  1. I'm using the standard definition (composite) AV cable with my old standard definition 32" picture tube TV. Not quite sure what resolution it is using to not be visible with that configuration. However, my TV is showing signs of vertical foldover at the top of the screen. I can't see the top one to two inches of the screen. It's folded on top of the visible picture area in a set of stretched scan lines whose image is mirrored across the next several inches of the screen. The vertical output circuitry probably has a dead electrolytic cap in the charge pump that generates the high voltage spike that returns the beam to the top of the screen. The beam isn't getting to the top before the picture starts to be displayed. Similar to v1.6 Xboxes with bulging/leaking caps near the CPU heatsink and PSU connector that cause power on and video output problems. This TV most likely has its own bad capacitor problem. I really need to try connecting the Xbox to my newer LCD HDTV but it's in a different room.
  2. Yes, I removed it. The one BIOS that remained did not have -A in it's name. I added a new BIOS and named it. It was listed first in the Launch menu and had the -A added to the name I gave it. I even renamed the item to remove the -A and it reappears at the end of the new name. Really looks more like a <b>-A (<b> = space character).
  3. i uploaded the Xenium OS v2.3.0 recovery.bin file in the root of the E drive. I then selected Recovery from the Xenium OS v2.3.1 main menu and answered Yes when prompted if I really wanted to go into recovery mode. I thought I'd killed it. The screen goes blank, the front panel LED color changes to amber, then it flashes amber a few times then starts Flashing Red and Green. FRAG I thought, damn! However, there is no green eject ring/console reset/green again/console reset/eject ring flashes red and green though of the normal hardware error FRAG. The multi-color LED on the Xenium changes colors several times and finally the console powers down. Upon reboot (powering the console on again), the new (well old) "Welcome to Xenium OS v2.3.0!" message is displayed before the main menu appears. This version of the Xenium OS also has -A printed at the end of the name of the first BIOS listed in the Launch Menu.
  4. Here's the dump I made: flash.rar
  5. There are two different google drive links being discussed here. The non-working one that I asked about is: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1bYSO8snXzM0wvWE8ZR_EtAW0A0Qzo6nM that you'd posted earlier in this thread. And, the one I've included as your quoted text in this message.
  6. Share it. Oh, wait! What's the secret password?
  7. I'm booting this Xbox with the Xenium modchip. Right now, I don't have another modchip to use to boot this console then hotswap the factory reset Xenium to obtain a clean flash.bin dump. I do see the names inside the configuration area you mention. Not exactly sure why the Xenium OS shows the first BIOS with the name evox-A while the configuration area only shows it as evox. The second is found in the configuration area with the same name as displayed by the OS menu - m8_16.bin.
  8. I don't think @Ryzee119 provides a copy of the XeniumOS v2.3.1 (ISO RAR archive or HDD RAR archive) in the OpenXenium repo. However, I believe the XeniumOS recovery.bin file found in either of these archive files does not include all of the data stored inside the Xenium's 2MB flash memory chip. One is made to burn a disc for flashing the XeniumOS v2.3.1 to the modchip and the other from the hard drive or possibly FTP. I've not worked with the Xenium modchip too much. It just happened to be in a console I purchased from Goodwill.
  9. The 2MB dump I've made of the Xenium's flash has two 256KB BIOS's loaded into it. Is there a way to use a hex editor to clear them and their names from the dump? I've just started looking for the data stored in flash.bin and need to read more of the documentation in the OpenXenium github repository about content offsets to breakdown the content stored inside.
  10. I found the hard drive. It's having some problems on power up. It is a 1.6 console. It keeps turning off on it's own shortly after pressing the power button. It has a weird power supply unit in it. It has both a v1.0 (12x1) AT-style and v1.6 (2x10) ATX-style power connector wired for v1.6 voltage levels. I've not checked the voltage levels on the 1.0 PSU connector.
  11. Damn, that console's completely disassembled right now. Just a box of parts except for the hard drive. what did I do with it... I need to find the hard drive for it and put it back together. I'll see if I can get that done later this evening. Dinner time now.
  12. Do you have a compiled version of the Xenium-Tool - the xbe file to run on the Xbox? I have an Xbox with a Xenium ICE installed but no PC with Linux and NXDK installed to compile it. Update: I found it in the releases section. Was looking for it under the Xenium-Tools section instead of the start of the OpenXenium repo. I didn't see 1 release at first across the on the top. Now, to dig that Xbox out and connect it to a TV to upload and run the application, download the flash image it saves, etc...
