Your switch is a normally open momentary switch installed in the controller.  One side of the switch tied to ground and the other to the yellow wire in the controller cable.

I have that done but what I am not fully understanding is in regards to working on the mobo for this mod. Specifically the (red wire) that must be soldered to the 2 pin & other end gets soldered to the stripped yellow cable of controller port 1

    this probably was the trouble

inspected everything resoldered every capacitor and resistor in the ram area, now it booted. oh yeah, the tester is your friend.

    CASE CLOSED.

Glad the info help you solve the dilemma with the RAM... Xblast's RAM tester is definitely needed to trouble shoot...

  3. How did you solder the RAM? Each leg individually or drag technique with the appropriate solder tip?

If u dragged  make sure u didn't accidently remove or bridge any SMT component next to the RAM pads if u look closely u can see that there are tiny resistors by the pads

  4. What was your source for the extra RAM ?

I also just recently tsopd a 1.2 mobo w/ IND Bios 5003 & did the RAM upgrade & had no issues... Did the system work before the RAM & tsop? If u removed all the extra RAM u installed & cleaned up the pads from any bridges, then the only thing in mind that I think it could be is either a bad tsop flash or random solder splatter from installing the RAM...

tried to play Halo? because the panel has both sticks.

I removed the second joystick(blue), once I figured out that wiring an analog stick to a 8 position joystick is not possible..  maybe if i found an analog joystick?

I wish i could play halo on this panel. That would be awsome!

  7. Made an Arcade control panel using an original Xbox Type-S controller PCB

Followed the wiring schematics from http://slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_wiring.html#PCB_DIAGRAMS

And came up with this design...

The 2 momentary black push buttons are left click (LC) and right click (RC) & the red one serves as an ON/OFF button.

At first I thought I would have both left & right analog stick control , but that was not very feasible, at least for me( input welcomed if someone has wired up an analog control for an og xbox controller?) ... So instead I went with the d-pad for movement control.

If there is enough interest I wouldn't mind making a build video for another one.

    Hope you guys like it!

    Thoughts & input welcomed :)
