heatsink! I have removed clock capacitor! I basically want to update it because 1 the software randomly bugs up and have to restart it a couple of times, 2 want to change settings to NTSC (can't on this version of unleashx) and 3 just because I like messing with things I did download a newer version of unleashx but it said to copy default.xbe, I don't have that file on my c drive it's called unleash.xbe, don't know if I'm looking in right place! Any help would be appreciated, thank you for your time and any help

Hi everybody. From what I can understand there is a difference in how to change the default dashboard to anything you want (If you have a tsop, sofmodded or hardmodded box.) In my case, I have a TSOP modded box and I would like to have xbmc4gamers or xbmc emustation as my startup dash. What should I do here? I have read somewhere that I should make a shortcut in a program on my computer to redirect it to where I have the dashfile. Please feel free to fill in the blanks for me to understand this matter better. / David

I was wondering does unleash X work on my current dashboard. Im new to Xbox modding.....

I'm trying to set my system start up in 720p. If I go to the MS dashboard from UnleashX menu, change the settings, do a soft reboot UnleashX will come back up in the display settings I've set. If I power off the system and power back on these settings don't save. The only settings that do stick are what I set in the UnleashX dashboard settings. The MS Dashboard reverts back. Any suggestions? Not sure if relevant but: -Using a Pound Technologies HDMI cable -Softmodded xbox using rocky5 migration to sata and upgraded ide cables -Just removed my clock capacitor.

whats the latest original xbox dashboard

Is there a way to exit a game without rebooting the system to return to the dashboard? Thanks

I just upgraded my HDD to 2tb. Everything is working fine but I noticed, in unleash X the MS dashboard option is not showing up. I guess it was deleted in the install. How do you reinstall it. Thanks

Pardon the noobness but I've currently resurrected an Xbox and cloned it to a 2TB hard drive. I've added the latest version I can find of XBMC and am able to see the G: partition in FTP sessions but looks like Unleash X still can't see it? I have a copy of UnleashX_0_39_0528A.rar and wanted to upgrade to that but can't find any resources for updating without the live update feature. Can anyone link any available documentation or possibly some advice on how to proceed? Also, if there is any go-to guides to getting everything current can you please provide some links? Reddit seems to be a little dodgy with content. Thank you for your help!

I came across this skin a little while ago and I really like the look of it, but I was hoping someone could help me with the video previews. I have them working, if you move over and click on the game preview, but in the thread below there is come code that enables you to view the previews by just pressing down on the dpad.
