  1. Hello everybody, i got a Xbox 1.1 with Xecuter3 chip installed (soldered, purple one) here. It comes with a power and a component cable. The compontent cable was made by myself (3rd party plug + og sd-av cable) and does not show any noise (no ghosting or etc., refer to pictures). In addition the package includes a Duke controller and a controller s. Everything is in very good shape and works perfectly, only the Duke's cable insulation got a little bit loose that does not affect the the functionality in any way. I did also some refurbishment: - Clock capacitor was removed - mobo's top side was cleaned with spirit (94% alc.) - fresh thermal paste was applied on cpu and gpu - the jammed Samsung DVD-drive was replaced with a Philips DVD-drive. - installed a Samsung 400gb HDD (HD400LD, IDE) with coinops 8 massive and 80+ xbox games pre-installed (total of over 4000 games) This package costs 450 € + shipping fee (via PayPal, shipping from Germany, EU only). Feel free to ask me any question. Best regards elmemo
  2. Hi, I just acquired a 1.0 xbox for 10€ , the guy told me that the console wasn't able to read discs, so i try to put a disc on it, it works but painfully , sometime it does (the loading time takes a long time, and the boot aswell), sometime it just don't (it goes to the ms dash like there is no disc on it), but i decided to hardmod it anyway since i'm not planing to use the dvd drive (already have all of my backups on my other xboxes). I first softmoded it with the splinter cell exploit, then i solder the bridges to flash a 256bits EVOX M8+ (F and G) bios with the hexen disc ( i wasn't sure if the 512bits was the one to choose or not), i installed an 250gb HDD from another xbox that was hardmoded aswell, but didn't bother to format it, since it has the same configuration. I made i backup of the eeprom just in case, installed XBMC4gamers, tried some games and emulators, and so far so good. BUT, once i'm in a game and want to go back to my main dash (XBMC4gamers), the console has this weird behavior, the led are blikning green, i can hear the dvd drive spin two times, while the console reboot, it has the microsoft logo, then it restart again to finally come to my main dash. Basically it's take just a little bit longer, so it's not like she didn't reboot at all, but still, it's quite annoying.. And it only does that with XBMC4gamers, as for Unleashx it's just reboot the console like she normally would. I tried to clean the hdd, by removing the xbmc folders to avoid any conflict, but that didn't change anything Any ideas why it does that? Cheers
  3. Hello i have a xbox with a almost dead hard drive and a dvd drive that works barely. The previous owner performed a tsop very long ago and that's why i believe that i can boot to hexen without the hard drive, also i saw some solder residue on the pads to unlock the bios protection. (Cleaned the old solder and bridged the points again) I have a 1.4 with a Windbond and focus chip, the main problem that i have is that i can't move the options in the Gentoox because my only working controller seems to be a fake controller or at least the original pcb was replaced with a generic one, someone told me on the Xbox-hq forums that i can just drop the bios file on C:/Bios . Can i boot HEXEN and ftp the bios file from there? Also what bios do you recommend? I can't decide beetween evo m8 or iND-BiOS.5004.67 Thanks for your time.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm a new user, have xbox I don't know what version it is, modchip is Aladdin XT with bios M8plus, but a strange thing happens when I turn on the console by holding down the power button 2 seconds it turns on but when I start any game via the evox 3935 dashboard gets stuck on the loading screen, the chip appears to be deactivated....the power button turns green..after 5 seconds it is power on.
  5. This may be of interest to some. It saves having to Soft-Mod to flash the TSOP. I know is low quality video but you should get the idea SS Dave Those that can Hard-Mod. Those that can't Soft-Mod.
  6. OK. I just put together a Ver 1.2 XBOX with IND 5004 bios. During the bios boot I get these thin vertical red lines. I have always used a EVOX 8m bios and have never had this problem before. I'm wondering if this is normal with this bios? It looks fine when fully booted into Unleash X. I don't have another IDE to SATA adaptor. So it's either in the Bios itself or the adaptor. I only have one of the cheap chinese adaptors here. Anybody got any thoughts?
