  1. Is there a label on the bottom side of the controller or anything printed/embossed/etched in the case or a label inside the memory unit slot(s)?
  2. Ok, I created this save after receiving the Creamcast device and connected it to the TV in the player's room. I left the player's name as the game's default - John Doe. 00000002.zip
  3. From what I've seen even on a modded Xbox, the game crashes at the point you are talking about. It was never released for the U.S. (North American) market - only in Japan.
  4. Not much. Check the little bit of information at XboxDev's dump-dvd-kit github repo and Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit @ xboxdevwiki.net.
  5. Yes. It was posted on MakeMHz's Discord server; however, I'm not exactly sure where. And, I see a YouTube video on the subject: with a link to a download link to an archive file that seems to include it. Edit: I suggest that you only install the patched BIOS on an Xbox modded with a modchip that supports multiple BIOSes so you can boot from a different one in case the patched BIOS doesn't work.
  6. I run games with long filenames from XISO disc images instead of HDD ready files.
  7. Yes. Remember to rename the file on the hard drive to what you changed it to. Edit: And, save a copy of the original unedited default.xbe file. Does this game have any files with names over 42 characters in length (that includes the 4 for the dot and 3 letter extension - so 38 characters before the dot)?
  8. Like any other XBE file on an original game disc, the XBE file contained in the flash memory of the DVD Playback Kit dongle contains a signed security certificate that allows it to run on the Xbox.
  9. Yes, I found a copy of it in the Wayback Machine's archive of the www.ozxchip.com website: http://web.archive.org/web/20031206035248fw_/http://www.ozxchip.com/downloads/xbox_image_converter_3.0.rar
  10. From the tiny bit of information I've found on the Xbox PSUs, they have overvoltage and overcurrent protection. There may be a problem with the output voltage levels detected by the PSU when turned on and it almost instantly shuts off or a short may cause the attached circuitry to draw too much current which will also shut off the power supply. Since the Xbox's PSU is a switching power supply, you should not try to power it on without a load present/connected. Some switching power supplies will not function properly without at least 1/2 of their load being pulled by the connected circuitry. For the Xbox, this means the motherboard, DVD drive, and hard drive. I don't know the exact minimum power draw the Xbox's PSU requires to operate. First, disconnect the power cable from the hard drive then try powering on the console. Does it power on? Next, disconnect the power / control cable from the DVD drive. Does it power on? Next, disconnect the IDE cable from the motherboard. Does it power on?
  11. There are other things to check before swapping the PIC processor. First, make sure that the power button signal is reaching the PIC processor. While pressing and releasing the power button, measure the voltage level on pin #18. It should change state (voltage level). When depressed, you should read 0Vdc and when released 3.3Vdc. Next, the output from the PIC processor, PowON - pin #16, should change state. 0Vdc = power off, 3.3Vdc = power on.
  12. Which of the 7 models of DVD drives used in the Xbox is it? DVDROM - ConsoleMods Wiki
  13. IIRC, it contains an XBE file that the Xbox runs to play DVD movies, not a BIOS.
  14. Make sure that the power supply is providing the standby voltage level (3.3Vdc in the STB column below) to the motherboard. Without it, the System Management Controller (PIC processor) cannot turn on the remaining voltage/power rails of the PSU.
  15. I don't know of any program that does this operation. There is Mborgerson's pyxbe that can provide you with information about the content of an XBE file and save the images as BMP instead of $$XTIMAGE and $$XSIMAGE XPR0-format. There is talk about adding the capability of injecting new images (See: pyxbe Issue #6: Add title and title save image codec); however, I don't think that functionality has been added yet. I don't think pyxbe can take BMP images and convert them into XPR0-format images but it may. The new images could then be injected with a hex editor as long as they are the same size as the originals. There is another image processing tools that may do the conversion L.I.M.P.P. (Library of Image Manipulation in Pure Python).
  16. What's Button configuration do?
  17. ByAlvro's 1fichier.com Microsoft repo. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRs56u1DiQy4EBB8rWrk1r-yvkYgatv9h0IbKKDh1HyPXueiaS06aVdovdF_nHe9SJrPwfkYRMif_mG/pubhtml# There are ad sites that open up along the way to the files.
  18. There is no official github. They have a set of 4 channels on the XBOX-SCENE Discord server: #cerbios-general, #cerbios-test-report, #cerbios-requests and #xmv-anims. The BIOS files are officially distributed through xbins.org's FTP server. Also, check the forum thread you are currently reading and this one [DL] Cerbios BIOS Mirror [Updated] for posts about the latest release and downloading them from other file-sharing websites.
  19. Use it as is or attach longer wires to the A18 and A19 pads so they can be grounded (touched to the metal RF shielding) to boot then disconnected them from ground to reflash the entire 1MB TSOP. Most all of the flashing software will write 4 copies of a 256KB BIOS's dot bin file to fill the entire 1MB TSOP of a v1.1 Xbox. Gentoox Loader is one of the only flashing apps that I know that only writes 1 copy of the dot bin file to the TSOP. So, if using Gentoox Loader reflash a 1MB TSOP, you will need a 1MB CerBIOS dot bin file which is actually 4 copies of the 256KB CerBIOS written one after the other to create the 1MB dot bin file.
  20. Yes, DX9 supports SCISSORTESTENABLE. It was added to DirectX starting with DX9.
  21. Sounds like the E drive is full.
  22. You must use Hynix RAM on a v1.6b motherboards. Hynix RAM access timings are different than those of Samsung memory chips.
  23. Which replacement dashboard is it - UnleashX, Evoxdash, Avalaunch, XBMC, etc.? Find the kernel version of the modified BIOS that is booting from the modchip. Where to find it depends upon which replacement dashboard is running.
  24. Add some solder to the pads on the far end that are not making a good connection. Doing so will raise the contact point so the pogo pin can make a better connection to them.
