I've watched a number of videos of PS3 motherboards with the user attempting to remove the CPU, if they didn't preheat the motherboard at 100c for 24hr the board would popcorn due to internal moisture boiling/escaping, ruining the board. Does the OG Xbox need the same prebake before attempting a hot air removal of the CPU?

Ive had a good sort out, I have 3 working tsop'd boards f/s, a 1.0 (with gpu fan and controller daughterboard), the other 2 are 1.2 and 1.4 (i think!), all have cerbios flashed to them, £25 ea plus post ppg. Other bits available on request, got 5 decent green jewels, loads of fans, case screws, controller ports, drive cables, front power boards, unlocked stock hard drives, basically anything from the original xbox apart from anything dvd drive or casing related (i do have a couple of plastic bases tho). also have a 1.6 board that has an Aladdin chip fitted, works fine but cant ftp to it for some reason

Is the extra unpopulated fan header on the motherboard (the spot where 1.0's plugged their GPU fan into) powered? I think those pads are missing on version 1.6, but I think Microsoft left them on the 1.2 to 1.4's.

I've two 1.0 motherboard sets (ie. motherboards, controller daughterboards and power supplies) for sale. Both have clock caps removed. Both working - no issues. One of them has some clock cap damage (namely C7G6 missing). That cap (C7G6) is part of clock circuit so as long as you don't plan on bringing back the clock cap it's not used and not needed. Price for the lot: 50 Euro plus shipping (I'm in Ireland). Shipping to UK should be around 5-10 Euro max. Other EU countries - please ask.

Title says it all. If you have a dead motherboard, I'll give you $20 to ship it to VT, USA. Save on shipping by pulling the heatsinks off beforehand. I don't need them. I need the motherboards for reverse engineering purposes. I'll also buy intact non-working consoles for $30 shipped, but that's probably not worth it for you. I'm not made of money, so there's a limit of 5 per month. I'll be happy to put you on a waiting list and let you know when I have the funds, though.