  7. I found an original xbox. I don't know much about it. It was opened, but I doubt that it was modded. I bought cables, which were lacking. I tried to connect it to my flat panel tv via a composite to HDMI converter. I can see the blue screen on the HDMI channel, and I can see it switch from 720 to 1080p, so I am convinced that is working. I never see anything from the XBOX though. All I get is a flashing green light. I don't have any idea of what's wrong or how to go about fixing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I accidentally wiped my EEPROM with an Arduino when trying to read it, and have no backup. Now even with Config Magic's valid blank EEPROM, there's no video out. Only a green blink code (34? It's 3 fast and 4 slow blinks) Now I'm wondering if there's any way to fix it. This rarely happens, so there's not much info on the net about it. I'm thinking even if I got a modchip such as openXenium, the motherboard might be useless. Should I give up on this yet and just get another box, or get the modchip (already prepped the v1.6 board with headers and LPC rebuild)? Can the modchip make it boot with bad EEPROM data? Eventually, I got the Arduino code reliably reading and writing data, but even with the 'valid blank' EEPROM data, that hasn't helped so far.
  9. I am selling my version 1.6 Xbox in a transparent ghost case. It has built in red cold cathodes, a Xerc XE, internally mounted microsoft dvd dongle, and 2TB hard drive. On the hard drive are all NTSC released games, all of the exclusive NTSC-J games, and some of the exclusive PAL games. Here is a video of the Xbox I am talking about https://youtu.be/jkzSsg6hWrg I am asking $300 USD for this Xbox. PM me if you are interested.
  10. Hi, I've just cleaned up an old xbox to keep around as a spare. I've cleaned and lubed the drive mechanism in the DVD drive, all is moving smoothly and reading discs perfectly. The only problem is that, when opening the tray, the open/close button light keeps flashing while open, and after a few seconds, the tray closes by itself. It's not stopping me from playing games, but I'd like to get it back to working as it should. Does anyone know if this sounds like something that's easy to fix? Thanks very much. -Bob
  11. Hey guys, I've had issues with my xbox for quite some time now. It is a 1.1, 128mb, TSOP flashed with Ind-Bios. Many games wouldn't boot, no matter what, tried different sources, settings whatsoever. Some games gave me a direct black screen when trying to run, some would boot but then lock up on the loading screen. So today I tried running Hexen2018 from the download section here from my hdd, but as i wasn't sure which bios to flash i chickened out and exited without doing anything. To my suprise my xbox no longer booted into XBMC4Gamers, but into unleashX, the first two times without showing the IND-BIOS boot up. As obviously something had changed I tried to run some of the games that hung on a black screen before, and suddenly they worked. The other games that hung on loading screen still didn't work, but I was glad Halo finally booted on me, as I wanted to play it for ages. But after a couple of reboots, the IND-BIOS bootup reappeared and my xbox started showing the same behavior as before. Halo gave me a black screen again, as five minutes before it was working. Anyone knows what might be the problem here? Do I need to reflash my BIOS maybe or use some other?
  12. I successfully unlocked a hard drive with 500GB worth of xbox games and emulators on it. Now I want to lock it using the eeprom from my xbox so I can install it. I unlocked it using HDM V1.9 - I also have a second console if I need to use chimp. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
  13. Hi, I have put this on the Facebook group also. I have an X2.6 chip in an old v1.0 Xbox and I was going to pull it out and put it in a different one however the PCB with the bank switches has gone missing. No idea where it is. What are my options? Ideally would like to have the full functionality and flash it again. Anyone have the switch PCB and want to part with it has anyone done their own switches for it? The ribbon cable to the non existent switch PCB is intact.
  14. Hi, Love this forum and got a lot of great info from here. Recently I dusted of my good old softmod and gave this all a go again after many years. I was able to tsop the xbox and install a larger harddisk. My friends picked up on the idea of having a xbox with emustation and asked me to build one for them as well. So I ended up buying and working on 6 xboxes and harddrives that all went trough their own struggle to get the job done but hey, I made it. Thing is though, at some point I used chimp to format a 500gb WD and it locked it by the end of the session in one of the xboxes. this drive ended up not being used and now I want to use it again but I do not know what xbox it's from. Being all wel prepped I did read all the eeproms from al the xboxes trough simple serial eeprom reader. Extracted them straight of the board with no issues but the sidenote is I never did with this 500gb WD hdd installed. And this is where my confusion is, because what I understand is the eeprom is xbox specific. And the harddrive password is generated trough the hdd serial number and model based on the eeprom. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). So all the eeproms I have when I read them in live info beta 3 show me other harddrives. So I connected the harddrive to my ide port refreshed the disk managment, it pops up under disk# and I try to select it in live info without any luck. I tried running chimp in order to unlock the hdd in the slave disk options with all the available eeproms but had no luck. Basically, and I'm sorry this is a long read, I'm trying to find a way to backwards engineer my hdd locking code with the 6 eeproms I have available that all state a different make/brand/sn hdd. Thank you in advance Pascal
  15. Hello guys,i have a question. How can i softmod my xbox using a modern pc and ide to sata adapter?I tried with xplorer360 but every time it says could not find fatx drive.I hot swapped drive using two methods.I heard that you can softmod it with ide to sata adapter using xboxhdm23usb.Is that true, and if yes,how to do it?
