I'm selling a refurbished Xbox 1.1 motherboard Whole board is thoroughly cleaned Brand new low impedance capacitors installed New, improved and reliable Wurth Electronik 3F clock capacitor. Lasts much longer on a charge Heat sinks re pasted with MX4 (shh, don't tell prtscn ) 8x2 LPC header added Southbridge heat sink added with sticky thermal tape I'm asking £40 for this motherboard. For that price you're getting a heavily refurbished and reliable motherboard. Never have to worry about capacitors for decades. Install and forget! Optionally I can pre-install the D0 wire if needed. (No modchip will be included, so make sure you have one ready if D0 is soldered) Additionally I can program the EEPROM to your needs. HDD Key, Serial Number, Online Key, Region, NTSC/PAL, DVD Movie Region and Time Zone. A copy of the original untouched EEPROM code will also be sent to you in case of an emergency. Please utilize this service within reason. Preferably I'd like to ship within the UK only please. If you're from abroad be prepared for some eye wateringly high shipping.

Hi all, I have been trying to install a Jafar xblast socket edition in my 1.4 xbox with no luck. The xbox boots fine when d0 is disconnected so fairly sure my issue is localised to the LPC. I have gone over my soldering to confirm continuity and voltages I've noted: -Pin 2 I have 1.6k ohms to test point the in the attached diagram but 0.2 ohms to the screw hole ground point. does anyone know where the pin 2 trace runs on the top of the motherboard? -Pin 12 has 12.5 ohms to the test point. I have also checked voltages on the LPC all my pins read correctly except pin 5 reading 3.3v on its first boot then 2.2v and finally 0.15v. Any advice on where to look next would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, i have an 1.6 original xbox with some peculiar problems, first of all, i just got an OG controller, everytime the console is on idle on dashboard, when i try to connect my controller, the HDD shuts off randomly, and when i turn on the console with the controller already connected it just turns on fine, until i'm playing a game and the controller vibrates, the HDD goes off too, also something that i noticed is that, i can't even play a game anymore, everytime i put a disk on the dvd drive, guess what? the HDD also shuts off, the weirdest part is that when i use the generic controller that i already have, it just works well, but i still got the same errors with the dvd drive. i hope someone can help me, thank you! cheers!

Apologies if I leave necessary details out by mistake - am very new to the Xbox modding scene and am learning as I go. Am happy to provide more info as I can. I have a 1.0 Xbox that had a Duo X2 TSOP modchip and 80gb IDE drive installed before it came into my possession. Haven't done anything from a software perspective other than FTP to the xbox and copy everything from the drive over to my PC. (Partitions were C,D,E,F,G, but D and G were empty) I originally actually thought the xbox was soft modded bc the boot animation/xbox screen look the same as factory but saw the chip when I was replacing capacitors/thermal paste. I have a 160gb IDE drive I want to use as a replacement, originally I burned the Rocky5 extras disc and used it to install chimp, then I went through the whole hot swapping method. I was able to get into chimp, it was reading both of the drives and according to chimp at least it cloned successfully with no errors, but now if I plug in the new drive the xbox just freezes on the Xbox/Microsoft logo after the flubber animation. No error code or anything. The original 80gb drive still works fine if I plug it back in. I picked up an IDE to usb 3.0 adapter today, is it best just to hook up the 160gb HDD to my PC and use fatxplorer to reformat the drive and then just copy everything over that I FTP'd from the original 80gb HDD? Am a little bit lost here and any pointers would be appreciated!

Hi, I have a modded original Xbox with coin-ops 8 on it. I was playing a game on coin-ops 8, and when I exited the game by pressing start and back on the controller and got back to the games list, the game had disappeared. I don't know if I maybe selected something on accident or what. How do I get the game back? Is there a way? BTW I'm pretty computer illiterate and don't own a computer. I also hit the black button to access the full games list instead of just favorites and the game is still gone.

Hi all! I've noticed dashboard and emulator skins for the original Xbox have slowly started to disappear and the few links you can find are those crappy Mega links with the ad assaults. SO, I decided to start and add an original Xbox Skin Archive to my site and host downloads for them for free to all! You can see it here: https://www.tinker-mods.com/original-xbox-skin-archive/index.php I took the liberty of getting screens shots of everything so you can browse them and just download the ones you like the best. Everything is in 7z (7zip) file format and ready to install in the skin directory of your dashboard/emulator after you extract it! Right now I have a little over 50 skins I've added but would love to add more. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE EMULATOR SKINS PLEASE!!! If you do have any you would also like to submit for me to add then you can go here and contact me : https://www.tinker-mods.com/contact.php Lastly for the skins I do have if you know who made them let me know that as well so I can add proper credits to the creators! If you are a skin maker yourself I would love to add your work to this archive too! Just keep in mind I won't automatically add everything, such as inappropriate themes, etc. Anyways I hope people enjoy this!

