  1. The Xblast chip needs to send a reset command to the Xbox and because you have told the Xbox to not read the LPC by turning of the D0 the Xblast can't send a reset. With the D0 connected to the mod chip as you tell Xblast to load from the original bios chip it sends a reset and then turns of the D0. L1 was on some of the early Aladdin chips and it was to turn on the red LED when the chip was active( So you knew the chip was on and did not get banned from XBL), So basically a 2nd D0 output. On some chips L1 was also to indicate you had turned off write protection. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  2. I used to get people bring old PC drives when I was upgrading their Xbox and I have recently had one here with a 40gb HDD that would have been older than the Xbox and the drive seemed to be working fine it was just to small. The owner was going to put that 40gb drive on eBay Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. The original 3.5 inch HDD's are 5400rpm as are a lot of old small 3.5 inch hard drives Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  4. The Xbox should boot fine with the rebuild board still on the board or wires on the board Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. Which bios did you flash? The UDMA 5 or 4 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. What happens if you unplug the mod-chip? Will the Xbox boot normally? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. Thank you, The difference is like night and day. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. The version 1.0 doesn't have error code on the screen but it will flash the front led in slightly different patterns. Check the led flashes and compare to the above chart Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  9. Sorry my mistake. Try linking the D0 and L1 like the image I posted. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. That means the Xbox was trying to load from the mod chip. Didn't you get the chip replaced from Modzville Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. Just connect the D0 from the main board directly to the mod-chip and not to ground. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. If the 160 Gb drive is a 7200 rpm then you might get a slight drop in load speeds using the UDMA4 bios Yes there is a PC program called Repackinator https://github.com/Team-Resurgent/Repackinator I believe it does Using the Cerbios Tool you can turn off the blue dog at the very start and there is a boot animation that looks very much like the original animation but you will need to change the colour to green as by default is blue. There is a config file that you can edit to change that in the folder called BootAnims that you put on the Xbox C drive. The ability to use a CCI files for people using small hard drives can nearly double the number of games on the HDD has got to be a plus. 13. The Xbox is still booting from the mod chip because you have the D0 point on the main board grounded and you connect the D0 from the main board directly to the mod chip D0 and not to ground. The D0 point on the mod-chip is a switch the turns on when the chip is active and when you want to load the original bios the switch turns off so the Xbox can boot as if the chip is not fitted. Some Aladdin chips the D0 point on the board is not strong enough and you can link the L1 and D0 on the chip together and connect that to the main boards D0 point. This is only works on the Xblast version of the Aladdin chip sao you can select the original bios from the main menu Or if you have a basic Aladdin chip that has the BT on the chip wire to the power button and in this case you power on the Xbox by pressing the eject button. 14. As I said 30 on the ind bios is not the same as 30 in the cerbios I think you will find the 30 in the Ind bios is closer to 50% From the IND config file FANSPEED=10 ;Fan Speed 10-50 = 20-100% Default=10 From the cerbios config file Fan Speed 0 = Default, 10-100 = Manual Control, Supports increments of 2's FanSpeed = 0 And cerbios has a Fullsystem shut down, Full system reset, Game only reset, Reboot back to dash and if you really want you can even set which port can perform the IGR Try this on the cerbios Left trigger, Right trigger, Dpad up, Back button Here is the IGR settings from the cerbios config file. ; IGR Master Port, 0 to 4, 0 = All Ports IGRMasterPort = 0 ; A = 0, B = 1, X = 2, Y = 3, BLACK = 4, WHITE = 5, LEFT_TRIGGER = 6, RIGHT_TRIGGER = 7 ; DPAD_UP = 8, DPAD_DOWN = 9, DPAD_LEFT = A, DPAD_RIGHT = B, START = C, BACK = D, LEFT_THUMB = E, RIGHT_THUMB = F ; IGR Dash Combo, Resets back to dashboard IGRDash = 67CD ; IGR Game Combo, Resets the current loaded game IGRGame = 467C ; IGR Full Combo, Full system reset IGRFull = 467D ; IGS Shutdown Combo, Full system shutdown IGRShutdown = 678D You should really be using the cerbios as you get better IDE bus speed ( up to 133Mb/s compared to 33.3Mb/s) plus more than the Ind5003 patched Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. On your 1.2-1.3 connect the D0 from the motherboard directly to the D0 point on the mod chip The mod chip is always active but if you select boot from on-board bios in the Xblast menu the chip will reset the Xbox and let it load from the stock bios. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  16. That originally was posted here. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. The Xblast is a Linux program same as Chimp and will only work with a genuine controller. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. I think you will find the 30 in the Ind bios is closer to 50% FANSPEED=10 ;Fan Speed 10-50 = 20-100% Default=10 Do you have the HDD and DVD trays still fitted? as they form part of the cooling. Is it a stock fan as in my view the stock fan works a ship load better that the new fans Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. Is it a version 1.6? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. I tested my Xblast chip and it seams to boot to the onboard bios from the Xblast menu if I have the D0 point on the main board connected to the mod chip. I tested my Xblast on a 1.1 with 128meg ram and a internal HDMI from N64 freak and that is wired as a component output It all operated fine with the D0 connected to the mod chip. The only issue with Xblast is it will not work with a non original controller. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. The design of the Xblast chip has been around for years and way back when the executer bios files where 512kb plus the eeprom on the chip has 1024kb space with the 1st 256kb used for Xblast and that leaves either 3 X 256kb or 1 X 256plus 1 X 512kb and they opted for a 256kb and 512kb You can flash a 256kb bios to the 512kb bank and that way you can have a UDMA4 and UDMA5 for testing what bios works best for your Xbox configuration. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. The Aladdin chip has 2 bios banks that you can flash the Cerbios too. One bank is a 256kb and the other is a 512kb but you can just flash two 256kb versions of the cerbios to it. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. UDMA is the IDE bus speed UDMA 2 = 33.3Mb/s This its the Xbox original DVD/HDD data transfer speed UDMA 4 = 66Mb/s This is suitable for a 80wire cable and a cheaper sata2ide adaptor UDMA 5 = 100Mb/s This is if you have a good quality sata2ide adaptor like the Statech brand and a 80 wire IDE cable UDAM 6 = 133Mb/s This setting is experimental on the version 2.3.1 of cerbios and is the maximum of the IDE cable and if you are using this you will probably need a SSD On your Open Xenium I would have the UDMA 4 and UDMA 5 then test which version gives a reliable booting by powering the Xbox on and off over a couple of days. You should be OK with the UDMA5 as long as the HDD is a 7200rpm drive. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. You need to make a bootable CD/DVD/USB and it will run from a disk in DOS mode. https://community.synology.com/enu/forum/17/post/17072 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. Flash this file "Cerbios Hybrid V2.X.X BETA" as it's the UDMA2 version of the bios and is more suited to a IDE drive. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
