Does the negative NEED to be bridged with that capacitor to the negative of the analog channel(...whatever side white is)?

Thanks, couldn't find pictures with optical emitter in the diagram. I'll reuse xbox 360 component cable board. Right now i desoldered selector switch and wires. Now i think i will route something like a ribbon cable under AV port and stick component board on the back with double sided tape.

Wait, how exactly are you setting this up? You're using a selector switch? Are you adding anything besides the optical port?
