Just for the sake of it. I bought a LG GDR-8163B on the Dutch Marketplace for 10 euro and especially for flashing it computer with a ide sockets on themotherboard for 15 euro's. So a total of 25euro's. I could have bought an xbox for it. But he where is the fun in that? ( actually that is also fun) But I flashed it and it worked like a charm first time. What I did is made a freedos bootdrive form an old usb stick. put the jumper in the right place en worked. After the (relatively easy) soldering the drive did not work as planned. I had it in Master mode and starnge errors about udma and reflashing were shown. I changed the jum,per to slave and all was well. nice experience and works like a charm.

The 40 GB HDD is present. The xbox is now like a stock xbox with a slightly bigger HDD. Stock dashboard is present. Also some savegames from splintercell. 007 and mechassult. So i have no idea wich game was used for the exploit. This afternoon i hope to receive a cope of splintercell and a usb adapter. I gathered some old usbdrives and hope that one wil work..... I have never dealt with softmods or TSOP'S. Back ij the day I had a modchip in my new xbox the smartxx. Thanks for your help

The drive is not accesible since the softmod is gone. Can I reach the drive with ftp? I thought that was only possible after the TSOP? I am not worried about the files on the drive that much I am experimenting now. It is a locked 40 GB HDD so in the end it will possibly will be replaced. I tried to ftp to the drive with filezilla but no luck. I think there is no ftp server in the standard Xbox.

thanks Bowlsnapper. I did not realise it was possible to direct tsop flash it. I will read my self in to it. I took the roed via softmod because it was already softmodded. I made either a mistake or the points were still not good although I tested them. So I resoldered the points and I will try again!! Direct TSOP wow that sounds better!

I took of the little sticker and found out it is a ST chip M29F080A. Should have done that in the first place.....

I have a v1.0 xbox wich was softmodded. I bought it that was. today I wanted to Tsop flash it. I soldered the points they show continuity with the multimeter. I update the softmod with rocky's extras ddisk to a modern softmod. But I want cerbios to be able to play cci games So I took the cerbios installer disk and flashed mij made bios with the cerbiosdisk option softmod. But when I started the flash nothing happened.so went back to the menu and flashed the original bios ....... wrong button so now I am stuk with the original bios again. Not a big deal because I can soft mod t again probably. Tomorrw i receive a copy of splintercell so I will try. But why did it not flash? I probably made a wrong bios? I used a tool for my executer x2 chip and coupled 4 ecrbioses (256 Kb) and created a 1MB biosfile. But may be that is not ok.... Or I have a different kind of tsop chip...... I took a phot could someone please tell me what kind of TSOPO i have? it has a sticker but I do not see the name...... Thanks in advance!

I have kind of the same chip just missing the red connector on the chip. I bought the xbox with this chip just last week and it had the symptoms you describe. Very hard to boot but it would boot readily with the chip set of. It has three selector. first one is chip on/off. causing it to start with original bios or the chip bios. What I did was reflashed both banks and problem seems over . But what I also did was gave the switsches/slectors somewhat of a clean and switched them all more than a dozen times to free them of any corrosion on the contacts. These switches can be bad too. I would clean the switches just bij switching them a couple of times. If that did not helpI would flash them with new bios. I diid that with cerbios (2x256 Kb and cromwell 2x 256Kb).

Where is Chronicles of Riddick ( escape from Butcher bay)installed iun XBMC4Gamers? Is there a way to find out where the source directory is for a game? The game Chronicles of Riiddick does show up in the lineup of games right after Chronicles of Narnia. I have the full CCI rom set installed with cerbios. I want to copy that game to another Xbox. I looked on my PC in the CCI set but could not find it. Also in my games directory on the xbox ( where all my games are installed) I can not locate it. If I disable game name no title is shown in the lineup from games. only if I opt for both labels or game label Thye name is shown. That makes me think thjat the directory might be different...... This is the set of games which I have. it is the whole set in CCI form done by the tool repackinator. May be somebody with the same gameset knows how it is called or somebody knows how to show the game location within XBMC4gamers? Thanks in advance for answers or ideas.

I have a 1.6 with smartxx chip and flashed it with cerbios. Great bios for the fact I can run cci format games. I might haveto open another topic for this but I wanted to copy a game frokm my harddrive to my new xbox with the xecuterchip. I have the whole cci library on my pc and installened on my 2TB drive in the 1.6 Xbox. But....... I can not find the folder for the chronicles of Riddick escape from butcher bay...... I have searched it on the HDD from teh PC also on the HD from the xbox with filezilla but it is not there. The game shows up in xbmc4gamers but not in the filemanager.... very strange. I noticed when I only enable the foldername in the game view of xbmc4gamers it does not have a name. when I enable game name or both (game and folder) the name is shown under the image of the game. I want to copy the game but cannot find it.... very odd!!! Maybe it is in a different folder name?