  13. I found a link to @Xbmcmodsforxbox google drive from January this year. The newer one from Feb he posted above no longer works. And a few other's I'd found from April and May (same one though) do not work either. But this one does. He has skins for several of the replacement Xbox dashboards available: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bS7tjYn2jIvzISc681JCCEdKE7JAzQRd AvaLaunch Evox UnleashX, and XBMC There's a lot more original Xbox content available if you go back up a few levels in the directory listing.
  14. Can you provided an updated link as this one results in displaying an Error 404 (Not found)!! page.
  15. UnleashX: System -> Settings -> Storage -> Lock Status (Toggles between locked and unlocked when A button is pressed.) AvaLaunch: Settings -> Main Options -> Harddisk tools -> HDD lock (clock to toggle)Enabled/Disabled ConfigMagic-Final 1.6 or Rocky5's updated version 1.6.1. https://downloads.diodematrix.com/homebrew/xbins/Console Based Applications/apps/eeprom tools/Config Magic/ConfigMagic-Xbox_v1.6-FINAL.rar https://downloads.diodematrix.com/homebrew/xbins/Console Based Applications/apps/eeprom tools/Config Magic/ConfigMagic-Xbox_v1.6.1-FINAL.rar
  16. Do you wrap the cable around the controller when you store it? Not a good thing to do. If so, most likely problem is a busted wire inside the cable near the controller right past the strain relief. If you move the cable near where it comes out of the controller, can you get it to connect and disconnect with some regularity based on the cable's position.
  17. With that production date, it should be a 1.6 console. Should not be damage from clock capacitor electrolyte leakage. The 1.6's clock cap is at a different location than all earlier models, not near the controller port connections. And, only 1.0's have a USB daughterboard that routes the front panel controller cables through it to the motherboard. All other versions have their controller cabling plugged directly into the motherboard. The wires must be broken inside the sheathing of the cable. Does the controller have a short breakaway cable present, OEM controller, or is it a third party controller?
  18. Try a different controller port (e.g, Port 3 or 4). Their connection to the motherboard is further away from leaked clock cap electrolyte on v1.0-1.5 Xboxes and if a 1.0 connect through a different USB daughterboard. What version Xbox is it?
  19. Yes, EWJ 212 Standalone (7-Zip archive - 5.96GB) can be downloaded from MEGA: https://mega.nz/#!3KhCzaCL!EWQpbRhKOJOvSFLynwyM9sXRgwTFrBM6PB42xGGsx_E Source: http://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6096&hilit=earthworm&start=420#p89476 For the latest information about emulators and homebrew games for the ogXbox, check the forums and download section at emuxtras.net.
  20. I think the download linked here is the same version but it mentions PreAlpha in it's name, DoomLegacyv0.05.142PreAlpha.zip. gamebrew.org shows a Source link; however, it's downloads the same file as obtained via the Download link, not the actual source code for the homebrew app.
  21. Nope. I'm not a FaceBook user and the ogxbox group is private so I think that's why I cannot access it.
  22. Yes, it has the latest LBA48 patch applied.
  23. What's it doing or not doing that it needs to be reset? There's no known factory reset. Supposedly a proper button combo based on the serial number would clear games saves and cache drive partitions. The proper button combo obtained by calling Microsoft Support. What MS dashboard version is it running? (Settings -> System Info; at the end of the scroller look for the D value - dashboard version. There's also a K value for the kernel version the console is using. Neither value will be displayed if the BIOS/Kernel version is 3944 of v1.0 consoles.) What version Xbox is it? If the MS dashboard files are corrupt or hard drive is dead, you'll need to read the configuration EEPROM data so you can unlock the hard drive and rebuild the drive or if the HDD is dead prepare drive and LOCK it. XboxHDM23USB Beta 2 and the MS Dashboard 5960 file set can be used to do so. As distributed, XboxHDM23USB requires the hard drive to be connected to a PC with a compatible USB-to-HDD interface adapter.
  24. I'm not exactly sure which of the many versions: CoinOPS 6, 7, 8 - Lite, Gold, Massive; HyperVision, Premium, NINJA, Premium NINJA is the best. It's so confusing with all the releases and I find little info describing the particulars about each.
