so,you re-installed the softmod on your drive and there were no errors,but when you turned it off and then back on stopped working,weird. What mod did you install? Have you waited for some time or any error message has apeared upon bootup? What xbox version do you have? Also did you use the xbox while being softmodded and then turned it off or when the installation was done or you did all of that from your pc and then you pluged the drive onto the xbox? the answear for that will give enough information on what might cause this problem. Lastly,what drive are you using,an hdd or an ssd? Im asking that because if you use an IDE to SATA adapter,you need an 80 pin cable instead of the stock 40 for the drive to work properly on the xbox

the xbox is a 1.6b(2005) so, i think it needs to be soldered to to the TSOP flash, Right? How to find a EEPROM reader,do you have a link to one? Thank you in advance

I want to change the hdd of my xbox with an ssd, because the optical drive is not working, but I know that I need the EEPROM to trick the xbox into thinking that the ssd is its original drive, but I dont really know how to do it without installing a custom firmware on the hdd and then be able to use an FTP to get it (the stock firmware doesn't allow the xbox to connect to a pc via ethernet). Then the only other way to do that is "hotswapping" but it requires an old computer with IDE connections but it's a bit difficult to find one. so if there is another way of doing this,let me know to try it Thank you in advance

i dont really want ot buy a "new" optical drive,simply because i want to fix that one and then i will softmod my console and change the 8gb hdd (which is in working condition and has some saves) to a 256 gb ssd. But because im new in the modding part, dont know how to do it without using the dvd so i would rather fix it to work for the last time, to load a custom save file to do the softmod and then after that i would use FTP to load a bunch of games on the ssd,so the dvd would not be needed after that.

i have a xbox with the Samsung sdg 605f and while i dont have any errors on startup, but i always get a disk read error. So these might be causing the issue,because it stoped working for no reason It was working just fine,then i turned the console off for some hours and when i turned it back on i had the dirty or damaged disk error and to be sure i tried multiple games and still i would then the same error

i also have this model of the SDG-605 dvd drive and the potentiometer is on the side,near the the flex cable that connects the laser to the board, but the screw seems to be a different from a conventional screw so you need a specific screwdriver to adjust it
