  1. What size and model of HDD? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. The solder joints in red look suspect, I would add some more flux paste and reheat the joints The joints look like a cold joint as shown in this pic. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. I still suspect the HDD or the sata adaptor. What dash are you booting to and what was used to setup that HDD I have used that bios without a DVD connected and it works fine. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. With the mod chip I would remove the wires from L1 and L2 then remove the wire from BT that's connected to the front and reconnect to ground. In this pic if you add a wire link like the black line that will make the chip always on then the Xbox will reboot correctly to the new dash board. https://postimg.cc/CZRfjtBV The cap marked C4F9 can be replaced with a cap looking like the other style on the other pic you just need to get the same value It's a 1500uF 6.3 volt so the one you have in the last pic is the wrong value. The other two are 1500uF 6.3 volt and if need be you could replace with one 3300uF 6.3 volt Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. I had a 1.6 here that was loading from a 2tb and 3tb HDD with the 40 way ide cable but I tried it in a different 1.6 and it didn't work. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. It will still need the 80 way cable but I have heard that if you don't have the DVD connected some versions will work with a 40 way cable when using a Startech brand of Sata2Ide adaptor. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. It was the wrong file and is now fixed. I have had one of the Chinese type of adaptors fail and get that hot I would not touch it Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. If you format the new HDD with Fatxplorer v3.0 Beta you can then also copy these files to the HDD an it should boot from the new drive to a stock dash. https://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/3-0-beta/ https://1fichier.com/?3e6gnqjqxtaqeerbjsar Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. If the old HDD was the stock one then that's normal that the stock dash loads. The Sata2Ide is the same type I have used with out any problems, You are using a 80way IDE cable aren't you? The Ind bios will probably show a black screen with loading IND-BIOS then white splash screen with green text and the Evox bios is probably a different colour splash screen with a logo on the top left of the screen. If that's happing the the bios has successfully loaded. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. There is a wire connected to the BT point on the mod chip that's going to the front of the Xbox. Remove it from the front of the Xbox and connect to ground (pin 2) or put it under one of the screws that hold the main board down. This will force the mod chip to be always active. 11. Have you tried to use a memory card to transfer the game save from the original HDD to the new HDD? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. Once you have added the bios files to the mod chip there is no need for the USB to be connected. When you burned the installer disk did you set the write speed as slow as possible and did you use a brand name DVD-r (I have had the best success with Verbatim DVD-r). When you are using a Sata drive you need to use a 80wayIDE cable and have the HDD set to master and there has also been reports of some Sata2Ide adaptors stopping the DVD drive from working. As the Xbox is now mod chipped you can also use a PC DVD drive connected to the Xbox in place of the Xbox DVD drive to load the installer DVD. 13. Load the OGXbox install DVD in the DVD drive and then launch the EvoxM8 bios it should detect the new HDD and offer to format it. The when that's done you can then install a new dash board. 14. Sounds normal to me. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. Is there any bios files in the launch menu on thee OpenXenium? If there is load the install disk in the DVD drive and have the new HDD fitted then press A on any of them and it should load the OGXbox install disk. It will then prompt you to format the HDD and you can then install any of the dash files that are on the disk. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. The simple method is fit a modchip then you can use a install disk to format the HDD. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. Me I only recommend the hard mod method. Fit a mod chip then you can fit the larger HDD and use a installer disk to format and install a dash of your choice. Also with a hard modded system you can then use Fatxplorer 3.0 beta to connect the HDD drive to your PC and transfer the games that way. If the Xbox is a version 1.0 - 1.4 you can re-flash the on board bios chip by linking two points on the main board then using a game exploit rewrite the bios to do the same as a mod chip. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. What happens if you have the HDD connected then load the OGXbox installer disk in the DVD drive and then power cycle (Power off then on) the Xbox? The Xbox uses FatX format and the installer will see it's a new HDD and offer to format it correctly. Also when you make a install disk for the Xbox use a brand name DVD-r disk(I use Verbatim DVD-r) and set the write speed as slow as possible. With a Xbox that's been hard modded you can also use a PC DVD drive connected to the Xbox to read the install disk. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. As long as the Xbox is hard modded (Mod chip or had the onboard bios re-flashed ) you can temporary fit PC DVD drive to load the installer disk and setup the new HDD. When I tested using PC DVD I left the yellow power led connected to the original DVD drive and used a 4 pin Molex power splitter to power the PC DVD, I have tested a sata DVD drive using sata2ide adaptor set to slave and a 80 way IDE lead as well. The PC DVD drive can not read an original game disk unless it has had the firmware on the DVD drive re-flashed. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. It's rare for Xbox DVD drive to read a DVD-rw you really need to use a brand name DVD-r (I use Verbatim DVD-r) and write it as slow as possible. The other option is you can use a PC DVD drive to read burnt disk like the installer disk. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. What Dash and what HDD, Ide2sata adaptor? 10 minutes to load sounds like you may have a HDD issue, Possibly the Sata2Ide adaptor or a low quality 80way IDE cable or a incorrectly formatted hard drive. The EvoXM8 bios is one of my favourites and is the quickest booting as it don't need to get a config file from the hard drive 1st. This is how I set the EvoX bios Also I have a plug I made to tell the main board the DVD tray is closed. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. When you turn off the Xbox are you just using the power button? Try after you set the LCD settings in XBMC use the power menu to reboot the Xbox. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. I would say that you have a Coma Xbox. I would be fitting a mod chip but for someone that's not up to speed with soldering the version 1.0 board is not as easy as the 1.1-1.4 board because the hole's in the LPC port are full of solder. I also highly recommend you don't practice/learn to solder on a Xbox board, go and find a old electronic device like a old radio, CD player, computer something like that to practice on 1st. To fit a mod chip you will 1st need to unsolder the LPC port so you can fit a pin header and that's where I have seen a lot of people come unstuck when tring to unsolder the holes. Yes there is if you have a copy of the EEprom. There is a program that you can use on a PC the unlock the HDD as long as you have the EEprom This is for a USB HDD adaptor to PC. https://1fichier.com/?tev1c7k338upo9eu2e9m This way you can save the data to your PC and then FTP it back to the new Xbox. As the clock cap is still fitted and there is a really good chance it leaking it should be removed and clean the top and bottom of the board along the front but it's extremely unlikely to be the cause of the problem you have. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. Can you remove the red links and post a pic of the location that's damaged. The link you put on the top of the board is near perfect you get a 10/10 for that one. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
