  1. My original xbox died 10 years ago and the drive has been sitting on the shelf ever since. I recently installed an Aladdin XT Plus2 chip in a 1.6 Xbox and I have hexen19 burned onto a DVD. How Do I replace the stock drive with the drive from my old u modded xbox? The reason I want to use the old drive is that I want to transfer my save files off of it then place a new drive in the xbox, if this isn't possible, is there another way to transfer my files off the old drive. The drive is a Seagate not a WD.
  2. Quick question I am finding difficult to search online. Like most, I mainly play games directly from the hard drive, but do occasionally like to play my games on disc. I am wondering if there is an application out there that gives you the option of disabling the dvd drive on startup? I want to keep my dvd drive alive for as long as possible, and I cringe everytime I boot the Xbox and the laser searches for a disc that isn't there. It seems I am just degrading the lifetime of the drive that way. If I can disable the drive when I am not using it, I bet I would be able to squeeze more life out of it. Thanks!
  3. i hard modded a 1.4. i have replaced the clock cap. i still have some stuff to finish up on it and i was wondering if there was any reason to replace the 3300uf and 1500uf caps on it? the xbox seems to work fine so, if i did change them, would there be any benefit?
  4. i'm ftp'ing a bunch of games to my xbox. it has auto shutoff twice now and it is kind of annoying. how do i stop it from shutting itself off?
  5. SO when I turn it on, it starts and stops a few times before it finally gets going and then when it does I get no image or sound and the light just flashes red and green. At first I thought it was my IDE adapter on my new hard drive, but when I replaced the unnamed brand one with a startech it still did it. To be clear, my xbox DOES work if I keep fucking with the power button and I can play games normally (Have not extensively tested to see if it randomly shuts off or anything after a long period of time. Anyone know what the problem could be?
  6. Looking for help with my modded Xbox. I had this done by someone (can’t remember who) back in 2005/2006 and I haven’t started it up in over 5 years. I have tried a lot of button combos and it won’t boot up. It won’t even boot up in regular mode either. No matter what I do it turns on then Immediately shuts back off. It is a Halo edition with the X3 and control panel like the one pictured above. Any help would be appreciated. Also looking for recommendations for someone that could repair it if necessary. 7253D5C9-ED2A-4D4D-A5B4-E6A12DBFF7CE.mov
  7. Just if someone would like to sell one
  8. Hello all... I've been researching this issue for over a week and can't find a solution so hoping you all can help. I bought this modded xbox about 15 years ago with the games already backed up on HDD. I've added a bunch of pics of the screens. 1- why is the default xecuter2 (or is it evoX?) main menu screen so ugly and inefficient? it takes up to 3 clicks to actually get to games. Could you point me to tutorials on how to customize this? 2- when i looked up tutorials on how to ftp and finally figured it out, it looks like i have folders (partitions??) C, E, and F with files loaded. E only has ~4GB capacity, and F has about 60GB. But I'm reading that actually F and G should have large capacities. Should G be able to hold games or files? Currently G is empty. 3- I've made 6 coasters so far trying to burn ISOs to play from the Disc drive. Nothing seems to be working because the xbox doesn't recognize the discs at all. Normal xbox discs and DVD movies play perfectly. Burned ISO images on DVD-R do not work. Any ideas?? I'm using ImgBurn and extract-XISO at 4x speed with DVD-Rs.
  9. I have heard in order to upgrade your xbox original hard drive from the original to a 121gb or more you need a special bios. I am clueless on this topic any help would be appreciated. Also if you couldn't tell already my xbox is hardmodded. Any help would be appreciated!!
  10. Hello everybody, I have a problem with my old xbox with amd duox2 modchip.. i would be happy if anyone could help.. (sorry my english, i'm not a native speaker) I stopped using this xbox years ago because the DVD tray open and close casually, with no input from me (-> MAIN PROBLEM). Yesterday I decided to fix it: since every weld looked ok but the motherboard was very dusty, I tried to clean it up gently with compressed air and remove welding dirt from motherboard with the help of a cotton stick and alcohol. BEFORE the cleaning: - xbox powered up booting customer bios every time i plug it to the power, I could switch off by pushing the eject button; - xbox powered up with original bios if I switch off (pushing eject button) and then again switch on by pushing the eject button; - the power on/off button (smaller one) never worked as I can remember; - DVD tray open and close casually (and continuosly), with no input from me, with both bios. AFTER the cleaning: - xbox no more power up when I plug it to the power (no blinking led light on the modchip); - xbox powered up with original bios if I switch on by pushing the eject button; - xbox power on/off button (smaller one) still doesn't work; - DVD tray still open and close casually (and continuosly), with no input from me. Since I didn't mod the xbox by myself at the time, I looked some tutorial but I didn't find anyone using my setup. I don't know why I have BT point welded to the front panel.. When the xbox was modded everything worked fine for a while, then I remember I got some problems and a friend did something at the weld on the motherboard.. I can't remember exactly (>15 years ago). I'm not an expert but it seems to me that there is a bad connection somewhere.. Are there anything I can try to find the problem? Can I simply remove/unweld the modchip and get the xbox work like when it was original? THX
  11. Hello new to the Xbox modding scene I picked up a hard modded xbox and everything works great except for sound and I can’t figure out why... I have tried different cables and different tv’s still no luck Don’t know to much about chips and what it has to be honest I’m still learning lol
  12. Hi Found this site thank goodness .Just purchased a newly modded box am looking obviously for info regarding the loading of games onto drive via ftp
  13. My wife says I have an addiction. I have too many and I will only keep TWO. I have many working xboxes - all tsop flashed and most with upgraded IDE drives / cables. Not going to ask for a fortune. My hobby was mostly fixing and flashing all of these. I haven't touched many for a long time - but they work. I have extra cases, power supplies, controllers, games... LOTS. I'm in Canada and would like to sell to Canada but would sell to the US. I will only charge for the shipping and about $5 extra to cover the cost of boxing them up safely. Email me at pkarza@gmail.com - I live in central Canada (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan) and yes... that is real. Just north of North Dakota. Send me an email and what you are looking for. It has been a hobby.... time to move on - but I am probably going to always fix these!!
  14. Hi guys, First off I want to thank everyone for their help along the way I've learned a lot from this forum sure I could have had other people do it for me But honestly I wouldn't have learned as much but I still have a few questions so I'm going to go ahead and post them here (1) I have a whole bunch of burn CDs for the Dreamcast could my Xbox read them? (2) with my 500gb IDE drives now installed 110 gig devoted new Xbox games another 80 for coin-ops and probably another hundred for SNES What would you add now if you were me (3) I'm thinking of skining my Xbox is there a site still that I can get skins I really don't want to paint the unit I could buy a bus in Xbox and paint it that case and then just transplant my own but I really don't want to go to the time and after that
  15. I'm debating selling this Xbox and I really don't want to be low-balled because I don't know the true value of it, so I was hoping you guys could help me. I know it's an Xecutor 3 Christmas Edition chip with a black pro switch, which I've heard is pretty rare; the 4th bank switch is missing the cover cap but I'm trying to find a replacement for it.
  16. Hi - I recently updated my hard drive using HDM v 1.9 and it is now ready to mod - I have two options 1. Since I have all the files from back in the day to use Splinter Cell the SID I could mod it easily then I can use put Rocky 5 over it using the Rocky 5 disk. OR 2. Go to the trouble of setting up Rocky 5 Memory card mod -using a flash drive and Splinter Cell - have all the leads from back in the day and recently downloaded all the files and software needed. My question is does it matter if I choose the lazy option (number 1 above) or since I'm starting afresh with a new drive should I take the Option 2 route? Thanks in advance

