  1. The modchip's called Aladdin XT plus 2 instead of Pro 2. Hexen doesn't require DL DVD media - it's not that large. DVD-R 4.7GB media works. Is it the 2017 updated release? (Available here and here.) Is it burned correctly? If you insert the disc into a PC what happens? You should not be able to see a directory list of the files on the disc but get an error -- the disc format is for an Xbox not a PC. If you can view the disc's directory, burn the XISO image to DVD-R media again using "Burn Image to disc".
  2. Just unlocking the drive shouldn't give this error on a hard modded Xbox. (On a softmodded Xbox upon next boot, you'd see Error 5 (HDD not locked error). Do you have a couple Xbox HDD's lying around and mixed them up? Error message info from : http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/xbox-error-codes-explained-go-here-first.373255/ Stop at the "preferrably with a Slayer Evo-X Cd" and instead use a HeXEn 2017 installer disc.
  3. Depends, v1.2 - v.15 Xbox Delta and Foxlink power supply unit (PSU) swap okay but not a v1.6 Delta PSU to a v1.2-1.5 Xbox. The 1.6 Delta PSU. is not compatible with other Xbox PSU's. Four (4) Xbox Power Supply Unit Pinouts http://diy.sickmods.net/Tutorials/Xbox1/Power_Supply_Pinouts/
  4. XDVDMulleterBeta10.2 can extract the game file set from a ReDump approved ISO. I think this ISO is the same as a KREON drive game disc backup.
  5. Sounds like you found a ReDump ISO image of the disc. How were you installing, running, and/or burning the 7GB image (ISO) file?
  6. Yes, v1.0-1.5 Xbox motherboard's have 4 solder pad sets, 2 on top and 2 on the bottom, for installation of an additional 64MB of RAM. One can purchase new parts online. Thereby not doubling the workload -- unsoldering them from one motherboard and soldering back on a different one. Order parts that match the part number of those currently installed. There are 3 different versions of the Samsung RAM chips; Xbox Versions 1.0 - 1.1 = K4D263238M-QC50 Xbox Versions 1.2 - 1.3 = K4D263238D-QC50 Xbox Versions 1.4 - 1.5 (1.6a?) = K4D263238F-QC50 Not sure matching is 100% necessary. The M, D and F designator denotes which silicon die Samsung used to manufacture the memory chip (updates to the design layout). Functionality should be the same but if in doubt be safe and match them as Floydzabarber suggests in his video tutorial below. Make sure that your soldering iron is electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe. Don't blow the chip during unsoldering/soldering. Floydzabarber's Youtube Videos: Advantages of 128MB RAM upgrade https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQvLCdN4ZbQ Not sure why the second video link didn't/doesn't expand to show the video as the first did. And, refuses to do so upon many editing attempts.
  7. Yes. PM'd Where's "it just shows up as a video of xbox game disc"? What's that mean? It only plays the short video seen when you insert an Xbox game disc in a DVD player. How'd you backup/create the disc? burn the image?
  8. iND-BiOS 5004 is iND-BiOS Beta Feb-11-05
  9. What BIOS is flashed to the TSOP? I'm thinking iND-BiOS 5003! You can access ISO's with a limited set of hacked BIOS's just like you can with nDure and NKPatcher. BIOS versions supported (some are for softmod use - original MS BIOS's and others hardmod use - modchip/TSOP) include: 3944 4034 4817 4981 5003 5035 5101 5530 5713 5838 I have my Xbox setup this way. The only snag I have is once an ISO is mounted the Xbox has to be power cycled to get it unmounted. IGR inside the game returns to the beginning of booting up the game and not the dashboard as it does on a softmod. There may be a way around this issue but I've yet to take the time to figure it out.
  10. How to update your X2.x modchip with FlashBIOS (Cromwell) https://web.archive.org/web/20041022145905/http://www.teamxecuter.com:80/flashbios.htm (FlashBIOS 2.27) If you have a later version, FlashBIOS 3.01 or 3.03 there are additional update methods available - HTTP and HDD as well as from CD/DVD disc. https://web.archive.org/web/20070211000116/http://www.team-xecuter.com:80/flashbios/
  11. You sure you placed them in correctly. They are polarity sensitive. The positive (+) terminal, not labeled on the cap goes on the side with the + printed outside the silk-screened circle and the negative lead has the widestrip down the side with a '-' minus symbol printed in it a couple times. This lead should line up the wide white band of the silk-screened placement circle on the printed circuit board. Electrolytic caps (negative symbol in gold band on side): Xbox MB Silk-screened cap placement (notice polarity markings as described above): If installed backwards, they will blowup. Pop! Speewww! Pzzzt! As I think you've now found out. I usually mention that fact when telling people to replace electrolytic caps but see I did not here. Can you post a picture of the Xbox Motherboard showing the blown caps?
