    Homebrew Games

What's the best homebrew games you can get for the system?
  2. On a modded PS2 and Wii you can play games directly from iso images. This can also be done a Xbox. You just need some tools, some attach/default.xbe's the correct bioses and some dashboards. I have tried to follow a tread on xbmc4xbox and another one on emuxtras on how to do this. But I gave up as it was unclear to me where to get hold of the attach.xbe file and also if i had to re-flash my bios to make this work. I wonder if someone here can make a good tutorial on how to make this work. ( I use xbmc4gamers as my main dash, And i have two xboxes, one with evox m8+ and one with indbios 5004. ) Thanks,
  3. Hello everyone, some may be familiar with the 720p patches thread on the Emuxtras website. I want to make a thread here as well so they won't be lost. Many patches have been made(by various contributors) with many (near) perfect conversions. Some games require a 128MB or even a CPU modded Xbox, like the ones made by N64 Freak. But many also run on the a standard 64MB Xbox. IPS patches are really small (just a few KB's) and only contain the modified hex values and on what position in the binary they should be modified. You will need an application that can apply IPS patches if you want to use them. You can use Lunar IPS https://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/ but there are also others. Because the patches are only a few KB's this means it is also a good candidate to patch them directly on the Xbox in XBMC. This is also why I have named the patches after the game ID's and denoted the target Xbox (64MB, 128MB CPU) to facilitate this. There is a project called python-ips( https://pypi.org/project/python-ips/) which runs on python version 2.7 (supported on XBMC) which seems to apply the patches correctly and can create backups. I might look into creating a XBMC python script that incorporates python-ips. But unfortunately I probably won't have too much time to do it and since I am unfamiliar with the XBMC specific syntax it will take a while. However if someone wants to pick this up before me than that is fine. This also goes for other making additional patches. Some of the better games that seem to run amazingly were made by Silverrock see videos of Doom 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZf3CqUc_hs) and Darkwatch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhOPzUNW7Bo) I will add the patches here soon. You can check them out on Emuxtras if you want them now. here are some screenshots of some of the games.
  4. The xbox cracking scene released quite a few hdd fixes and patches for games.. These are normally just patches to run on default.xbe's. I wonder if anyone here have a collection of those to share. I am especially looking for r-fchdfix ( fight club hdd fix from Riot (ntsc) ) and a hdd fix for shin megami tensei nine.
  5. I have two consoles 1.0 and 1.4 witch tsop. The same bios and systems, the disks are also the same. On the console 1.0 pal games dark screen and then the dashboard returns. Ntsc ok. Any suggestions? Eprom error?
  6. Okay, I don't have a ton of time but I just found a way to play games such as JSRF, Fable, and the others on a 1.6 console without disc swapping, requiring the original dash, anything. This, however requires a softmodded console with UnleashX (May work on other dashboards, I have not tested) The steps are as follows: Turn on your console and allow it to get to the dashboard. Select system, then settings. Go all the way to the bottom where Video Display is and select it. Turn off 480p and if not turned on, turn on 720p, and 1080i. Then, have fun and launch your game, I believe this actually forces it into 480i which is not accessible from unleashx. I found this out by playing with the settings, you sadly can't play in 480p, but hey, that's the price to pay, I'm just trying to give an option to you folks with UnleashX.
  7. My PS1 set fails to transfer all the games. I think i read somewhere that there is a cap of how many files can fit in a folder. Can i make a second folder for roms like in MAME?
  8. Hey everyone, I wanted to start a discussion/thread about games that are in perfect working condition but for some reason the DVD Drive is too old or stubborn to read the game. I of course have 2 consoles both with Thompson drives and I found (so far) that neither will read the following games: 1. Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball 2. Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring. Both discs are in pristine condition but UnleashX and DVD2XBOX give a "Tray Empty" message. I did a Google search for these and it seems others have the same problems with these 2 games being read on a Thompson Drive. I wanted to know what other games and drives folks are having issues with. Hope to hear from you all. Thanks, Larry
  9. There's a few games not working on faster cpu. Does anyone know how to get Return to Castle Wolfenstein (NTSC) to run with a faster cpu ? (1 ghz, 1.4 ghz) ? On startup it dIsplays the first copyright screen and then it freezes just before loading the ESRB notice. HDD spins down to low activity. Same result happens if I use xbepatcher on the default.xbe. On my stock xbox this game runs just fine.
