Hey guys, all my original controllers are out of commission for now unless until i can fix them, if i even can. I have a few 3rd party controllers but all the joysticks just feel awful, i don't know if its the dead zone or the sensitivity or both but wow they just do not feel good. Anyone know a way to help with this? I dont know if i can install some other joysticks or if its possible to modify the ones in them already or what. Honestly might just be time to buy or build that wireless xbox360 controller mod.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do. Those 3rd party controllers are all crap -- every single one of them. Look around the internet for a replacement OEM controller. Make sure there are good pics of the controller. Check out the joysticks for signs of wear indicating heavy use. If at all possible, try your best to stay away from controllers made in Malaysia due to brittle plastic

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. Also, if it's stupid I'm sorry, I don't really know anything about electronics yet.
I'm thinking about the possibility to convert the memory units ports of the S controller to put in a lithium battery and something like a bluetooth transmitter. I'm totally noob, so actually I don't know if this would actually work, with a usb bluetooth receiver plugged in or wired to one of the controller ports. Since it is the original controller no drivers would be needed and it should work like it was plugged in with a cable.
I was also thinking about using the same kind of transmitters that are used in keyboards or mouses.
I made some research on the net but seems that nobody did or even tried doing something like this with an S controller. Is that because this mod won't actually work?

Could somebody please post an example of reading controller button status (eg. which button is pressed) in assembly...?

xbox controllers are made in an annoying way so that the buttons are not easily fixed when the they stop registering. i don't know the terms here so i'm going to describe what i'm trying ask as best possible. i'm also really tired and my brain is about half asleep. anyway, the pcb has something similar to black tape with the little black pads under it instead of having the black pads on the rubber thing itself(the rubber piece that goes under the buttons). so it is very difficult to replace that tape thing when buttons presses stop registering. has anyone made a modified rubber thing with the black pads made onto it so the black tape can be peeled off and thrown away?
