  1. That’s why I was thinking coma console in this case. As Bowl mentions it could be a lot of things. Reading your post though it reminded me of a 1.0 I had that did the same. I was able to remedy it with that by forcing the Xbox to use other banks. Wanted to mention it as a possible fix.

  2. For capacitors definitely go with Mouser Electronics or Digikey if you’re US based.

  3. I've been in the process of preserving my entire DVD movie collection in ISO format. Coincidentally, I stopped growing my collection about the same time the OG Xbox reached the end of its lifecycle - circa 2006. I realize this approach probably isn't going to be for everybody, as many have moved on to MKVs and Plex, etc. For me, however.. I'm still chasing that vision I had almost 20 years ago, of having all those movies accessible from a beautiful carousel menu, complete with artwork and synopsis - exactly like we have our games in XBMC4Gamers today! I'm able to play these movies perfectly from the File Manager already, but I need help understanding how to make them show up in XBMC4Gamers menu, just like if they were game discs. I think I need to create custom XBEs that link to the DVDs main IFO? Maybe there is even a script I can tweak to automate the process? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm hoping to leverage some of the current Kodi scripts to help pull in all the artwork and other data. In case that doesn't work out, I'm prepared to do it all by hand. If anyone is already working on something similar and would like to collaborate, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be doing about 800 movies myself, and I'm happy to share a complete pack with all the artwork and everything when it's done.

  4. I got a set of 100 sticks a few months ago and recommend them. Good quality, have some texture, but not too much. A few of them were hard to press on, but eventually did. I've used this 80 wire 5 times now and it feels sturdy, solid connectors. These are the best caps I've came across, he used to have a description on them that explained why they were better than the normally recommended ones. Super low esr, or low ohms, something like that. If you find an official HD pack without the cables, these are always recommended that I've seen, and have great reviews. I plan on ordering these belts, as I've read they will work with the 22mm ID drives. I use the ifixit toolkit and love it. I just wish it had an extra long extension that is the same size as the bits. I can barely fit the bit into a duke, and some 3rd party controllers, the bits just wont reach at all. The extension that comes with the kit is too wide.

  6. Nothing is out of date, if it works it works. So just replacing a dash or 'updating' the BIOS is a question of personal choice not necessity. Why a "Backup" eeprom option is missing is probably because the evox.ini (the dash's configuration/settings file) has been customised for safety reasons. The Flash BIOS option too I'd guess is also likely missing (DO NOT MESS WITH THAT IF IS STILL THERE). But in any case as yours is a hardmod the eeprom backup is less important than if it was a softmod. It is still a good idea to back it up to PC. Check the HDD lock status, being a hardmod you'd expect it to be unlocked but if it is locked then the eeprom backup becomes a little more important. 1). If your EvoX dash does not have a eeprom "Backup" you can either edit/replace the evox.ini but, safer, to install ConfigMagic, an Xbox app, that will do that for you and also put in a safety net in the form of a master password. There are disc based installer tools that will also backup the eeprom for you. Your choice which you choose. 2). No need to delete XBMC or Avalaunch. They're alternative dashboards installed as apps which can be useful, you might even prefer XBMC to EvoX and decide to replace it as your main dash. Ask here for advice before attempting to do that yourself. 3). Not ever seen Xenium installed as an app - possibly a Xenium chip was previously fitted. That's just a guess, somebody here who knows more about Xenium and chip stuff than I do will know doubt be able to help with that. 4). The BIOS is completely separate thing from the dash. UnleashX and XBMC4Gamers are just other dashboards, they do not need a BIOS update to be able to use either. If the chip is a standard Aladdin type it came with a pre-installed universal EvoX M8+ which is perfectly good enough in most circumstances. The golden rule with BIOS, Xbox or PC, is never update them unless you are a 100% sure it will provide some new benefit or a problem fix you're actually going benefit from. Otherwise don't. You can replace your primary dash with a new dash and I'd suggest any one with a built in file manager is a better choice than EvoX.