  12. Collecting any software tools used for modding consoles, reading game discs, etc.
  13. Welcome to ogXbox.com! Happy modding and retro game play. Saturday night system link games and other impromptu sessions via Xlink Kai and ogXbox.com's gaming nights/discord server scheduling. Need to get a bit more coordinated as they currently overlap. XLink Kai Fam (Discord invite) 8:30pm EST and ogXbox.com (Discord invite) 8:00pm EST (last posted game night). Xlink Kai Fam's next gaming session 10/14 Serious Sam II
  14. Care to share them with us? Please! Thanks
  15. I'd thought it was under N64 Freak's section but it is not. Thanks for the link just saw it again as N64 Freak just posted a new message to the thread; therefore, it showed up in the recent list again.
  16. Do you have a copy of these apps?
  17. Check N64 Freak's section here at ogXboxm.com for information about his Xbox to HDMI adapter. Argh, what happened to it? There's only a post about his 1.4GHz upgraded motherboards. The posts about the hi-def hdmi adapter are gone!
  18. I also see that there are two releases of FlashBIOS 3.0.3 (3.0.3 and 3.0.3-1) Use the latter. The description states that this BIOS boots on all version Xbox's not just v1.6/1.6b. However, if you have a v1.6/1.6b Xbox, standard definition (SD) AV cable are required or NO video output. The v1.6 Xbox's Xcalibur video encoder is only supported for SD not HD output -- no documentation on the Xcalibur chip's register set was ever leaked to help decipher how to fully support it.
  19. reb00tz's question answers: No, there is no serial port on X3. Pull backup - no way that I know of short of unsoldering it from the modchip. Possibly destroying it in the process. DON'T! There may be TSOP clips that could be pressed on top of the Flash memory chips similar to Playstation 3 BIOS downgrading methods to reflash the X3 BIOSes. Never seen such a device made for the Xbox though or X3 modchip. There are two flash chips on the X3 modchip. A 2MB (16Mbit) TSOP48 and a 256KB (2Mbit) TSOP32 package flash memory chip. I've never set a password on the BIOS so not sure what actions it allows until the correct password is entered. Do you know the IP address that X3 setup for access to your Xbox? If so, FTP to the Xbox and enter the Admin directory. Select the BIOS bank and upload a fresh copy of the X3 BIOS. It may clear the password. But, may not. You could install the X3 modchip into a non-1.6 version Boot the recovery BIOS. Set the bank select switches to Bank 1+2+3+4 or 5+6+7+8 (1MB BIOSs ) Re-flashing the BIOS looks possible without a password - X3 3294 v16plus.bin (v.1.6 Xbox) or X3 3294.bin (1.0-1.5 Xbox's). Not sure where the password is saved though. Hope in the X3 3294 BIOS saved in flash itself and that a clean copy of the BIOS reflashed will clear it. Before removing the X3 from the non-1.6 Xbox, flash the recovery bios (Backup Rom) with the 1.6 version of FlashBIOS - 3.0.3. Reinstall the modchip into the 1.6 Xbox.
  20. On a v1.6 Xbox the recovery BIOS needs to be updated to FlashBIOS 3.0.3. While in X3 Config Live, select Bios Tools -> Flash Backup Rom and use one of the listed options to Load 256KB Bios From C:, E:, F:, G:, or DVD-ROM. Locate the FlashBIOS3.0.3's dot bin file on the selected drive and reflash the recovery BIOS on the X3. Those two ports act as any Memory Unit port on the Xbox. Game save transfers, keyboard and/or mouse connection for Linux or Phantasy Star Online uses a USB keyboard too. XBMC can read data from FAT32 formatted USB thumb drives but as those ports are only USB1.1 they are slow - max. 11Mbits/second.
  21. Can't delete a messed up post
  22. Is the Xbox modded? If so, FTP download the files from the Xbox to the PC.
  23. There are a couple threads at badcaps.net about 1.6 Xbox's with power on problems: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=61727 https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=60295 https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51725 https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=48951 I see there are 5 of those larger caps not just 4. from pics in the third thread above. A suggestion from all those threads mentions using low ESR caps to replace them. Have to piece statements from across all the posts in these threads to hopefully come up with a solution.
  24. Your welcome. Post back what the results are after replacing the capacitor. Have you tried your Xbox's power supply in the other v1.6 Xbox?
