Hi, i dont know if anyone out there can help me out with this, i know these chips are old and rare nowadays. Anyway i manged to snag one from ebay for a not to unreasonable price just this week I have just done the pin header install and seem to have an issue, when i power n the chip lights up with the 2 blue leds (i have another x3 modded box from years ago so i know thats right), I also know that you need to push both eject and power to get to the backup cromwell bios to flash the x3 bios to the chip. The issue i am am having is that no matter what combination of button press i do i can only boot the stock bios. The power led is supposed to change to purple to indicate the backup bios is being used, Red to show cip disabled and green when the chip is on. I ONLY ever get green and then stock bios. I have checked my pin header soldering and it looks nice and secure, also have re done the d0 point just to make sure. Its booting as if the chip isnt there. I am trying to use this chip to fix a box with a botched softmod..... It has error 16 when booting normally. I dont know if that makes any difference, but i wouldnt of thought so..... Its late now so im gonna go to bed and pick it up in the mornig, fist im going to try the new chip in my existing x3 xbox which has an xapt3r install and i know it works 100%, maybe i can flash it that way and then move it back to the other xbox. At least that way i can rule out a dead chip.... or not....

It is new!! All the wires have never been unfolded, they were all wrapped together. I untied them to check it was all there. Im gonna crack out an xbox tonight and get that sucker installed

Can i just ask a question? What are the default.xbe files in the pack for?

That port is for programming the x3ir, it was replaced by a much easier usb solution on later revisions.

Ive just got 2 startech adapters from Amazon uk for £20ish, dont suppose anyone knows of one of those 3d printed thingys that fits those???

Yeah i know, The OG was the only console i can really remember where the PAL console got almost as much love as the NTSC when it came to trainers It does have ETM and XBTF files tho so best of both worlds and probably some dupes

I literally just bought another Xecuter 3 chip!! Braad new from Ebay for £50, that less than i paid for my other one back in the day!! Now my question is does anyone know where i can get hold of an Xapt3r??? the exact one in the pictures above id rather not solder it so it can then be easily removed ans used again in another box

Which bios would you guys recommend for a TSOP flash? Ive been looking and im torn between iND, EvoX M8 and X2.....

I have a dump of a website that hosted the Xecuter 3 installation guide and user guide if you want, I think the website is still up but it never hurts to have a backup just in case it disappears. I dumped it a while ago when i started getting back into the OG box and couldnt remember how to work the X3 x3 site.rar

I dont think they are 1.6's i always tried to avoid those back in the day. You are right about TSOP instead of modchip, i just ordered some conductive paint that i saw in another thread on here for exactly that

Hi, Joined this site recently, thought i should say hello. Looks like a good resource for the OG box and i shall be using it frequently as ive recently been getting back into the box. Currently have a 2tb hdd on order with an ide to sata adapter ready and waiting to go in my X3 modded crystal box. Also have 2 more soft mod boxes