  10. Hey guys, id like to see your collections! What you have or what you plan on getting. think itd be nice to see what you guys have laying around. Whats the story on it? Where you got it etc... (Game consoles, Games, or hardware from any manufacturer, Genre or era) no PC stuff please unless it is a dev kit of some kind. Post away!! Anyone have a "Panasonic Q" or "Game Q" I think that may be the first console i buy to start my real collection. And heres what i currently have laying around. with more coming in the future.
  11. Hello, I just softmodded my Xbox I just got this week using Rocky5. I followed Mr.Mario11's softmod tutorial and every screen corresponded. I used the softmod tools extras kit and installed the Stock MS Dash 5960. Now when I put in a game disk, the xbox logo runs with sound and then the screen goes black when trying to load game disk(have tried different CDs). I tried to FTP a game to HDD. Xbox logo loads, am able to get rocky5 dash but game does not load(Have tried different games). When loading from HDD, xbox color of disk ejection is orange still. Xbox had not been opened, original HDD. I have tried different A/V cables. It always loads the first dashboard but not the second one. Does anyone know how to fix this?
  12. I've recently transplanted my failing and old IDE hard drive to a 2tb expansion with new ribbon cable. Also updated Unleash X to latest build. After I finished this I started to play games like Fight Night Round 3 where you cycle through different character bulids and such.. when customizing it looks like my drive is freezing up. I've also noticed that when trying to play emulation front ends like coinops 8 the loading of some of the larger games like Killer Instinct freeze the system as well. Could the corruption of the old drive follow to the new drive? When I did the system transfer the only items I transferred were the eeprom partitions and saves. I was thinking maybe nulling the drive and then reformatting the other partitions might work? But wanted to see if there are any other suggestions. I've also attempted to launch these in xbmc4gamers but this also causes freezing. Not sure if that should be a separate topic or not.
  13. Dear All, Has any of you has a collection of original xbox games fixes, like enabling widescreen and so on, like for instance the website underneath has some fixes to apply for hex editors, tried doing it on Auto Modellista and it didn't work something I did wrong, is there anywhere someone you had already applied these fixes and packed all together? http://ps2wide.net/xbox.html Thanks
  14. I've got a little over 100 games that i've FTP'd to my xbox. I downloaded and resized covers to use for icons. I can add them manually to about half of them but once I get so far through the list, UnleashX will restart and then when I go back into the games list some of the ones I've added are gone. Is there a better way to do this? Am I doing something wrong? I'm just kinda puzzled that it's working perfectly for about the first 50 games and then I get this issue
  15. So I stumbled across the PS1 emulator for the original Xbox and I thought great. So I load it on a bunch of games and to my disappointment a lot of them did not run great. Game such a Silent Hill and Resident Evil some of the consoles best. The original Xbox could not handle some of the graphical demands the PS1 could deliver. So I took it upon myself to see what is available to run good on pcsxbox v22b22 I loaded on an FTP over over a hundred original PS1 games. And I tested every single one over the course of a couple days. The results are in. Now I know emulation is not perfected for the PS1 but I wanted to know what kind of a game list I could put together with what is available now Surprisingly to see frames per second in some games did not matter. I am including frames per second in the list. But please look past it. This does not mean the game is not running good.. a game could be running as little as 10 or 12 frames per second and still be totally playable if you did not see the frames per second in the top left corner of the emulator.. Every game in this list below is totally playable on this emulator running 1.5 core version I did not change anything and I booted the cue file. Here is the list of what has passed play ability test so far (dec 26 2017) Batman Forever the arcade game - 20 FPS Bomberman world - 30fps Bust-a-move 99 -17fps Bubble Bobble featuring rainbow Islands -45fps Bust A Move 4 -17fps Capcom vs SNK Millennium fight - 22fps Castlevania Symphony of the Night -25fps Diablo -17fps Doom - 13-15 fps Evil Dead Hail to the King -30+ fps Grand Theft Auto 1 -20+ fps Guilty Gear - 12fps King of Fighters 99 - 20fps Megaman X3 -25 fps Megaman X4 - 25 fps Megaman X5 - 25fps Megaman X6 - 25 fps Mega Man 8 - 25 fps Parappa the rapper - 12 fps Marvel superheroes - 18 fps Marvel vs. Capcom - 18 fps R types - 25 fps Strider - 20fps Strider 2 - 20fps Street Fighter Alpha 2 - 20 fps Street Fighter Alpha 3 - 15 fps Street Fighter collection -17 fps Street Fighter collection 2 - 17fps Super puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo - 25fps Wild Arms - 15 fps X-Men vs. Street Fighter - 20 fps Tekken - 12 fps I physically played and tested over 60 to 70 PS1 games. These are the games that made the cut. Please keep in mind even though the frames per second maybe low for some reason these games can pull it off. It seems to me like it can easily run side-scrolling type games. Or 2D Fighters very well. Eventually I will be adding more to this list as time goes by. If anyone wants to add any other games feel free below. PS I know that there are lists that's a what this emulator can emulate. But I have actually tested these myself. Thanks for reading and have a good day
  16. Hey everyone I found this website and I figured I share it the name is arcade punks here is an link to there xbox files https://www.arcadepunks.com/original-xbox-file-archive/ merry x-mas og xbox.
