  1. The caps next to the heat sink defiantly need replacing Is the Xbox still booting with the modchip unplugged? And what happens if you power on the Xbox using the eject button? I find sometimes it helpst to unplug the mains and press the power button the reconnect the mains and see what happens
  2. I helps a hep if you add some high quality pics of your work, upload the pics to a share site ( I use https://postimages.org/ ) and then post the links here Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  3. Restarting it should not cause the issue and it would help if you get some high quality pics of the LPC solder work and some of the top side of main board If you upload the pick to a share site and then add the links here then we can get a look ( I use https://postimages.org/ ) Error 7 is the HDD timed out but that will not stop the Open Xenium from displaying when you power on with the eject button. 4. So it's a 1.4 then there has been posts on here and on Reddit with people swearing they have modded heaps of 1.5's but when asked to prove it like you just did they never return. In the 1st YouTube clip I watched the person was showing how to test for a 1.5 he then his meter set to ohm's and then had one probe on the screw hole and the other on pin 1 (LCLK) and saying this proves it a 1.5.. It also made no sense to write 1.5 on the chip and the MB.. As you now have the HDD soft-modded why not add the links to R7D10 and R7D1 then re-flash the onboard bios with cerbios. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  5. The log has some entry's relating to the skin, The easy fix is download a new prebuilt copy of xbmc4gamers and FTP that to the Xbox and overwrite the current files https://github.com/Rocky5/XBMC4Gamers Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  6. I suspect the board has or had a gold coloured clock cap and the installer assumed it was a 1.5 and added the 2 extra links be cause they didn't bother testing it 1st. I also don't understand why write 1.5 on the board and chip as the Aladdin comes with a bios that is compatible with all versions of OG Xbox ( 1.0 - 1.6 ).. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  7. Have you removed the link from pin2 and ground and tested pin 2 for a short to ground and tested pin 9 for 3.3 volt.. Would you like a copy of that ultra rare bios file that was extracted from a Australian Halo Xbox dated 2003 Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  8. I have updated my Steller chip to 1.1.0 I tested a 2tb origins HDD that boots on all modchips/modded bios and it would only boot to the MS dash A 2tb HDD that's not cerbios formatted with xbmc4gamers in a folder on e called dashboard loads fine A 3tb HDD with F and G equal splits that loads fine with cerbios reports as no HDD A 1tb SSD that's formatted with cerbios compatibly that I put xbmc4gamers in a folder called dashboard will load 4gamers but it can't find any apps, Homebrew, Games on the drive and the file manager in 4gamers thinks there is F drive put reports path not found. On the plus side it no longer only enters safe mode if you don't have a DVD drive connected. Whoopee !! So for some reason he hasn't or won't add cerbios compatibly. 9. The Xbox motherboard is a 4 layer PCB and if you have ripped the plated hole that's connected to the middle traces from the board there is no coming back. The best thing you can do when learning to solder is find old electronic circuit boards and practice I also recommend you have a read of this tutorial https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-guide-excellent-soldering/common-problems Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  10. The latest version of Fatxplorer is fatxplorer-3-0-beta-22 and the software auto checks for updates on loading. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  11. Good by Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  12. Have a good look at the section in red as I have seen trace damage here from a leaking clock capacitor and they are the port 1/2 traces Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  13. the parts you have listed are only for the clock cap and not the controllers Do you have another Xbox to test the original controller? If you have the DVD kit you can use that to set the clock or at least skip the clock setting and then the non original controller should work. 14. I agree and I do this the chip has a lot of potential so I will wait and let some of the bugs get sorted. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  15. I believe he did the same with the Open Xenium update to some degree as well as I have had a couple of people have issues after updating the OS to his version. I have also seen some comments about people that have ordered a chip and he now is not replying to there contacts about why people that ordered a chip after them have already received there chip. I think I will stick the Stella chip back in the box and wait 3 months and try again, I should have known you never buy version 1 of anything. 16. So is he saying he doesn't have a team of independent beta testers to give feed back before he released a product?? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  17. Sounds like he didn't full test it before releasing the 4 or 5 updates already So I will need to format again. I don't really see why he is trying to 3rd line enforce using only his software or has he been taking lessons from Crapple. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  18. I finely got around to setting up the Project Stella chip. After eventually getting it updated because his severs where running slow. So far I am NOT Impressed, I fitted it in place of a Open Xenium in a version 1.1 and it constantly booted in to safe mode telling me I have pressed the eject button, It doesn't like not having the DVD drive attached and adding a link on the DVD power connector to tell the MB the DVD tray is closed fixed that, It will not boot to a 3Tb HDD ( formatted as a 2.2tb ) that boots with all other bios files even though it's not formatted with cerbios let alone look at the 4tb formatted with cerbios. The 2tb HDD then has xbmc4gamers as the default dash will only boot to the M$ dash So far it's a huge thumbs down from me. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  19. No but I do recommend you practice a couple of time with the power disconnected and I find it easier to have the Xbox on a slight tilt so you can see the LPC pins easier. This zip file has the Xenium tools and a 2meg flash.bin file that's a download from one of my Open Xeniums https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BpzYT4Dy4ZoZI8idvinyd40Voh3BO_ox/view?usp=share_link Once it's finished it should look like this if you power on with the Eject button and it's set to load the UDMA4 bios if you power on with the power button It has the OS 2.3.1 and the vertical lines ( stripes ) are because this pic was taken on a version 1.6 board Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  20. Capacitor C7G6 (22UF 25volt) is missing. Was it removed by mistake? Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  21. I haven't had that happen but I think the easiest to try would be hot swap the mod chip Boot from any modchip then connect the open xenium and load the xeniumtools to re-flash the open xenium I can send a link to the backup of my open xenium to flash to your using xeniumtools if you need it. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  22. Glad to help and thanks for letting us know you have got it sorted.. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  23. I have seen trace damage from a leaking clock capacitor damage the traces for the game ports. Can you post a picture on the bottom of the board. If you upload a high quality pic to a share site then add a link here. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  24. To format the SSD on your PC you don't need to FTP anything. Based on the age of the mod chip you will need to update the bios on the mod chip so you can get to use the full size of the new HDD as the old bios will have a 138gb limit but in order to flash the mod chip you need a working hard drive that boots to a dash board or a external eeprom reader/writer. Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
  25. It sounds like the 128gb drive is dead Is the 1tb drive setup as a Xbox drive or have you just fitted a new unformatted hard drive? Connect the new HDD/SSD to your PC and use Fatxplorer v 3.0 beta to format and install a dash. Here is a tutorial https://www.hazeno.com/og-xbox-hdd-upgrade And here is a link to the latest Fatxplorer https://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/2023/03/11/fatxplorer-3-0-beta-25-major-usb-and-hdd-patch-update/ With the new HDD/SSD you will need to update the bios as it will only support a hard drive of about 140gb Cheers SS Dave Soft modding is like masturbating, It gets the job done but it's nothing like the real thing.
