So it's an IDE drive, eh? Retro! The Aladdin is from AliExpress? Mmmmmmmeh. I would get an XBlast Aladdin from modzville. Easy to recommend since I just got one. A LOT easier to flash with XBlast menu onboard and a lot more options. Worth the few extra bucks (28.00 or so with shipping). Yeah the Ali Aladdins are 5 bucks, but you get what you pay for. If it's preflashed, it's probably ind or evox. You're able to boot the stock dashboard, yes? What does the boot animation look like? Are you able to take pics? Is the purple evox logo on the corner? You should be able to flash with the installer disc if you have Cerbios ftpd to your HDD, although I would have to verify that. @sweetdarkdestiny Edit: link now works. Sorry. I don't even know if you can flash your Aladdin actually since the AliExpress versions,iirc, have counterfeit sst chips and need to be flashed with a programmer. The CPLD freaks out. Like I said, modzville XBlast Aladdin. Totally worth it and a lot less trouble. But if you have a bios on there, you should at least be able to use it with a 120 gig IDE drive. And you can get started with a dashboard. ... If it was previously modded, where the hell IS the dashboard anyway? Why is there only the MS Dash? Any clue as to the history of the console? That'll give you some ideas as to what the Aladdins of the time were like when it came to flashing. It was only last year... When i took apart i saw moddchip on motherboard .So I burned that ogxbox on to dvd. You left f untouched! Good man! And you have an MS Dash for editing the EEPROM. I'm glad it worked for you and that you're up and running! I prefer Xbmc and just adding sources for games, applications, etc. But back in the day I used to use Evolutionx as a dash... but it was pretty. Lol... So little experience when I was 17... How much free space is there left? And what did you do to fix the problem it had? I'm still a little unclear on what that problem was... It turned off when he pressed power?... Isn't that normal?