  19. Hello all, just got my xbox modded with a 2tb drive and Rocky5's Emustation, looking for some assistance. Most of my roms are running well so far with the exception of N64. Now I know that it is set up to run the N64 set from Earthworm James. Trouble is, I cant find that pack anywhere at all, been searching for days now. I was wondering if anyone here knows where it is or has a link available, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Hey all. i hope you can help. My 'Project Xbox' (V1.4) which i generally tinker with has an Aladdin X2 running IND bios. All my other Xbox's are either soft modded or have Xceuter 2 installed. I've never tsop'd a console and was thinking that i should give it a go and move the Aladdin X2 off too one of my 1.6's that has been soft modded. Can i boot to dash, pull the chip and then flash the tsop? Assume i have already bridged the 1.4 mobo ready for a tsop flash? ( This box, like all my others has a failed DVD that doesn't read discs. so need to do all this from the xbox itself) And... what software should i flash with? Thanks heaps
  21. I bought an xbox on ebay and now I noticed somethings I didn't before. Can anyone identify what is in the picture. I appoligize If this is in the wrong category this is my first post. In the first picture it is those 2 dots next to the disc tray. In the second picture it's the blue output. And in the third there appears to be something coming out of the controller. Also this was advertised as an xecuter 2 mod chipped xbox, and I paid $90.
  22. Hey guys.... I just found my original Crystal modded xbox from years ago tucked away in a corner in the loft. Only thing is it has faulty Ethernet port. Is it easy to swap them out for a replacement? If so does anyone have a tut?? Otherwise i want to update the softmod that is in it..... I bought it already modded and it was supposed to be chipped but well i have opened it and there is deffo no modchip inside. Its also a 1.6 so no TSOP either so by process of elimination it has to be softmodded. My question is..... Am i safe to run Rocky5's softmod updater from the extras disc to update it? If so can i...(using a FATX formatted usb stick) copy the extracted extras disc to the E drive and run it from there as i cannot seem to get the DVD drive to read anything.... Oh yeah heres a quick vid of the old school XBMC dash it has on it
  23. Hey all, looking to sell my Halo 2 Special Edition unit modded with an Xecuter 3 chip, and fitted with an Xecuter 3 CP- a rather desirable setup for the enthusiast. It has not gotten the attention that I would have liked, so I'm looking to sell it, necessary cables, and a controller for $260. System is in great condition, and functions 100%. System also has a 250gb HDD.
  24. NooB

    'error 5'

So I tried to softmod my Xbox and accidentally Unlocked my HDD thinking that would make possible to install a bigger HDD, so now i keep on getting Error 5. Can anybody give this noob some advice???