  16. Hi all, I'm talking about 1 of the 2 XBOXes I bought used. I am in the process of cleaning them as best as possible. One was sold as modded and is clearly modchipped/TSOPed, as it displays "Xecuter2" on boot just by pressing the power button once. So I disassembled the other one, sold without any mention about modchip. Because I didn't know it was modchipped I was going to clean dust and remove clock capacitor but when I tore it apart I did see this chip installed on board: After a good cleaning and putting it back I tried to power it on by pushing power button for 2-3 seconds and I get a bootscreen with "Xecuter2" mark instead of "Microsoft", but I have the same (stock) dashboard as before. I did read that before removing the clock capacitor, having a modchip installed, I must use a suitable (kinda new) BIOS in order to avoid "clock loop" problem. Now that I'm there, what can I do to update this modchip? I have TruHexen2019 dvd iso downloaded from somewhere, if could be useful. I'm kinda familiar with tweaking things in general, as well as other consoles, but I'm just a noob about Xbox modding, so please be kind and patient
  17. Hello, I am writing this today to see about getting some help with my 1.6 Xbox and the Xeceuter 2.6 CE installed in it. I recently did this motherboard mod involving a resistor to extend the life of the board and the board works fine after the install. This is also where I managed to find an issue. With the mod chip enabled, both banks load up their respective bioses, but when I disable the mod chip using the front panel switch, the console Frags after 3 tries. When I disconnect the LFrame wire from the mod chip, the console boots up like normal to the stock dash using the stock bios. Before the mod though, disabling the mod chip using the front panel switch worked liked normal. So now I am a point where I made a modification to extend the life of the console, but lost some functionality in my mod chip at the same time. I am wondering if anybody knows what would cause the issue I described and if anybody else has ever run into similar issues. Though I know most don't tend to mod 1.6 consoles if the can avoid it. I'm also curious if anybody else happens to have an Xbox motherboard that is warped around the CPU and GPU area. By warped, I mean that I can see a curve in the motherboard around that area. Thanks, DobaMuffin
  18. I apologize if this has been covered but I came up empty when searching. So I finally powered on my OG Xbox with X3CE and X3CP after many years. The bios was old (3294) so figured I would update. Flashed 5035 and everything is working, however for some reason when booting with the white button pressed Config Live doesn't load. Any ideas?
  19. Hello, is there a possibility to exchange the DVD drive of the xbox for a PC drive?
  20. So im working with a v1.0 xbox and I am trying to install the img from a 2tb Origins build. I have my original HDD softmodded and it is working fine. I was able to null the original HDD key and pull the EEPROM off and after successfully mounting the img to a new 2TB HDD was able to lock it with the pulled EEPROM with XBHDM. When I turn on the system with the new HDD it will show the xbox logo with "Microsoft" in white on the bottom, then it goes to a black screen. The LED stays green. Looking around I saw suggested that this meant that the softmod or .xbe was broken or that the shortcut linked to the needed .xbe didn't exist, so using XBHDM and Xplorer360 i was able to get into the new HDD and I was messing around with the config and .xbe files and got it to work at one point (kinda, and i'm not sure what exactly made it work, i know i know i should have taken better notes of what i was doing but this was a several day process and I had tried like 50+ different modifications/combinations). It would boot into a black screen as normal but when i opened up the disk drive the screen would flash and I would get another xbox logo splash screen without the Microsoft in white on the bottom, the LED would turn orange, and then it would boot up into the new dashboard/image. That worked fine for a few hours, even after disconnecting power and reconnecting. Then all of the sudden it stopped going to the new dashboard and img when opening the disk drive and the screen will stay black (i figured it may be an issue with taking a long time to load so i've let it sit there for 15min+ and nothing happens). I am at a complete loss, im somewhat tech savy but I have no idea how to even approach this fix. Any help would be much appreciated and I thank you in advance! Edit - I used the Splintercell save to softmod via USB, which worked fine to softmod with the old HDD. With the new HDD in it will not load any disks, be it the Splinter Cell game, Hexen Tools, or the Rocky5 Softmod Extras, and I cannot do anything but power off when its on the black screen.
