  1. I've used Rocky's Extras Disc to reset to factory multiple times when I was first starting out. I made tons of mistakes and didn't feel comfortable trying to fix it with limited knowledge, so I just reset and tried again. You can burn it to a dvd-r using ImgBurn, but I prefer to just ftp it to the Apps folder and launch as a virtual disc. In his softmod files, you'll find an Extras Disc folder, within that is an Attacher folder that has a file in it that says 'place extras disc in here'. Place the Extras Disc.iso in this folder. It should have an Attacher file in it also. Ftp this folder to your Apps and reset the xbox and launch it. Navigate to the Advanced Options I think it's called, and you'll see a Factory Reset option. It'll ask if you want to keep gamesaves before the reset. If you plan on wiping and starting fresh, I'd recommend backing up the t/data and u/data folders on every xbox, to scan for dlc that has been lost to time. You can browse the original dashboard before doing anything to see if you have any. While scanning through your game saves, if any have a green checkmark or green arrow, it could be valuable. Some games won't even have arrows, but you'll notice the file size is different when you scroll right and left between the main game icon and gamesave. This is likely a title update, and it's hard to notice. Pinecone is a handy tool to scan for missing dlc, however, Harcroft is working on an App for the xbox from what I hear, to make it much easier. With Endgame's release, it'll be even easier, no softmod needed to scan. Another neat feature of Rocky's factory reset option, is he installs an audio track that is part of the uddae exploit. This allows you to resoftmod at any time, without the need for a game disc or softmod files. I've done it multiple times and it's very easy. Just copy/paste and rename the audio track and it's modded again. The instructions are included in his softmod package. I recently put a 60GB OCZ Agility II in one of mine and noticed a difference immediately. Seek times are non existent. XBMC4Gamers and Emustation are much more responsive, compared to my WD20EZBX. It was my original ssd for my pc when I built it in 2010 and has been lying around forever. Figured I'd try it out to test.
  2. Just making sure you're aware that you can press and hold LT or RT to quickly scroll, and it gets faster the longer its held down. Dpad Left/Right also is handy, and don't forget about your Favorites tab.
  3. What issues did you have with the Xedusa? Was it the Xedusa+ or Xedusa? What version xbox?

I reinstalled Gamers from a backup and it worked before bed last night. I'll see if it does it again this week.

I've had this happen a few times. I am on Emustation and load into 4Gamers via a custom tile. It partially loads in, but constantly spins the loading circle, and the screen goes dim, bright, dim, bright, never loads fully. I manually reset the xbox and tried to boot to 4Gamers via Dashloader, but it wouldn't, loads to my default Emustation. Loading into 4Gamers again, reverted my 4Gamers settings to default. Its a brand new WD20EZBX, fully loaded. Everything else works fine, just Gamers takes forever to load sometimes. There is no log present, and I'm connected to the internet.
  6. I got a set of 100 sticks a few months ago and recommend them. Good quality, have some texture, but not too much. A few of them were hard to press on, but eventually did. I've used this 80 wire 5 times now and it feels sturdy, solid connectors. These are the best caps I've came across, he used to have a description on them that explained why they were better than the normally recommended ones. Super low esr, or low ohms, something like that. If you find an official HD pack without the cables, these are always recommended that I've seen, and have great reviews. I plan on ordering these belts, as I've read they will work with the 22mm ID drives. I use the ifixit toolkit and love it. I just wish it had an extra long extension that is the same size as the bits. I can barely fit the bit into a duke, and some 3rd party controllers, the bits just wont reach at all. The extension that comes with the kit is too wide.
  7. The MS Dash Network Test shows the Xbox Serial Number at the top. The board itself doesn't have one? Is X01063-121 under the IDE something else?
  8. Does the board have a Serial number? I see a number on the bottom of the board that starts with X, directly under the IDE connector. The only thing I see on top is a number that looks like someone made it with a label maker, by the IDE as well. I'm wanting to catalog them to keep track of the ones I've worked on.
  9. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xTpK-VoZX_uzyztk3zdnDaOdEcfOqPJb You can either burn it to a dvd-r using ImgBurn, or the preferred method is to ftp it over to your Apps and launch as a virtual disc. There is a folder in there that has a text file that says 'place extras disc in here'. Just copy the iso to that folder and ftp that folder over, restart xbox and select it from your Apps. If you only want Emustation, you can download the Prebuilt Version on his Github as well. Just scroll down a bit on that link and click on the download prebuilt version.
  10. I think Rocky switched recently to another host, may be why the downloader isn't connecting. That build is super old, I would just delete it and install the latest, either from his Extras Disc, or ftp/FatX.
  11. Upon doing more research, initially, I thought that FatX only worked with USB adapters. I have 2 hot swap sata docks on my pc case and tried them. Instantly got speeds maxing out around 180MB/s, much better than my USB 2.0 speeds of 27MB/s. I built this pc in 2010, and my motherboard allows me to swap from IDE to AHCI in the bios to enable sata hot swapping, but I get a BSOD error with invalid boot device. I'm fine going without hotswapping with these speeds. What took over half a day, now takes about 2 hours.
  12. I have that exact adapter as well and it doesn't work either. I mainly use WD Blue's, but I'm looking at used ssd's on ebay. Hoping to find 2TB's for a similar price that don't have thousands of hours.
  13. I'm currently using the Startech USB2SataIDE to build new hdd's with FatX. I have the USB3SataIDE version, but it doesnt work with FatX. I don't know if it's because it uses an Innostor-IS611 chip, compared to the JMicron-JM20337 of the USB2 version, or something else. I've heard of people using USB3 with FatX and was curious if anyone here has had success. I average 27MB/s, just looking to do better.
  14. My other post was in the wrong sub, here's a fresh one. Sorry about that. There's a pre-v1.6 Halo Edition that just went up on the Arizona ShopGoodwill, with the matching controller. I'm not bidding on it, figured I'd let people know. There was one a few months back that went for over $500 on there. The prices for stock xbox's on that site have skyrocketed since last year. Used to be no more than $40 for a parts unit. https://shopgoodwill.com/item/190290748 Sorry about that, I'm new to posting to the site, I'll be more careful. But to tell if its a v1.6 or not, if the A/V port is all plastic, its not a v1.6.
  15. The way I installed the PBL files, Dashloader no longer allows custom dashboards to boot from button presses. Unless I installed it wrong. I replaced the real C\nkpatcher folder with the PBL files and udma.bin. Renamed Emustation to Evoxdash.xbe and placed it in real C, along with its files/folders. That's just the way some guys on discord walked me through it, and it worked. They said the MSDash would no longer work unless I changed something and it would look like a mess of an install. The ones I've been working on the past few months have all been v1.6. I've only soldered one time to fix an instrument cluster on a buick century. It looked horrible. I don't want to risk ripping a trace or something. I want to learn though, I'd love to be able to chip and tsop stuff, and do the yellow wire memory card mod.

