  1. I don't think so. This mod outputs the resolutions that the Xbox is capable of 480p, 720p or 1080i. There is no upscaling or scanline capability added.
  2. @Gorrillasnot, check the BIOS version that you are booting. Are you sure you didn't get the TSOP flash to work? A Blank screen when you expect the replacement dashboard to be displayed is a symptom of trying to boot a modified BIOS on an already softmodded console. Update: Reading your other post about lifting a trace during TSOP attempt. Guess this is the same console left softmodded. Do you know how it was softmodded?
  3. Yes. When running XBMC4Xbox, you'll find it in Q:\system\media\Splash.png. Replace it with a different image using the same filename to change it. XBMC4Xbox maps Q:\ to the directory where XBMC4Xbox's default.xbe file is executed from on the hard drive. For example: With XBMC4Xbox installed in F:\Apps\XBMC4Xbox\, Q:\ is mapped to F:\Apps\XBMC4Xbox\. From the above example install path when not running XBMC4Xbox, you'll find the splash screen image at F:\Apps\XBMC4Xbox\system\media\Splash.png.
  4. One Xbox Shortcut creation app for Windows is 08.16.05.Xbe.Shortcut.Maker.2.0.rar.
  5. 1.4's have a 256KB TSOP flash to hold the BIOS. You see from the Evox screen posted earlier that's it's 4979.06 - X2 BIOS. A bit dated but so are all the Xbox BIOSes. This one just more so than the latest released BIOSes for the Xbox. X2 4981.06, X2 4983.06, M8plus configured with EVTool v1.0.9 for 06 operation F only and DVD check disabled, iND-BiOS 5003 or iND-BiOS Beta Feb-11-05 (aka 5004) can be used as they are 256KB in size. All of these are available on the Hexen 2018 installer disc by Forlorn Penguin. Download links visible after 5 forum posts.
  6. Yeah, the same pinout for the two CPLD chips, LC4032V and LC4064V, but there's not enough macrocells, 32 vs 64, to include the operation of the LCD in the modchip with an LC4032V chip installed. One PCB to make for both non-LCD and LCD supporting version of the modchip. Either install the LC4032V or LC4064V. Different logic programming present for the particular chip's use. You'll see that the latest clones have the pads present for the LCD but no traces running to the CPLD.
  7. Welcome to OGXbox.com. Ask your questions in the appropriate forum section(s) and someone will most likely be able to answer them.
  8. No single command to do so. Best to back everything up on the console's C and E drives and extended partition(s) present and post the directory listing of all the files present. There may be content on it that has been lost due to time, web sites no longer online to obtain it from. It would be nice to recover any such files if present before you delete them all.
  9. It's a v1.4 Xbox - Focus Video Encoder.
  10. When you run Chimp, what's the status of the slave hard drive? Depending on how its unlock operation worked. It either unlocked the drive until the next power cycle or permanently removed the password so it's still unlocked - no need to unlock it again.
  11. I find it odd that changing the power cord affected the operation of the DVD drive. But, whatever works...
  12. You can also use the script for XBMC4Xbox v3.5.3 - 480p Game Loaders XBMC3.5.3.zip - to get them to work - in 480p.
  13. Which cable? The DVD drive's power/signal cable. I think of the AC power cord being a figure of 8 cable. The DVD power cable has 12 pins on the DVD drive end and 14 on the motherboard end, not 8. Poor graphic as the motherboard end has 14 pins, not 12 as shown. However, the last 2 pins - 13 and 14 - are N/C (not connected).
  14. The sound files for ambient audio in UnleashX are configured to use the MS Dashboard audio files. however, Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool doesn't install the MS dashboard to the C drive. There's only a Dashboard folder. You need to download either the Xbox Softmodding Tool extras disc and have it install only the audio files or the entire MS dashboard. Or you can download the 5960.zip file along with the audio.zip file from Rocky5's github repository: Core MS dashboard 5960 files/folders without audio files- 5960.zip MS dashboard 5960 audio files - Audio.zip You only need upload the files from the Audio.zip archive to get ambient sounds for UnleashX. Probably better to extract and FTP all the files from both to the Xbox's C drive.
