  1. Definitely https://www.arcadepunks.com/coinops-new-release-premium-ninja-massive/
  2. They seem to be back in stock here now. https://8bitmods.com/xboxhdplus/
  3. Any drive other than the Phillips drives with their wonky cases, should provide plenty of clearance for whatever you're trying to install on the MoBo.
  4. This is going to look pretty cool. Hope you measured for clearance
  5. I’ve personally never seen any clear dvd or HDD stands. Do you have a Phillips drive with the unnecessary buldge at the bottom?
  6. The installs should be pretty much the same between the two chips. In your case of using a 1.6, you will need to rebuild the LPC first before you're able to install anything. This is much easier using an actual LPC rebuild board instead of all the loose wires going everywhere.
  7. A semi decent soldering iron, a set of jewelers goggles or a magnifier with a bright bulb, definitely flux(clear liquid no clean). Other flux will do just fine, but will obstruct the clarity of the work.
  8. I keep Goodwill going, buying these things from them. As I mentioned before, this is probably the cleanest board I have ever picked up. Judging from the condition, lack of dust, and it having two extremely outdated bios files on it, my guess is the owner modded it back in the day and never played it much. Had it sitting around in a closet or something, then clean out day finally came around and I scored.
  9. How much was shipping? It’s about $60 total price if I were to buy one from the US.
  10. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth all the trouble. Once I was finally able to boot, I formatted everything and used OGXBox installer to flash a different bios and it worked just fine. Not sure if Flashbios just didn’t like my switch or not, but I think I still have a groove in my finger from holding the switch so hard to the right lol. Can’t believe that’s all it was the whole time. Should’ve known. On a side note, after I was able to relax and not pull my hair out, I realized the entire board and seemingly the psu also has been recapped. Someone spent some time on this thing and kept it amazingly clean. Thanks again Goodwill
  11. Here’s a seller in the Netherlands if that helps any https://www.ebay.com/itm/OG-XBOX-OpenXenium-1-6-LPC-Rebuild-SmartXX-Xblast-X-Xecuter-Aladdin-XT-/402760183337?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=1346-175129-2357-0 Give eBay a quick search
  12. Finally got this POS to flash. It was nothing I was doing wrong the entire time. It was the damn switch. Once I figured out the little trick, it took maybe 5-6 times and a very sore fingertip. Nevertheless, it has accepted M8plus and now I just need to get a dash back on there and all that good stuff. Sorry for the headache and thanks tremendously for the support. I bet you guys were thinking I'm an idiot and not performing the instructed tasks.
  13. Nope, everything is intact. No crimps or anything. Like I said I'll have much more time today and this weekend to try and troubleshoot. I've seen in several places that removing the dip switch put the chip into a proper flash state, but I have not tried that after powering on. Doing so before powering on disables the chip entirely. Is it not possible that it is trying to erase and being that it can't program successfully, the erase just gets reset? I guess I'm asking do we know for sure the erase isn't working. Edit: I'm booting from bank 2 which houses flashbios and then attempting to flash bank 1. So if the erase did indeed work I'd still be booting into flashbios through bank 1. Right?
  14. Does it boot without the chip connected? Sounds like you either have some trace corrosion or your chip isn't seated properly to the lpc.
  15. I have used the contact cleaner twice so far. I've used the previous flashbios tutorial I had found and then followed your guide also on creating the bios.bin files and proper burning yada yada. Now that I know it will at least Erase properly holding the protection switch all the way, I feel a little better. I'll have tonight and this weekend to actually fiddle around with it more. Do you recommend using the bios files that were on the HDD already or a more updated bios?
  16. Yes, that is the first thing I always see. It has trouble sometimes booting with flash off so I often boot with it on from bank 2, then switch protection off and to bank 1 before attempting anything. This is the furthest I’ve been able to get.
  17. UPDATE: I decided to use some old fashioned tactics and physically press the protection switch as far as it would possibly go to the right, while attempting a flash one of the original files on the HDD. Miraculously, this actually got me the furthest so far. The “yellow” Erasing bar went full green, BUT programming failed this time. At least some sort of progress has been made. Now I’m searching all I can to find anyone with this issue previously.
  18. Ok so I have reflowed the chip connections and made 100% sure all cables are connected properly. I’ve been creating dummy files for every iso image I make. I used the exact bios file as in your pic Kaos and http, disc, nor HDD install worked. No matter what I do I either get “no bios update found” or “erase failed”. Once again, I try this on both on and off protection mode just in case the wires are crossed. Wonderful information above that I had also found throughout my searching. Can I just remove this damn chip and convert to a regular TSOP somehow? Im really getting tired of messing with this thing. It just refuses to take an update in any shape form or fashion. One more thing I’ve mentioned before. With the chip off, I cannot get passed splash screen. However, HDD works just fine on other consoles.
  19. Also, if you're handy with a soldering iron you could reflow all the points. This has fixed DOA adapters I've recieved in the past. I think I've seen Dave mention that before as well.
  20. Definitely not in my plans at all. Just saying those sorts of things add up quickly. Just the Xbox collection alone is approaching 3TB or more depending on the type. I personally have no need for more than 2TB and that's pure luxury.
  21. Lol yes sir I did mean TB. I recently picked up a 4TB on sale and it was full not long after I opened it up. I have several full drives of tv shows, music, movies, etc. I'm sure you know about it.
  22. Yes. HDD works fine on a different console. Loads up dash perfectly as intended. I went ahead and copied over some more bios.bin files and still no change. Tells me Erase failed with the new ones I added. Just reflowed all chip connections and will check progress when I get back home. Edit: Also moved the dip switch to its proper place. My god it gets annoying tampering with it under the controller port.
  23. If you’re setting it up for a media center, 8GB is very small.
  24. With the chip off it goes as far as the splash screen and then error 13 or 16 usually.
  25. I'll go over all of this after work and reflow the connections. The end game here is taking this chip out and performing a TSOP. I should have stayed that to begin with. Is there an easier or different way to rove this thing and restore the MS bios?
