Question regarding FatXplorer

Recommended Posts

I created a backup drive about a year ago mainly for cloning services if needed. I followed an online tutorial guide from, "Borderline OCD" on Youtube due to my interest in Cerbios at the time. I've I never had any issues before this, but for some reason my backup drives won't show the F: drive when loaded into FatXplorer which is where I placed almost 99% of my game backups and other larger files. I just find it strange that none of these HDD"s/SSD's have been altered in anyway and now FatXplorer can't find F: to mount it. Any help would be great. I'm hoping I wont have to start fresh or something because that would suck. Maybe it's something regarding the latest version of FatXplorer? Thanks in advance.
Here's the options I chose during formatting.

Your C/E are way too big. The guide you followed said to increase them? Is the drive formatted in Cerbios or lba with table?

I actually only did that C/E increase for this particular cloning process this time around normally they're like 2gb or much less. Within my Xbox systems there's no issues running anything with these drives and FTP sees and works as per usual. As for formatting, I just use FatXplorer to do it. I don't do it within Cerbios or LBA. As I said up until recently I've always been able to see my F partition without issue. Jus strange is all.  Here is the layout of the main drive for the cloning process.

FatX has multiple formatting options. LBA with Table for normal use, or Cerbios for allowing F to go up to 16TB. Your F is over 1TB, so I assume you chose the Cerbios option, but your cluster is quite large, 128 is all that's needed.

If you didn't choose the Cerbios option, that's makes sense, as anything over the 1TB partition can't be seen. If so, reformat F and G using LBA with Table, and set each to 927.78GB, using 64kb clusters.

I see what you're asking. I did use the Cerbios option during the start of the formatting. I'm talking with Eaton on the FatExplorer forum and he's trying to figure out if it's the beta version I'm using since it doesn't have an option called, "F-takes-all Override" which would allow for my F partition to show up.

I've never seen the Override option, I just click Max next to F and it does it.

This is for after the HDD has been formatted and partitioned already. It's an option that can allow FatXplorer to show files that are in F and are present within the Xbox but for some reason can't be seen in FatXplorer. This option also didn't solve my issue so I had to create a support ticket with them. Even, Eaton is finding it strange at this point. LOL "It's always something" should be a top selling shirt brand within the modding community.

I'm not understanding I guess. You aren't able to mount the partitions after the format?

We solved the issue. Basically the original HDD I built a year ago and cloned was a 2tb, but to save money I started using 1tb SSD's since the total image size was only 850gb of total information anyways. By cloning the original 2tb drive onto a 1tb it was causing FatXplorer to glitch out basically saying that my F drive went an entire terabyte beyond the end of the disk. So I will have to completely restart the process at this time from the looks of it.
