Have had a few of my boxes develop trace rot recently now that their age has reached ~20 years. I'm familiar with the clock capacitor removal / replacement, however I'm curious on what are all the best tips and tricks to implement as a way of preserving my precious boxes into the futures. Thanks!

As the title states, it’s time to get some updated tips on case modding. Im currently looking for newer/cleaner methods of reattaching jewels after clearing them. With all of the new products being available and unexpected uses for others, I’m extremely interested in hearing what you all do and how. I’ve shared a few of my methods here and there, so share some that you think are helpful. Share anything about LED mods, Painting, and so on.

i had ordered a lpc rebuild board and it got here today. turns out the one i ordered is too small to fit a pin header in so i'd have to solder the chip directly to the board for this rebuild board to work. i don't want to order another one so i am strongly considering just using the wire method to rebuild the lpc. problem is that i really dislike the kind of fine soldering that i'd have to do if i use this method. any tips on how to do the wire method the easiest way?

I want to use my xbox as test patter "generator" to calibrate my TV specifically with my xbox via component cable. But not sure what calibration pattern and standard should i use. DVD and HDTV uses different standards, etc.

I picked up a particularly grotty and smelly xbox the other day - I bought it because I thought the case might be in mint condition underneath the layer of dirt and I was right. I washed the case with fairy liquid (dishwater detergent) and a microfibre cloth but although the plastic casing looks clean it isn't - I ran a baby wipe over a tiny section of the case and it was brown. Same result when I used a baby wipe on the inside of the case - brown residue inside the case as well. Is there any special paste I should make? Could I make a baking power and vinegar paste? The reason I'm reluctant to try these is I'm afraid I'll damage the case - any one any tips on how to get rid of the brown residue. Thanks in advance.

Hi there I am new to modding Xboxes, i have watched a number of videos on the subject . I plan to look through all the forum topics to guide me , my biggest hurdle is knowing what tools, leads and software to have so it makes the process easier. I have four Xboxes, two have been soft modded by the previous owners (one has an extension kit with three HDD's internally and has an Akira 2 mod chip), one standard Xbox and one Pal Crystal Xbox version 1.5 I plan to TSOP all of them if possible. My soldier skills are good, i have installed mod chips in my PS2, and Gamecube. I have also modded my Dreamcast with an IDE Reborn and have an IDE drive in a custom built DC table top arcade. Any help on where to look for info would be much appreciated
