I have the same make and size HDD in a Xbox here and I get 28sec from pressing the power button to the main screen of xbmc4gamers The drive was formatted with Fatxploer as C, E, F: only there is still 900gb free with around 850 games plus CoinOPS 8 Massive and Ninja Massive I have a 80 wire IDE and Startech sata adaptor I have a 2tb WD blue that's about 25 seconds from power button to dash loaded. The OP's N64 Freak board hasn't got a mod-chip, Both the N64 Freak boards and the OP's come flashed with IND5004.67 bios and as long as the HDD is working and the config.ini is there then there is no issue. If the config file is missing then the fan returns to auto I have found there is no need to run the fan at 100% unless you have downgraded the stock fan with an Noctua fan. The issue with using the UDMA5 with a cheap Sata2ide is stability with some hard drives. You are better off using the UDMA4 until you get a Startech brand adaptor I tested using UDMA5 on a cheap adaptor and some drives work and others have random booting and loading of games problems. Check and or replace the main filter caps next to the GPU heat sink and I find some have poor shielding and when I install then in place of the AV port I add a extra ground from the HDMI connector shield ( the metal around the HDMI Socket) to ground. You can use Xblast to re-flash the bios on that mod-chip but with that chip if you can not flash each bank separately, So whatever you flash to bank1 is also on bank2. I use Xblast net flash option, Load Xblast, select net flash, it will give you an IP address to connect too using any browser, you then select the bios you want to flash and click upload. When formatting a 2tb hard drive I always format it twice The first format of F and G partitions I set the size of the drives to around 920gb each then after it's formatted you need to power off the Xbox for a good 30seconds the power on and load the partitioner program again and this time format F and G to maximum, Then power cycle the Xbox again Yes I would use the Cerbios and don't forget to put the cerbios.ini config file on the root of C drive. Anything is possible and it could be a faulty CPLD chip or a faulty EEprom and there is always a chance the mod-chip that was shipped to you is one that was in the box of tested chips by mistake ( we all can make mistakes ). If that's the case then there is no point on nulling the HDD password if the key is calculated using the drives serial number, The way I read is the hard drive key is calculated from the Xbox serial number and nothing to do with the hard drive's model and or the serial number. As an example you can buy a fully loaded Hard drive online that's pre locked to a nulled key and drop it in any Xbox that has a nulled HDD key. Is the DVD a Philips drive? Do you have a mod-chip on that MB? or would you consider fitting a chip? If it was mine I would at least test the Cerbios and if you use a modchip if you don't like it all you have to do is remove the chip and it's back to the way it was. The Cerbios in conjunction with a SSD will allow you to take advantage you faster IDE bus speeds, currently the bus runs at UDMA2 and the Cerbios allows UDMA5 when you use a Startech Sata2Ide and a 80 wire IDE cable. I still believe the modchip has a blank EEprom. That list you found lists "Usually due to a failed or improperly installed modchip" We have been over your installation and besides some soldering issues at first, The soldering issue has been fixed so that leaves the Mod-chip at fault. If it was a installation problem then just disconnecting the D0 wire ( Red wire) from the modchip would not allow the Xbox to boot normally.
