I have an X3 modded console with the pro faceplate. I’ve seen videos online of people using dvd remotes to remotely power on the system. I have also seen videos of people using the Logitech wireless controllers with the dongles mounted inside the machine. I am wondering if this is something that can be/has been done, and if so are there any tutorials/ people willing to do the mod for $. Thank you.

i currently have an xbox that has never been modded but is missing the original hard drive. is there anything i can do to put in a new hard drive so i can soft mod the machine in order to tsop it? all help is appreciated.

A friend gave me back the xbox I made for him years ago. I want to update it for my grankids. It is chipped with an xecuter 2, is a version 1.6, and currently has an ancient 150GB hdd. Primarily, I want to put in a new HDD, planning on a 500GB, and use a Startech SATA/IDE adapter with an 80 wire cable. Then I want to add Coinops, and XBMC; the XBMC primarily for karaoke. Also a decent dash, thinking probably the last UnleashX. I have copied all the contents onto a drive via ftp. I am confused as to how to 1) install the new hdd and 2) how to install the dash/apps. From what I read on the wiki and elsewhere, supposedly, I can just install the drive, boot, and the xecuter wizard should walk me through formatting the drive. I assume that then I can put in the Hexen disk and it will install the dash's. Is this right? My xbox modding days are long behind me (even the 360 mod days, lol). Any help is appreciated.

I'm doing my own mod which is a challenge considering I only have a available cable power and three xboxs Controller in the post New to modding but I'm hooked I've had to start with a softmod as I'm told before I can tsop I'd love to buy I chip mod but budget is zero I have a 1.2 which I believe can be tsop flashed my worry is soft modding is the away Todo it just with 360xplorer and hexen I'm in the process of trying

With help from some others, I was able to get this chip flashed a 1.6 compatible BIOS hotswapping it into a 1.0 xbox and that went well. I thought I completed the physical install of the chip into the Xbox and things went smoothly. I had an old X3 LPC rebuild board that was unused so I soldered in the pin header and used the rebuild board to rebuild the LPC. I then soldered the spot on the rebuild board marked D0 on the modchip to D0 on the rebuild board (soldered to the location on the motherboard). I go to power on the Xbox and it boots immediately if the modchip is placed on the pin header if connected to power but currently off. It boots immediately if modchip is already on the pin header and I plug in power. Both boot to MS Dash with no signs of the chip being powered on or functional. Xbox would work as stock without any issue, I"m assuming. If modchip is removed from pin header and plugged in. I have to hit power button as normal but Xbox boots up as normal. Any idea what could be causing the Xbox to auto-boot when the modchip is in place? I've run out of ideas and documentation/youtube videos/random forum posts that I've found are either gone from the internet, or a slightly different scenario rendering the info useless. I did NOT do anything with the LFrame trace.

Hello, My friend gave me his OG Xbox but he doesn't know if it's modded or no ( I have no idea about modding etc, but when I boot the console I see a sign says EVO X on the left corner of the screen ) problem is that after the XBOX startup screen , I get an error 08 and sometimes 09, and the eject button is flashing red and green. Any help guys is really appreciated!!! Thanks

Hello i just brought a Crystal Xbox and i need some help. I have been speaking to the guy who sold it to me, He knows nothing about modding but has been super helpful, He brought the xbox of his friend before him, But his friends got the xbox of someone else before that. What i need help with is distinguishing weather the Xbox that i have brought has a mod chip or not? He tells me when he turns on the Xbox an Evo x logo come up in the top left corner. He also says it is region free, and plays DVDs without the dvd add on. I asked for more detail and this is what he told me and this is all he knows. The seller. Ok I’ve checked and you need to hold the power button down to get the evo x logo to show. Holding down the eject button or just simply pressing the power button boots it to the xboxdashboard. So I’m guessing that it has the chip but the bios needs flashing by connecting to a pc. I don’t have a clue how to do that. I know nothing about Xbox modding at all. If i have brought a modded Xbox then i may need some advice, on stuff like How to flash a bios on it, What bios to use? I would want to replace the CD rom drive as he says it is sticky and upgrade the HDD so i can install games to the HDD My problems is that i know 0 about modding original Xboxes. But i have some technical background and i have modded previous consoles. Thank you! Sorry for my lack on knowledge on the subject. I also brought a USB Adaptor Cable Cord for Xbox (Original) So i can use a usb on the xbox if needed. He says the The manufacture date of console is 18/6/2004 as well.

Ok, I just got my hard modded 2TB xbox finished. I started to play 007 Nightfire. I beat the first level, I go to save to the xbox HDD, and the xbox takes me to this screen. I have saved in other games and never had this problem. It does save to my xbox memory unit fine. Any help?

Hello gents This afternoon I received original Xbox 1.4 purchase from eBay. I turned it on. And stayed on for about 30min. Then I when head with Tsop. After that I run this Xbox for few hours. Transfer ninja pack, and enjoyed games for some time. Turn back on after dinner and red light start flashing. Normally I would say over heating, but I'm not sure. Well have managed to sell the 3 blue and silver Xbox with led, Perspex window to allow you to see game spinning. Also sold the red and silver rock star Xbox plus the custom Ps2 with flip paint leds and cut out base and top. Currently have flip paint Xbox with temp lcd panel, leads, upgraded drive etc plus 3 crystal modded Xbox with lcd screen. All on eBay when these are gone I will sell 1 of the flip paint X3 Xbox with lcd screen.

I have heard that if you pull the power plug on the DVD drive, when you start up the Xbox you get error 12. Is this unlocking the HD? If you then unplug the HD, both power and the IDE cable to plug into a PC does this relock the HD?

Hi everyone, i have an xbox with a strange issue. i soldered the tsop, one i had to do alternative soldering because the tin went of the 2 points. it boots once when the board doesnt have power for a while, then it freezes when loading hexen. sometimes it doesnt even turn on, it powers on, beeps, powers off, beeps and red and green lights pulse. i didnt even flash it yet. could removing the clock cap cause this issue?

I've been in the facebook group for a while now, figured i'd get in the forum too, finally got a crystal today (1,6) after wanting one since i was a teenager and seeing one at one of my friend's place!