Not sure how it happened, but I was at the main menu of MotoGP and did an IGR to reset to Emustation. It acted like it froze, so I pressed Eject, the Xbox logo appeared I think, and nothing happened, so I manually restarted the xbox. It booted to a fresh install of Emustation, asking me to adjust the screen borders. All my settings, custom tiles, and game lists are gone It didn't touch anything else, all my games, 4Gamers, homebrew, all intact. Just Emustation. I just tried MotoGP again and did an IGR, but it worked that time. It no longer loads the Intro video either. The video still plays when manually selected in File Manager. I've disabled/enabled the Intro Video in the Options. I have a backup on my pc, so no real loss, just didnt expect it. Attached are the only logs I could fine. Softmodded, most recent stable builds. xbmc.log xbmc.old.log

  18. I loaded Cerbios on my softmod via BFM and PBL and worked fine. I just want to be able to use Insignia and Dashloader again without going through hoops. I want to go back to Rocky's softmod and extract the redumps out of the CCI files using Repackinator, if possible. That's what I was wondering, if I was downloading Nikey's cci pack for nothing, or if I can convert them back to redump. If there's a way to keep using Dashloader and the MSDash for Insignia, I'll stick with the BFM.
  19. What are the converted files it will end up with? The games wont play at all on a softmod you mean?
  20. Looks like it's gonna take about 3 more weeks to download as my internet is rather slow. Since I'm softmodded, is Repackinator similar to Qwix, in that you simply drap and drop and it does the rest? I plan to convert them back to the normal format to use on mine. Hoping I won't have to manually select 1k games to convert. I'll be glad to get rid of these hdd ready games. I tried the BFM Cerbios, but it seems too much hassle for long term use, and the Insignia workaround seems not worth it on a softmod.
  21. A suggestion would be if Emustation had the option to access Favorites by clicking Right Thumb, like 4Gamers does. When you start adding multiple custom tiles and have nearly a full library of Emulators, it takes a while to find it. Emustation's Kiosk won't allow games to be added to Favorites either, but you can still remove games from Favorites via the Favorites tile. The Favorites tab in 4Gamers won't allow games to be removed unless you manually search the game and unfavorite them. It looks like you can press Black for an Options menu, but nothing appears. It would be nice if the text in the 4Gamers Favorites UI could be smaller. A few games nearly takes up the whole screen, compared to Emustation's version which is more ideal for a larger list. I'm on the latest builds of both. Thanks.
  22. It's been a few years since I joined, but I would assume so, as they would prefer you to read the rules and faq before joining. I would bet they can also see who invited who on discord, so if one person grabs and goes without uploading, they would be suspicious of that person inviting others in the future. I have no proof of this, but that's what I would do. This is why I always modify my invites to 24 hours, and 1 use.
  23. They are part of Midway Arcade Treasures 3, but I downloaded a bunch of games from that series that someone extracted as standalone rips. I played them on the Dreamcast, but they were on N64 as well. When I scan them in Emustation and Gamers, MAT3 boxart loads which makes sense.
