  1. I had no problem flashing the chip with my tl866 plus 2 using the chip settings mentioned above. If you get pin detection errors, refit the chip. I have the same problem from time to time but I reseting always fix it.
  2. I wonder why all the others I mentioned work as well. Any idea?
  3. Maybe the OP did not has removed / set up his HDD after the TSOP flash to get rid of the softmod files and now these files are causing the trouble. Would also be possible.
  4. Slayer booting is fine. Boot Slayers and flash an EvoX bios to your TSOP. When thats done use something more modern OGXBox Installer or FatXplorer and set up your HDD. When thats done load the LATEST cerbios which is v2.3.1 beta. Use XBLastOS to flash it. When thats done you're ready to rock (and maybe roll ).
  5. So the vendor of the chip. Well.... I can read and write it under " l24c02 - SOIC8 " (lize sigma microelectronics) . Litao l24c02 works as well. And Atmel AT24c02 @ SOIC8 works also. Conclusion: all the same chips. I would assume that all these chips are rebranded atmel chips.
  6. Win 98 supports up to 512MB Ram which is also enough for XP. How ever, you can "tweak" Win 98 in case you have more ram in the PC for XP. In that case you could add up to 2GB. Win 98 will than just ignore anything above the 512MB. That being said, I would not add more as 2 x 512MB to keep thing simple (In case of 2 x 1GB you would need a smaller ram stick just to set up win 98 and "tweak" it to ignore the extra ram instead of just booting one time with a single 512mb ram stick). And not to forget it's not a gaming mashine, it's more or less just a tool.
  7. That is the eeprom. E: Further infos : https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:EEPROM
  8. @Bowlsnapper If you can find something with Win 98 which is also capable of running Win XP it's almost perfect, Maybe it's an option to just gether some parts for that project. It's probably a bit more expansive but to have both 98/XP on hand in one mashine it's probably worth to spend a couple of bucks more.
  9. How would you connect the drive without having IDE on your MB? Don't say it. Maybe a PCIe to IDE could wörk but I personaly have not test it. I used a 15 Euros Dell Dimension 3000 and a old more or less free PC made from scap parts. But with the rest you are right. Put the flasher on the desk and run it. Or make your self an USB stick with FreeDOS or MSDos if you prefere and you are also able to flash the drive. When that is done just a little soldering and tada....
  10. @nikeymikey Do you do the PAL games as well or just the NTSC set?
  11. And you thinks it's easyer to have solder already on the pads which creates a "hill" which makes it harder to align the ram chip? Hmmmm..... So try one your way and then remove the solder from another ram bank and place the chip, add some flux and solder the chip that way. And ofc, tell us which way was easyer.
  12. Don't be ashamed of your work, post some pictures. Interesting. I remove the solder to have a nice clean pad to solder to which makes it way more easy. Anyway, if you have a different modchip on hand, test your xbox with it.
  13. Crystal is for poor ppl. So just pure cocain and actualy just 2 hookers.
  14. For a 1MB TSOP you can try the 3 wire trick first. May you get lucky. These are the boards I have : https://imgur.com/a/9idF17j One is the main adapter and the other than hold the chip. For the 1MB TSOP you need the 8bit adapter. For the 256kb ones you can either use the solder or solder less "doughterbord"
  15. Forget the recovery function. That function works only for old bioses like evox m7, iND, x2 and so on. If you had flashed a m8 for example the recovery funtion will not work. But since you bought a flasher you can simply desolder the TSOP and reflash it. Piece of cake. ANd to controll the TSOP you have to use a XBlast-Lite cuz the Aladdin ones didn't provide the needed pads to do a TSOP splitt. That being said, when you have a XBlast Lite in a XBox a splitt realy didn't make any seens since you already have a 512 and a 256 bank. Keeping the TSOP 1MB is the best thing in my opinion. You could flash a hidden EvoX to it though. (EvoX m8+ without EvoX logo, noDVD and booting the MS-Dash).
  16. Well well well.... Do you has read the included How to run the exploit save and ofc the Read Me first snappy? Rocky made a good job on how to explain how to use the exploids and which game versions are usable. And why da hell you forgot to copy shit to your HDD since it's written in the read me? And yeah, sry, was a little - let's call it busy - the last days.
  17. I would say it is way more interesting to make changes to XBlastOS and change the XBlast-Lite layout to fit a S29GL064S70TFI040 (8M x 8 / 4M x 16) flash to it. Not to sure if the 9572XL-10VQG44C could handle the bigger flash or if it also would need to be upgraded to a 10VQG64C but that is something which crosses my mind latley. This could give team resurgend also more room for there maybe upcoming XBLastOS mod (For got the name of it so shame on me).
  18. Updates available for: OGXBox XBlastOS MC TSOP Flasher v2.0.0 8MB BASIC (15.07.2023) OGXBox XBlastOS MC TSOP Flasher v2.0.0 32MB DEV (15.07.2023) So whats new? Updated Cerbios to v2.3.1. Removed everthing related to the softmodding tool which this flasher was based on. No more updates for the Pro (16MB) & TE/TEP (128MB) versions. Also pls take note that for the next build I will drop all bioses for MakeMHz and Titan. So if you want those, patch and add them on your own. Check the folder links in the first post for the DL.
  19. WOW. 1 hours till new your. I need to get something to drink. EDIT: Hey. wait. That posting is already 1 hour old. Damit. I missed new year.
  20. If you have a softmod running and use the option "6. Flash Cerbios 4 Softmod Users." it will format C to get rid of shadow partition and it also set's the partition up the C partition along with it a temp dash. And since there isn't a xbox to setup the HDD in cerbios format thats all what it does atm. And yes, cerbios.ini and BootAnim will be copied as well to C. However, E will stay untouched. Main reason is that I don't want to mess with the users files just to flash a bios (Game saves or anything else the user has on there). Remeber it's a flasher and until there shows up an app to setup a Cerbios HDD on the XBox, it will stay remain that way. So the user can and should decide whats next. There is a Welcome - Read Me in the temp dash which explains what he can and should do. Below 2TB use the OGXBox Installer. Above use Eatons FatXplorer. There is also the possibility that the user switch the HDD and may add an SATA adapter after the initial flash. So keeping this here simple or better to say basic as possible I a good thing imo - at least for now.