  21. I have an unused 80GB 2.5" IDE HDD bought for an old laptop which died before I got around to fitting it. The problem or maybe not a problem is the 2.5" IDE to 3.5" IDE adapter. I've found what I think are suitable ones on Ebay/Amazon (F 2.5" with M 3.5" to connect to the IDE cable). But the thing I'm not sure about is the power supply. The ones I've found have a (F) Molex connector + cable but only wired with red and black cables. This I assume is 5v and ground ie. normal Molex power connections. Is this enough to power the 2.5" HDD? It should be but it got me thinking about why the Xbox HDD power supply has both 5v and 12v connections (red + ground and yellow + ground) if they're not both needed. If a standard 3.5" HDD in the Xbox needs more than 12v available perhaps a 2.5" HDD needs more than 5v too. Knowledgeable advice appreciated.
  22. Okay, so I really messed up. I recently got back two 1.6 Xboxes that I haven't had for ages, immediately set out to soft mod them. Looked up and used the Rocky5 kit, worked perfectly, got the first one up fine. But then when I went to FTP some files to it and noticed the Partitions were setup in a way that my file wouldn't fit. Found a partitioning tool called Xbpartitioner 1.3b or something like that, and without doing any research I transferred it to the Xbox to resize the HDD partition. This erased the Rocky5 dashboard and put up an UnleashedX dashboard. I hadn't access to DVDs, so wanted to install the Rocky5 Extra Disc to the Xbox and run it from there. Found some type of program that claimed to mount and run the Extras Disc, performed the upgrade, Xbox came back to an error message. (Error Message 13). Some Googling says that this appears to happen when the dashboard can't be loaded. I softmodded the other Xbox successfully using the same Rocky5 setup and it's working fine. I was hoping to clone the working Xbox drive over to bricked one, but Chimp is listing the drive as locked and I can't access the EEPROM key. I believe the Rocky5 mod backs up to the HDD in the E:\ Directory, but I also believe the partition may have erased it? I went out, got some DVDs and burned the Extras Disc. It doesn't run in the Bricked Xbox, but loads up fine in the new one. The bricked HDD no longer contains the Exploited Savegames I used to initiate the softmod. I can load Retail games, but booting the dashboard leads to the error message (Error 13). Also saw suggestions to insert an Xbox Live game like Halo 2. This did not work either, the game simply reloaded instead of returning to the Dashboard. So basically what can I do here? Should I be looking to get an IDE to USB converter, so that I can copy the Exploited Savegames onto the HDD and re-load the Softmod? Should I be trying to get the EEPROM backup of the E:\ Drive, assuming it wasn't formatted? Is there something else I can do? I've done lots of searching and haven't found anyone else as stupid as me.
  23. Hi, Awaiting a few parts from ebay im getting ready to put in a new, bigger sata-hdd in my hardmodded Aladdin chipped 1.6 xbox. (Recently bought it, and it was already modded). I see the 2019 Hexen iso in our forum, but for it says "you are not allowed to download this". So im going with 2018. I`ve never done this myself before, leading to my question: When i run the Hexen disc and prep the new drive (partitions and such) which dashboards will Hexen allow me to choose from? EvoX or UnleashX are the ones I have experience with from 15 years ago, so I am thinking I want to have one of them on my xbox. Thoughts or recommendations? Thanks so much for this awesome forum!
  24. Purchased a Xbox V 1.0 that has the Xecuter X3 mod chip, unit wouldn't even boot at time i received it ( sorry been otta this for like forever and just getting back into it ). After numerous trials and errors i finally got it to boot up, switch configuration on front. Anyways seems like its missing the backup that should be on the mod chip itself, doesn't seem to matter what i try cannot find it, other problem is it only stays on maybe 45 mins and shuts down, i think its a power supply issue, going to try another power supply this weekend since i do have a good replacement for this version. Other issues is cannot turn unit on with power button, only with the eject button, also another weird issue is when its first plugged in it comes on without touching any button on the front, lots of strange issues going on here, maybe someone may have a bit of insight to help resolve these problems. First thing i did was remove clock cap, had leaked a little but not bad at all, area around it got a very good cleaning and looks great
  25. I recently switched to ind5004 from x2-5035. Seems like since I switched, I have a harder time when I ftp. Is there settings I should look at? If so, how?
