  1. I’m extremely interested in getting one of these some day. I really need a crystal version though. Found one on eBay and dude wanted $700. I don’t think I’ll ever bring myself to drop that much on one. Holding out in high hopes that the reproduction of these starts soon. It’s only a matter of time.
  2. @SS_Dave should see this. Then check out Dave’s signature if you’ve never payed attention to it.
  3. I'm sure there are dishonest sellers put there, but I've not had any bad experiences thus far. The feedback does play a good role in that I believe. Especially when they're not copy and paste testimonials and from US users. This may also be true. At the same time, it's no different than an ebay store or online retailers. Bad reviews will no doubt steer future customers away. I asked the person if these are the exact chips I will receive. They replied promptly with good English and I took a chance. Glad I did because after I tested it, I ordered many more from them. All flashed perfectly fine from the xbox itself.
  4. Ok, well you've quoted me in both replies so they're no doubt, directed at me. Now that that's cleared up, I'll make it crystal clear for everyone that NO, not all of them are able to be flashed from the xbox. If you're smart and do your research, you can determine which ones are. Or, simply click the link I provided and contact the seller.
  5. Well, I never made that claim at all. I provided a link to a seller that sold chips that are verified to be flashable from the xbox. I also said I had bought some that werent, during my hunt. So please read first before posting that my comments are false or inaccurate. That doesn't help the thread in any way whatsoever
  6. Yes. And I just use xblast why would I lie? Order one for yourself HERE is a thread on the matter and there was also another one about the same time I’ll add it also, if I can find it. If you make sure to buy the ones talked about in the pictures, then you should be fine. I tested the information and it was true. That’s all I can say
  7. I’ve gotten all of mine except for one from AliExpress. Was in a rush for that one and resorted to Amazon for double the price. Luckily it took two purchases to find the right seller. Only bought one from each to test the water. Then I ordered a batch from the link above and all were flashed just fine.
  8. This seller had the best I’ve found. They are able to be flashed from the Xbox. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqFF24q
  9. I’m thinking this is awesome and why hasn’t this happened sooner.
  10. I’ve been watching this thread and kept failing to mention that I have several spare 120V PSUs. I am however in the US. I have zero need for them over here. Let me know if any of you gents across the pond are interested in a bulk purchase.
  11. I really love the reduction of clutter here. So much more potential for cleaning out the guts. Will definitely be doing one of these soon.
  12. Sounds like you didn’t add a dashboard and the Xbox has nothing to boot into. If you’re able, download and burn the Rocky 5 Extras disc or OGXboxInstaller. You’ll be able to install a dash from either of those, fairly easy.
  13. You'll need an eeprom reader or a variant of raspberry pi to pull the eeprom from the motherboard in order to build a new drive. If it's a 1.0-1.4 you can flash the TSOP with minimal soldering required. Zero soldering required if you order a conductive paint pen.
  14. Yes it's possible if you have the proper tools. Hard mods such as TSOP flash and Mod Chips do not require disc drives to be modded. However, you will need to one of the few bios' that allow the xbox to run without the presence of the disc drive. Soft modding, will require the disc drive because it needs to run an exploit within the game to perform the mod. Hope that helps
  15. I think it was the very early version/s of the 1.0 that didn't throw error codes
  16. I recommend running some tests on the HDD to verify that’s it’s still in working order and not on its last leg. I have plenty of IDE HDDs if that turns out to be the issue.
  17. @Galindradaplease post a picture of the error screen in its entirety. Edit: If you have some soldering skills, you could connect the TSOP points in preparation of a flash. Some of the 1.0 boards can throw errors without a code. I think the earlier versions just didn’t have that built in to them. This being said, it could be any number of things wrong with it and backing up your eeprom should be the top priority right now.
  18. I'd start with giving the laser lens a good cleaning and see if maybe that changes anything.
  19. You can easily get 2-4TB Sata drives for $30-50 and even cheaper if you’re bargain savy. Saying they’re expensive and less cost efficient than an SSD is just silly. Of course you can find everything at higher price points, but that doesn’t mean they’re not available for much cheaper if you look around.
  20. @KaosEngineer @SS_Dave
  21. Sounds like the disc drive board is dead. Therefore the Xbox can’t verify that there is a dvd drive connected and won’t complete the boot process. Time for a new drive or going all digital and get a module in place of the drive.
  22. Did you change the jumpers at all while cloning? If so, did you remember to change them back? Have you tried the original drive again?
  23. If that drive s an IDE device then use UDMA2 as RMM suggested. Once you start using SATA drives you can start speeding up to UDMA 4-6, depending on your adapter and IDE cable.