  17. I've seen several UnleashX skins show the game picture/icon next to the name of the game. But they don't show up with any of the games i've put on the hdd. Am I missing something in the game folder itself or a setting I need to modify in UnleashX? Any help would be appreciated.
  18. recently got a debug kit I have been trying to look for ways on how to FTP 2 debug kit. The only media this would read that will allow you to FTP is the dashboard Avalanche. These were made on the Old Source codes that's why it can read it. But you really want the Alpha version it's a special version (Alpha v0.49.1) This is the only Dash or program this debug kit will play. Once it boots up go into file manager using the CD to get there. Copy files from DVD drive into the E partition you can make a folder call it apps and place individually everything on the contents of the CD you made... once that is done you can reboot the system open Avalanche go into FTP settings. You want to change your IP address to whatever you have on flashfxp or Windows .. once you are linked you can pull off any programs that you want to make a copy for yourself. Another thing you can do is download an app called retail game loader V 1.20. This app will allow you to play retail games as well as emulators or anything the original Modded Xbox can play. How you use it is once you FTP to hard drive and is complete reset the system then under xdk launcher click on the newly installed app retail disc loader V 1.20... once that is launched it will look like the exact same Dash except now you can load anything you want. I was giving a lot of help from a lot of different sources in order to make this post to this form. Please if you know any other tricks leave a comment below if not this will work for sure I've tried it myself 100%. Thank you very much for reading have a great Frankie d
  19. Hi all, I've recently performed a rewrite of the TSOP (EVO M8+) on my PAL console, using the Hexen CD but i am unable to run backups. I've tried the following scenarios Game tested: Psychonauts PAL Original DVD OK DVD2XBOX OK FTP or Burned DVD NOK (gets booted back to unleashX) Original and iso are from the same game to eliminate other variables (ISO is also PAL) but it doesn't boot. Any guesses of what might be wrong? I'm more concerned about not being able to FTP as i wan't to remove dependencies from the hardware that can fail overtime more easily.. Setup that this was tested at: XBOX 1.0 TSOP EVOX M8+ Internal drive: Tested with IDE to SD card, and original HDD
  20. After a Tsop and 1tb HD install - I had Ninja Massive, a few Xbox games and Emulators working fine. This morning I go to power it on, everything looks fine but it will not Boot any of the above mentioned. Loads for a few minutes and returns me to UnleashX Dash. I cleared the cache and don't know what else it could be. Any tips or help with this is greatly appreciated ;(
  21. I have just copied all of my games to my HDD using dvd to xbox. What is the easiest way to copy them to one of my other xboxes. All of my xboxes are modded.
  22. So I was using DVD2XBXOX to copy over Burger King Sneak King to my HDD. It sounded like my DVD Drive was searching frantically for the data to copy over. After what seemed like maybe 10 minutes it began copying and remained at 1% for another 10 minutes. Then the console rebooted. Immediately I was like 'WTF, that was odd." I ejected the disc and went to my games folder and they were all gone! Booting XBpartitioner 1.3 shows a big green ER on my F partition. No games show in any dash I use but when in XBpartitioner 1.3 it shows the the data is used. I'm at a loss here, folks, I'm considering taking out the HDD and formatting it but if it's an easy fix... What should I do? [Edit] I just reformated partitions F and G to make one big F partition.
  23. maybe i cant find the right version but i am having a hell of a time getting any ps1 game to run on this xbox i got ps1x 15core22 but most games i see every one using i cant get working black screens or crashed xbox im not the best at format to put in tried bin and cue and just bin seams to be the same problem regardless ? tips or a link to help trouble shoot games would be amazing