I am seeking help from the Jedi xbox council So I have a v1.0 128 upgraded. Controllers were working no issue on stock dash and cerbios dash when I had my smartxx v3 chip installed. I switched to open xenium and controllers work fine in xenium os no issues at all. As soon as I boot into dash I can press any button two times then xbox freezes. I have switched ports I have switched daughter board. Same issue plus same on another xenium and a alladdin xt chip. But xenium os no issue with controllers at all. Now I did not install the smartxx v3 chip it has lpc header which includes pin 4 somehow. Could pin 4 installed be the issue causing controller to freeze the xbox in xbmc but will boot and work with unleashx. I cannot run any games or emulators on my drive after two controller button presses xbox frerezes. I have tried 4 authentic controllers so far and it still does same thing. I can boot into unleashx and it doesn't freeze, but as soon as I try to run an emulator or game it freezes. I am at a loss

Aside from the power connector, the other reason for regular 3.5inch DVD drives not working is the firmware. Couldn't we copy the firmware from the Xbox drives eeprom? On some Phillips drives it's even conveniently socketed. I even read the eeprom in my xGeku yesterday and it isn't blocked out or anything, or at least it looked like it was all there? Seems like it would be easy to flash it onto a modern dvd drive. Or at least the segment of code meant for the Xbox. Could this be a possibility?

Hi everyone. I'm posting now hoping to get some help with my Xbox. I haven't used it for 5 years and I took it out again 3 days ago and now it started doing what's in the video (link at the bottom): the image glitches and goes black. When this happens, the power and eject buttons do not work at all and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it from the socket. By the way, it's a v1.1 XBox. If anyone has any idea what could be the problem, I'd appreciate the help. Here's a link to a video showing the issue: https://streamable.com/rsie40

A fellow forum member recently decided they would stop hosting their repo of Xbox apps/homebrew software, I was given the opprtunity to clone the repo and will now host it myself. The link is below. Original Xbox Repo Although this is a fairly large collection of OG Xbox software past and present it may not be fully complete/upto date. I am unaware exactly when the last time @RetroEmulationNation updated it. So, if any of you have any other apps/software etc that you notice are missin from the repo them please forward them to me via pm and I will get them added. Credit will be given to anyone who contributies anything. I will host on my onedrive for the foreseeable future and eventually will push the whole lot over to archive.org. Thanks @RetroEmulationNation for all your work in putting this together. It is very much appreciated.

Hello, I'm contacting you because I'm stuck: I've recovered an xbox in poor condition but I'm gradually bringing it back to life. It's an Xbox 1.1 PAL, which now boots on the MS dasboard! The hard disk is almost dead, the dvd player seems ok (certainly dead belt) I also think the power button is dead (in any case it doesn't work) Once on the dash I can access my USB key and launch the Rocky5 softmod, I get the green orb, reboot with multiple light, then black screen with red circle. I can launch endgame, which launches just fine. My need is to recover the EEPROM to change the hard disk and hope for a second life for this xbox! Thanks for your help

Hi everyone, I have a 1.4 board that I bought loose. I bought a lot with several xboxes and they all have FRAG. Now I just want to try to fix this 1.4 so I bought a power supply that I received yesterday, the console turns on but has FRAG. I have a reader and a hard drive from another xbox that I can use to test. I have 2 aladdin chips but I don't know if they work. The power supply is tested and works. I have many rp2040 and I tried to program one but it doesn't work or I don't know how to make it work. The 1.4 board doesn't have bad tracks or swollen capacitors. I'm quite lost, I've never had an xbox with FRAG (50% green 50% red) without video and I don't know where to start. In the same lot there was a 1.1 xbox with the same symptoms, but in the end I sold it very cheap.

I have a Xbox with 1.0 board, it got a 128MB RAM upgrade about one year ago. The first months this console worked fine. After that, sometimes it won't boot up, the video output stayed black and the LED solid green. Most of the time let it sit for a day or so, it returns back to a working state itself. Once it happened that the screen froze after starting a game and restart it resulted in the black screen/green LED. But the next day it was fine... The problem can never be reproduced intentionally. If I disassemble it immediately when it's not booting to see something is wrong, it boots... and if it boots I can left it on for hours without any problem. Tapping the unit when it's running doesn't make it crash. Some time ago I swapped the PSU with another 1.0 unit and the problem still exist. There are no bulging capacitors on the PSU or mainboard. I left the unit on a storage shelf for weeks and now putting it on the bench and connect it... and it boots and plays fine. I have the feeling that the problem mostly only occurs when I have placed it in the TV furniture and do not want to move it again.

