  1. Plug it in and see. Guess linux should be smart enough to find one.
  2. Sry but I can't help you with VirtualBox (Never used it my self) nor flashing in Linux. The only hing I could tell is that Linux assigns a false ID to the Altera USB Blaster as written above. But I would think as you have installed urjtag just choose the flash file and flash it.
  3. You could skip buying the latest playboy in favor of buying a 10 bucks oldschool rig. Don't tell me you downloaded the suit and deletet it after installing? If so WHY? If not, copy the suit to your VM and install it. Give it a go. Here's a little hint : Altera USB Blaster device ID is 6001 insead of 6010.
  4. Yes, he's using a lattice prgrammer clone. But at the end it's pretty much the same for the basics. For the rest using the USB Blaster Ryzee's tut will show the way. If you are not willing to put some work into it no one can help you. It's retro modding which sometimes need retro tools and retro hardware. And sure sometimes modding sucks when you run into walls. How ever, in this case everthing you need to know is out there. The major problem is you running win 11. MAYBE you could wörk around with an bootable linux.
  5. The USB blaster can programm lattice chips. ^^ Bowly, do us a favor. Read the git from Ryzee's aladdinLCD. and Kekules Aladdin XBlast github page. There is everthing ( E V E R I T H I N G ) you need to now how to do it. You just need to read it. Ryzee's tut is perfect to follow and you just need to flash the XBlast file instead of the LCD file. Thats it. And Modzville has a video about it. And win10/11 are probably the deal breakers here. You don't want to setup a vm, buy an old school rig? Well....
  6. I would bet that win11 causes the problems but not to sure. Try a Win 7 x64 VM (Not to sure if you can get it to work in a VM at all). And get a 10 dollar Win XP/7 PC (dang it). You have read the post above yours? There is a rdy to flash bios setup I attached. Just flash that to the SST and good. (#Read the edit!)
  7. Oh dear. For the USB Blaster drivers you have rename some of the files and copy them to different places in Win 10, not to sure about about Win 11 because I don't use it. There is a video out on YT how to do it. You don't flash with the Quartus, you just needed it to get the drivers. Check the both .rar files I had gave you ALaddinLCD and Aladdin XBlast. There is basicly everthing you need to now how to flash. Basiscly you can follow Ryzee's AladdinLCD tutorial. It's everthing the same with Aladdin-XBLast just that you use the XBlast file. For the SST. I have send you a XBlast-Lite with removable SST. Just dump the SST and flash it to your and your Aladdin-XBlast you are good to go, EDIT: Added the bios for the SST (512kb bank = Cerb UDMA5 / 256kb bank = Cerb UDMA2 / XBlast OS on the last bank) [email protected]
  8. Coffee. More coffee and a cute doggy. (Get rid of that cat, they are evil). 4real, nothing realy. Some wire (I use the awg30 which I have on hand but you can also use some smaller (awg 32/34 emerald wire if prefere). Some expoxy to glue the cut off back to the main PCB and secure the wires 4 ever. Some sandpaper and a cutting disc for your drehmel. Some tape so you know where you have to cut. And ofc a display to begin with. And the only thing you realy need to take care of is that you cut above the traces on top otherwise you need to rebuild these which is 100% avoidable. On the bottom just cut under the vias. Thats it basicly. AND count your fingers before you start. The amount should be the same before and after.
  9. Come one.... You soldered RAM chips and to make a display is not realy that hard. My first one was "Either I fuck this up or it wörks" ninja style. Not so much because of the top side, you can see where you have to cut (so that you don't have to rebuild all the small traces). No more or less because of the bottom side because there isn't any info out there if you just can cut it of. It tuned out that you just can cut it off to keep controller ports 3+4. So the only challange is to solder to the vias and rebuild the soldering points which you can create out of the part you have cut off. (See here: https://imgur.com/a/vlz3EAW ) And you can simply solder a 90° header to the XBlast-Lite (See pic) .
  10. Well, there are many ways to make it work. TSOP and use an AladdinLCD or just a simple LC4032lv. Or XBLast-Lite, Xeno, OX (With Spi2Par) which have the option for it do drive the panel right away. But overall, I meant it as a "challange" to make one just for the sake of it and not to sell them in the first place even if you could if you become good at it. And just to show of some quality görman engineering I attached a lille picture of a LCD driver board made by PJ (aka Xetoxic). Anyway, You have an XBlast-Lite so just make one for your own to begin with.
  11. For the skill? Hmmm. Yeah, you can do that. Wanna little challange? Get your self one of the HD44780 lcd displays and make it fir for a frontpanel. With your scope and your 0.6 tip it should not be a problem anymore.
  12. Nah come on, do not fool us. It does not make things easyer when you actualy can see them. Total waste of money. A candle and a little 2x hand magnifier would had done the same.
  13. I hoped to score big in a lotttery but hey, we can't always get what we want.
  14. cable select is cable select and not basicly master. Thats why you you have MA/CS/SL.
  15. DVD is always slave and HDD always master since for ever. @KaosEngineer already told you that in your troubleshooting topic with your adapter.
  16. See attachments. The pic shows how you di it on the 8164b and the PDF is for the 8163b XBOX DVD Drive Retrofit LG GDR 8163B.pdf
  17. The jumper on the SATA adapter has always to be master.
  18. In my case the 8164b works way better ofc with a mod-bios. The only + for the 63b is that it work on stock xboxes but who wants a stock xbox anyway?
  19. You missed the best days with c64 and Amiga. BABY!
  20. Why do you use TITAN in the first place with all his major trade offs? TITAN in it's current (for ever?) stage is nothing more as a proof of concept.
  21. My pleasure. You don't need this DVD to flash your OX. You can flash the OX in the OX GUI via FTP or from HDD.
  22. If you and your brother cant find one, let me know. I have a RGH3 Jasper V2 (Kronos) MW2 edition here. We don't have here some don't we?
