Alright Now my xbox is softmodded with unleashX. what emulators work best with the xbox?

Hi - I ordered a Star Tech IDE to SATA connector and have a spare 500GB SATA drive - will the IDE cable in the xbox work as it is a 500GB drive or will I need to invest in a 80 Pin cable?

I'm new to modding and basically have near zero computer knowledge. I downloaded and unpacked Eartwormjames's 212 pack and I'm a little lost on where to put everything. I'm running the Rocky5 emustation and have a few roms sets running, but the 212 pack is giving me a headache. I'm using filezilla and have moved the roms from the roms folder to the n64 roms folder on my xbox, they are recognized but I get black screen when trying to launch a game. I'm assuming the surreal6.0 needs placed somewhere, or that maybe the 212 pack needs placed somewhere as a whole? Any help, as always, would be greatly appreciated. Going from no computer experience to the xbox mod has been a pretty steep learning curve.

have a v1 xbox with a bricked motherboard now. So now I need a way to rescue the game saves off the drive. the xbox had two drives with unleashx , the original 8gb and a 120gb copy. will need a way to unlock it via pc and without knowing what the original password was that i assume the motherboard had

I managed to get an Xbox from a thrift store for free, however, it boots up to an error screen with a number in the top-left corner, 12. I've tried searching online and have found it to be related to the disc drive. I've checked all the cable and have even swapped it with another one, that works. Yet, it still refuses to get past the error screen. Help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I was wondering about this new dumb newbe question. Do I have to hard mod my original Xbox for me to put in a bigger HD in it? From what I could find on the internet the answer is yes, but I came across other videos that say no. So now I am confused. Also when I soft Mod my xbox the ring not turns green at start up, but when I get the menu it turns yellow? Everything works fine, plays games fine and stuff. Should I be concerned about this? i currently have an xbox that has never been modded but is missing the original hard drive. is there anything i can do to put in a new hard drive so i can soft mod the machine in order to tsop it? all help is appreciated.

Trying to mod an xbox, I believe it is version 1,4 0r 1.5 . has winbond tsop. already soldered jumper points, it will not read a burnt copy of hexen. do I need to softmod it first?

So I recently put an xbox into a PC case, and now its fragging. I have some questions. Does every single mobo hole need to be secured for grounding reasons? I have 6 in and its very sturdy. the pads on the bottom of the PSU are also contacting the same metal as the mobo like in the xbox. Its possible one broke in the procedure but I was very gentle. Any info will help, thanks

Hi everybody, first time here in SO long. I've had a modded Xbox since 2003 which I just turned back on after I heard out about the clock capacitor problem. Mine was ok (I was able to remove it and clean up alright) but having it back on I've found the hard drive to be quite loud and maybe not running so great. I wanted to replace the hard drive but I'm not sure if my old Chameleon modchip throws a wrench into the tutorials I've been looking at. If possible the method of hotswapping the DVD drive with the new HDD and cloning the original drive seems easiest. Any suggestions before I start fumbling through this are very much appreciated! And I have all the stats on my current setup if needed. Thanks so much for the help!!
