  1. A hot swap will probably not work. Have you set the jumper on your new HDD right? They should be set to master (In some cases cable select). And what happend when you boot your XBox with the new HDD?
  2. On eBay (Germany) someone is selling a NOS xecuter 3 CE set & xapt3r Solderless Kit. But I think you will not pay 300 Euros for it.
  3. On the Installer are only 67 bioses (F+G). Could you tell me which of the 5003.67 you have flashed with which config so that I can take a look at the config?
  4. It works for him so if you think you can do it, go a head and give it a try.
  5. Desoldering gun or a Head Gun is what you need for this job. And with the iron set to 450°C you are killing the via's and near traces in no time. If you don't have the tools for the job, go and pay some one who has them and is able to do the job without killing someing.
  6. You should remove the clock cap ASAP and clean up the mess the cap has made with IPA (Top and bottom of the mainboard). Also check the traces when you have the board out (top and bottom side). After that see if your xbox works better. If not, it could be a sing of a diying hard drive.
  7. Error 11 = DVD Drive not found. Check your cables on your DVD drive and the mainboard. Some times the yellow wire didn't make a good connection or just comes loose. And consider flashing a noDVD drive bios.
  8. After a quick look I would guess that you have to decide for one patch. For example the HDD patch (there are not that much at all). After that you would need to google the needed HEX values to patch (Hex edit) the default.xbe your self to 720p. And if you have a DLC you would also need to find the offsets. Reason is, if you look at the DLC, 720p Patch and the HDD Fix, all replace the default.xbe. Which meens you would need to find and combine all the changes on your own and pray that it will work. I never saw a "HDD fix + 720p + DLC default.xbe" or "720p + DLC default.xbe". It is possible that those are out there somewhere but I don't have one. And I'm not going to try to make those. That would be somthing you have to make (try) on your own, not at least because I personaly are not much interested in these patches, DLC's or HDD fixes and I know that it is horrible work to make them, at least from my point of view (Pretty sure the spelling here is wrong so I hope you get the point).
  9. Again, it is on you to find that out. I am not the coder of any of these patches/DLC packs/fixes. And since I'm not realy a Gamer, I don't have used any of em. I just collected them and packed them all in one installer for convenience. The only thing I can tell is that all of them are work (in one way ot the other) because they are from trusty well known sources. You also have to understand one little thing, to use hacked patches/hacked DLC's is sometimes work. Install one game, use 1 patch and see what happens. Try the next. Didn't work? Start from scratch with patch/hack/dlc 2 first. After that repeat till you know what work in which order and in which combination. If a hack or patch didn't work but you have a DLC for it, play the DLC without the Hack/Patch. And don't expect that all patches and hacks are playing nice with each other. And one thing more. The most patches are for NTSC games and they will not work for PAL games (Just saying in case you try to use them on pal games). And like Dave wrote, your XBox has to be set to NTSC (Use the enigma switcher if needed) and you have to enable 480p and 720p in the MS Dashboard. And ofc you should enable 16:9 or Widescreen depending on your personal setup. And for all that you should have a RGB scart cable, a component cable or a some sort of HDMI solution (Wii2XBox, MakeMHz, n64 freak's HDMI, Pount HDMI ect.). I'm not sure here but I would think if you don't have the proper cable, you would end up with a black screen. So if I were you, I would wait till you have the right cable/Adapter.
  10. Thats right. Not to sure here. I would start with the update and then install the DLC. The 720p patches are "hacked" original game XBE's. If they work with updates or if they need the base game without them, is a thing you have to find out on your own (Also depends on if the original xbe will be replaced). I haven't made them so can't tell. I would guess that the DLC isn't a problem but maybe the update. You can make a backup of your folders. If something goes worng, simply restore your backup folder. Thats what I would do. Backup your game folder and test it out. Like I wrote, I didn't have made them. I have just put toghter all DLC, Patches and Updates which I have found in the EvilWeb and put them on this disc. Like Dave already wrote, that is what fixed it. You can also calibrate the installer screen in the menu 7 (7.1). And it's not realy a bug of the installer. It's more a bad calibrated TV (at least in my opinion).
  11. We had that topic already. And some ppl. do read those (which makes my work not totaly useless). How ever, I don't think that's a bug at all, it's more like a bad calibrated screen which can be changed in the menu 7.1 (Totaly forgot that Unleash offers the option to do so). So I'm not going to make changes to the read me's, skin ect..