I bought a modded xbox a few years ago and I really enjoyed it. I got it out to test recently and it stopped working. Got a flashing red light on the power button and got this error message with a white number in the corner. Most of the time I tried it was a 12 but I got 7 a few times. Is there any way to fix this?

Hello everyone First wanted to say thanks to this forum, I have gathered alot of useful info here. Now onto my dilemma. I have two OG XBoxes one is mine from when I was a kid and softmodded way back when. It is still softmodded, however after lightning struck our house, the network port hasn't worked in over 10 years. This is a version 1.4. So I was ecstatic when I found a second OG XBox with controllers and a bunch of games a couple years ago for $20 at a rummage sale. This is a version 1.2 I removed the clock capacitor from both of them before they could do any damage and confirmed both to be working after doing so. Recently I decided I wanted to mod the new XBox and bought a Xenium Nemesis Modchip. I got everything soldered into place pretty easily, and went to boot it up and to my horror got the start three times then flash red/green with no video output. I went back and double checked my solder points, everything looked good, then I saw it.....somehow a large solder splash landed on the R7T2, R7T3, R7T4 resistors. Hoping for the best I removed the solder splash (it wasn't fully attached) and ensured the resistors were still soldered to the board. Tried booting up again...same behavior. And my journey began.... To keep things clear and concise....here is a list of everything else I tried with no change in behavior. Tried with and without the modchip Removed the d0 wire and modchip Reflowed the modchip lpc connector Installed the modchip into my old XBox, quadruple checking for splashes, and it works just fine and boots into PrometheOS Scoured the board for any bad traces or fried/missing chips, additional splashes, none found. Cleaned entire board with rubbing alcohol Used compressed air to blow off board. Swapped power supplies, both work on good board Checked the LPC pin voltages, everything matched the below page except pins 5 and 10 read 0 volts, not sure if that's because it's FRAGing or not. https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/239-lpc-diagnostics-v01/#comment-945 Followed the traces from the LPC pins to their respective points using the baldbouncer image on the above page and they all check out to no resistance Compared the resistances between the new(bad) board and the old(good) board and they match for those three resistors. R7T2=1.8k, R7T3=5.3k, R7T4=4.7k Replaced the 6 CPU capacitors using the kit from Console5 Reapplied thermal paste to CPU and GPU Use hair dryer to warm up the board (saw in a youtube video it helped with some bad capacitors) Here is a link to an album with several close up pics of the motherboard: https://photos.app.goo.gl/GbRpT2M8hbqE2grm7 So my ask is, is there anything else anyone can think of, or do you see anything of concern in the pictures that I could look into? Ultimately I would just love to have a modded XBox with a working network card, so I might have to just give up on this board and keep looking for another. Thank you for reading my novel!

I bought an Xbox from an excellent technician — a PAL Xbox with a hardmod, Cerbios BIOS, XBMC, SATA adapter, and a 500GB HDD. I uploaded 4 games via FTP. Two of them work perfectly, while two result in a black screen. All these files run perfectly on another Xbox with an EvoX BIOS from the same technician and an IDE hard drive. The problematic games are Thief: Deadly Shadows (2.5 GB) and Curse: The Eye of Isis (500 MB). They appear in the regular XBMC menu and in dvd2xbox. These are PAL versions, and I’ve tried launching them in PAL, PAL-60, and NTSC modes — always a black screen. I’ve re-uploaded the games several times, re-extracted the files, ensured the file names are short and without special characters, and FileZilla confirms that everything is successfully transferred. The games are placed in the F folder alongside other games preinstalled on the Xbox. I’ve also tried changing the UDMA speed — nothing works. What could be causing this issue, and what can I do to resolve it? Thank you!

I want a V1. Name your price. I won't go higher than 5k and that is an absolute top limit. I have a V2 but I'll still pay up to 3k for that.

There's a few games not working on faster cpu. Does anyone know how to get Return to Castle Wolfenstein (NTSC) to run with a faster cpu ? (1 ghz, 1.4 ghz) ? On startup it dIsplays the first copyright screen and then it freezes just before loading the ESRB notice. HDD spins down to low activity. Same result happens if I use xbepatcher on the default.xbe. On my stock xbox this game runs just fine.
