  1. My daily driver meter is a Fluke 87v and it has a bar graph that's quick but it still easier to see a needle swing on a analogue meter, I also quite often use a CRO in place of the analogue meter. It really just depends on the job I am working on. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. Not enough to cause any problems I read of one person from Facebook mod scene that's had a 1.6 with a LED in place of the clock cap for several years and I have a 1,6 that a has a 220 ohm resistor fitted for at least 12 months and it gets regular use and is connected to the mains power 24/7. A single LED draws 10ma to 30ma depending on the brightness and can run from a coin battery like a CR2025 for hours. 3. Yep while a digital meter is more accurate an analogue meter will give a quick ( almost instant) indication of yes it's X voltage at different points on a board. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. I still use a analogue meter, From memory it's about early 1970's Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. No drives you just need the PSU and Power Button connected to the mother board. Have the board turned on and flashing the LED Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. Set the dial to DC 10 volt Hold the black lead (-) on one of the screws then using the red (+) probe each pin. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. So will a 220 ohm resister in place of the clock cap and it's even easier to do.
  8. With the mod chip disconnected and you take a voltage reading from each pin on the LPC port from the top of the board while the Xbox is FRAGING This is looking at the top of the board and with the front of the Xbox facing you. Just let us know what each pin has .. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. You could think of the LED as a standby led. I might try that in a 1.1 as well just for the hell of it.. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. PM sent Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. Or you can fit a LED in place of the clock cap or I fit a 220 ohm resistor in place of the clock cap and that board has been in regular use for over 12 months Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. Well here you go and it's leaking just like the Aerogel version from the component lead and unless you remove it you will not know until it' too late Correct.. This is a 20 year old BMW car radio and that has no audio and from the top the capacitor looked fine. I have also had this style of capacitor leaking. So if it's a electrolytic capacitor it can leak and cause corroded traces Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. Too save me reading all the previous posts What chip are you using? Did/Will the Xbox boot without the chip fitted after you added the LPC rebuild wiring? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  14. Have you tried to have the older (2.2.1) version of the config file on C drive. I tested this with a 2.3.0 on a 1.1 and I edited the IGR and it responded as per the edited config. The reason for the new config file not having all the options would be they are not really needed as that is normally set in the bios bin file Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. did any thing appear in the screen? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. You don't have to edit the settings in the Cerbios tool with the exception of the UDMA6 setting and you can keep using the cerbios.ini . Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. I have seen a lot worse and I give you 7/10 The green and blue wires have little too much insulation exposed but if it's working leave it. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. Are you referring the the yellow arrow? It's classed as a D0 but you should only use it if you are using a X3, Open Xenium, Xenium mod chip There is no magic point to safely connect the D0 on a Aladdin mod chip with a 1.6!! 19. Is this board booting to the original bios now? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. You need to test the voltages while the PSU is connected to the MB. Check the purple wire for 3.3 volts Normally the PowOk comes from the mother board to keep the PSU running Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. In my view wire the LPC like this, The arrow is the D0 from the mod-chip Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. No it doesn't need grounding Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. Where is your D0 wire and ground wire that is shown in a pic from the seller I never use the re-build board and in the early days the DuoX2 chips came with them I would toss the re-build board in the trash. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. Assume A HDMI that's not locked to a mod chip or a bios Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