  12. Menu : 7.1. Basic Live System Settings. There you can set the right screen size (Screen Calibration).
  13. Hmmm.... If it would be a 5:4 monitor I would say it's the skin. I testet it on my 2 TV's and on my monitor and don't have that problem (one or 2 pixel but thats it). If I where Apple I would say "You just look at it wrong" but sadly, I'm not Apple. But when I look at your pic above, could it be possible that the "overscan" of the TV is set a little wide? I realy don't know how I can adjust the size with the skin (guess that's not even possible?). I could try to set the ratio for the skin to something like 640 x 480 and see if that would fix the problem (but maybe it would strech things out then, I need to test that). Maybe it could also be a problem with the settings in the MS Dash (Wide / 16:9 / 5:4) which are set wrong? I mean, if there is only a half letter missing which can be read without a problem, it shouldn't be a huge deal right? One thing I could do, IF I'm realy realy bored is, I can add one or two empty sings in front of each row but I would not hold my breath for it tbh.
  14. Hell no. Your XBox is now up and running like they should so do not touch her! And because the yesDVD bios has fixed the problem, I can tell 100% that the headparking was/is the problem that prevents your XBox booting with a noDVD bios. What cable do you use for your XBox?
  15. I had never a probelm with them and as far as I know no other user had problems with them. The TXT open ful screen but they should not going bigger as the screen is. And you HDD or the content on it has nothing to do with it.
  16. The yesDVD bioses are for WD green users (and ppl. who don't like nodVD for what ever reason) and these bioses can be used without the drive parking disabled.
  17. The HDD should be set to master (in the first place) or to cable select.
  18. Any HDD which isn't locked to another XBox or PC ect. should work. And the installer should see it on boot that you have a non XBox HDD/New HDD in your XBox and it should create the needed partition table and then it should boot on. You could put the HDD in your USB enclosure and in windows you could delete the entire partitioning. After that you could try again to boot the HDD with the installer. And power up the XBox with the DVD already in your XBox DVD drive.
  19. Just put it in your XBox and put the installer in your DVD and power the xbox up. The installer should detect the new hdd on boot and you are good to go.
  20. Download the Ultimate Boot CD <--- (Link). I'm pretty sure thats the best you can do without messinng arround with ms dos for usb and with drivers ect.. Download, Brun, Boot, Disbale and done. Mrs. Edit : Ultimate Boot CD Mirror : https://1fichier.com/?y6h31ipfio9e5mzt75op
  21. Why not use BootCamp and a Windows 7 VM and then burn it with ImgBurn/ImgBurnPortable? I don't know nothing (not much) about Mac. Or maybe a frind or neighbor could burn the ISO with ImgBurn. I realy think the Mac is the problem OR your DVD media (Thats why 99 of 100 user say Verbatim DVD-R (Or you are on of these lucky ppl. which have a XBox DVD drive that can still read DVD-RW). Last option, if you are located somewhere in europe I could burn a DVD and send it to you.
  22. But now you have a "modern" bios which don't support the WD Green HDD's out of the box. They will work with an cheapo SATA adapter from amazon. MSDos, FreeDos, DOS on a USB stick (+app). Or if you are to lazy for that download the " Ultimate Boot CD " which will boot into DOS and has this tool already on it. Tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEUVsXlfJME
  23. Ok we are a step further and it is safe to say that the problem is caused by your WD Cavier which, I guess (HUGE guess), is a WD Cavier green since only these show these behavior. If yu already has downloaded the Tool Pack there is a app called "wdidle3 v1.05 (WD Green HDD).zip". When you unzip it you can installed it to your PC and, then you can connect your HDD to your PC. After that you can disable the headparking function for the green drives. When thats done, the HDD should boot as normal.
  24. The dafault is CEE - evoxdash.xbe but at the end all bios files search for a evoxdash.xbe either on C or E. How ever, the bios is fine, that is what I can say for sure, but I don't get why it will not boot the DVD. For "normal" only the WD Green have that problem when the head parking function is active. I assume, that when you remove the DVD from the tray, your xbox will still not boot ? Because, even the HDD had a softmod on it, there should be an evoxdash.xbe on C.\ which should be found from the bios. And she should boot the DVD anyway. What does the xbox do when you try to boot an original Game DVD? And btw. The XBox will not boot without a HDD. One more question, which version of the installer has you load? The non MakeMHz one? EDIT: I searched quick for "WD Caviar" and there is a Green and a Blue version. So it would be realy helpfull if you can say which one. In case it is the green one, you just need a tool to disable the headparking on your pc and the problem is solved.
