Bowlsnapper
I'm attempting to flash the official wireless D-Link firmware to the adapter. I'll look for the firmware now.
Bowlsnapper
Maybe I shouldn't do this... as per a post from @KaosEngineer on reddit: I tried upgrading the software and was never able to get it to work. The D-Link software only adds support for WPA, not WPA2. If you get it to work. After the firmware update, you will have to configure the MN-740 from a web browser. The Xbox's stock dashboard can no longer be used to change the MN-740's settings as it could with the original firmware. Edit: Give up on the MN-740. Buy a new wired to wireless Ethernet bridge. Marty
A pocket/mini router would cost you less than $40 and you can use it for a lot more things.

Oh I know. Just wanted to see if I could actually use the adapter instead of sitting on it. I can buy an old router with wep strictly for use with the Xbox, as long as I know I can configure it in a way that keeps the chain of networking behind it secure. I basically have a small enterprise setup in this house since my dad was an IT manager for 30 years. Don't want to expose his network.