  15. You can use Xboxhdm v1.9 or v2.2a on a PC with an IDE interface. Burn a disk image for v1.9 or create a bootable USB stick for 2.2a. The program to use once in Linux at a shell prompt is hdparm. I'm not exactly sure of the options to unlock the drive. Easier to use Chimp 261812 on your softmodded Xbox than XboxHDM on a PC. Another option is to use the newer USB version of XboxHDM - XboxHDM23USB beta 2 or beta 3. For the USB versions, you need a USB-to-HDD interface adapter and power supply connection for 3.5" hard drives since USB cannot provide enough power for the hard drive. Works with Windows 7 - 10 (64-bit) as provided. I've also worked a bit on getting it to work on 32-bit versions of Windows.
  16. I downloaded the file and checked what's inside. Folders for resources of many Xbox games and emulators. Too bad they aren't in <Game Name>/_resources/artwork/ folders. They are in: resources_emu/ <Emulator Name>/ (for 45 emulators) fanart.jpg poster.jpg resources_xbox/ <Game_Name>/ (for 752 games) cd.jpg fanart.jpg icon.jpg poster.jpg thumb.jpg And, a folder, -=Template=-/, with a few images: cdtemplate.png emu_template_poster.jpg Template_Case.png
  17. Here's something I remember I downloaded over a year ago. XBMC Origins Artwork.7z I've not extracted it to see what's inside and it's not on my local machine right now to check.
  18. Post a picture please. Oh of the damage to the Xbox's motherboard, not just any ole picture.
  19. Do you have a PC with native IDE interface connections? You could also try using your current softmodded Xbox with Chimp 261812 to unlock the hard drive if it happens to be locked with either of the two old Xbox scene master passwords of either TEAMASSEMBLY or XBOXSCENE. You'll install the 300MB hard drive as you would when using Chimp to clone your current MASTER hard drive to a new hard drive. However, we won't be doing any cloning. Power both the MASTER and to be SLAVE (300GB) hard drive using a Molex power splitter connected to the Xbox's HDD power connector. Set the 300GB's jumpers to SLAVE or CS. Power on the Xbox without any IDE connection to the 300GB drive. Start Chimp 261812. When prompted, connect the DVD drive's IDE connector to the new hard drive. Press A after it is connected. Go into the SLAVE drive operations menu. Unlock hard drive, use either of the two scene's master password options: 4 "From Master password:XBOXSCENE" Does it show that it worked. If not try, 5 "From Master password:TEAMASSEMBLY" Did it work? If not, search for MAXTOR DiamondMax 10 hard drive's default password(s). I know the two for the stock Seagate or Western Digital drives but not that one. Update: From https://www.forensicswiki.org/wiki/Hard_Drive_Passwords: Master Passwords These passwords were received from unofficial sources, they may not work! Western Digital: WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD Maxtor: Maxtor*INIT SECURITY TEST STEP*F (* means 00h) Seagate: Seagate followed by 25 spaces Fujitsu, Hitachi, Toshiba: 32 spaces Samsung: tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt IBM: CED79IJUFNATIT VON89IJUFSUNAJ RAM00IJUFOTSELET
  20. Which USB JTAG cable are you using?
  21. Try installing the libusb-win32 v1.2.6.0 drivers using the Zadig_wdi installer https://sourceforge.net/projects/libusb-win32/files/Zadig_libwdi/ I cannot test if this works since I have no USB JTAG cable to try. Update: I do see a 2.4 release of this installer available at the dev's web site: https://zadig.akeo.ie/ Usage guide: https://github.com/pbatard/libwdi/wiki/Zadig
  22. Why not? What error do you get? http://urjtag.org/book/_system_requirements.html Download: https://sourceforge.net/projects/urjtag/files/
  23. You set the timezone in the MS Dashboard. It's not installed on the hard drive after installing Rocky5's Softmod. You have to FTP the MS Dashboard 5960's files/folders to the Xbox's C drive or use the Xbox Softmodding Tools Extras disc to install it.
  24. Depends how it was setup in the first place. It would be nice if you had the eeprom.bin backup from the console it was installed in. Do you know how the console it came from was modded? Update: You said softmodded. Do you remember which softmod was used? What brand and model is the hard drive? MASTER Passwords may be XBOXSCENE, TEAMASSEMBLY or the manufacturer's default.
  25. Oh, there is an Origins hard drive image available at arcadepunks' web site. However, it's to be installed on a 2TB hard drive using HDD Guru's HDD Raw Copy Tool or similar application.
