Hey all. i hope you can help. My 'Project Xbox' (V1.4) which i generally tinker with has an Aladdin X2 running IND bios. All my other Xbox's are either soft modded or have Xceuter 2 installed. I've never tsop'd a console and was thinking that i should give it a go and move the Aladdin X2 off too one of my 1.6's that has been soft modded. Can i boot to dash, pull the chip and then flash the tsop? Assume i have already bridged the 1.4 mobo ready for a tsop flash? ( This box, like all my others has a failed DVD that doesn't read discs. so need to do all this from the xbox itself) And... what software should i flash with? Thanks heaps

Hi all, I have an X3 modded box that I have been painstakingly adding the Xbox game collection to over to. Last night while testing a few games the screen froze and when I looked at the Xbox I had a flashing red led. I assumed I had overheated for some reason and so I went to bed and left it to cool down. i have just switched it on again and it’s stone cold and still had the flashing red led, also my x3 chip is always disabled. Anybody have any ideas what’s going on? Im going to take it all apart and rebuild it again see if that helps. The last mods I did were to replace the fan with a Noctua one and to replace the thermal paste on the cpu/gpu. This was few days ago and it’s been running fine until now...

I tried to mod my Xbox by doing the solder bridge mod to reflash the bios, I am now getting a flashing eject button red and green, I removed the solder bridges already, I also removed the capacitor for the clock. Any ideas what I can try to fix this?

Hey everyone! So I have a 1.1 xbox and I know that some of the motherboards are different and you may need to soughter different points as a result of that. Can anyone send me details on how the different boards look and what are the proper points to soughter? Help would be appreciated!

Ok guys I've spoke to chaos engineer about this on Reddit a few times now and he guided me the easiest way to fix but it's now troubling me as to WHY it's occuring as it's never before now? Chip 1 and 2 Ones a 2.3b Lite With markings the other is a 2.3b Without ANY markings. 'Will update with Pics later'. Now I can make a 1mb BIOS with x2 5035 and M8Plus and switch between the 2 using the PCBs fine. But when hexen / skaters flashes it only creates 1 BIOS across both banks my guess here is hexen is creating a 1mb and flashing all 4 banks? I've done everything a normal install would do. Boot on bank 1 - Flash Bank 1 with Bios A. BOOT on bank 1 - Switch while on rhen flash bank 2 with BIOS B.. BOOT on bank 1 - Flash with BIOS A Boot on Bank 2 - Flash with BIOS B Each of these methods BOTH leaves whatever was the last bios flashed as the bios on both banks. Bear in mind the switches work FINE IF I make my own bios and flash within EVOX. Also Ind Bios no matter which struggles with these chips with stuttering which can't be changed or helped even with config changes. Yet M8Plus boots so fast it's actually shocking. Especially since both are SATA with 2TB hdd's. One using Startechs adapter one using a VBEXY? and yes I've switched adapters. I've switched 80 pin IDE cables. (ASUS one required 0 mods actually happy even though it's only 18 inches. What's the best course of action. Flash x2 5035 and M8 Plus 67 manually and leave? Both need f:127 g: Enabled IIRC.

I got a system in today from eBay (of course in "Perfect Condition") except when I powered it up it had a Flashing Green Ring / Won't Fully Boot or Read Disc. I opened it up and found that nice dent in the DVD drive. Swapped out the drive and it worked fine. Thanks for the assist Blake!

Only recently ive been looking at this manufacturing proces part where they get the kernel on the motherboard. It states that But I do not know if this is said based on the observation mentioned or based on internal Microsoft or flextronics manufacturing personal. A bed of nails (pogo pins) should and probably be used to connect the write enable pins on the motherboard to enable the flash writing of the then onboard tsop. I do not know for sure if this is posible but I rather for now asume it was. because we cant flash tsop today whne the xbox has been booted from LPC (modchip boots can only flash modchip, not the tsop, even of you remove the modchip prior to flashing) Connecting to lpc and connecting the write enable lines using pogopins could be done, altho I dont know how they would write to flash from LPC. the MCPX doesnt allow flash write in a LPC boot right? maybe a unkown mode? anyway, pure onboard tsop writing by connecting to the tsop directly would be a pain, but posible with fine pitched pins. not sure if the board would allow that with the mcpx on the same wires. All logic I can come up with is that MS would send their kernel to the tsop manufactorer and let them preprogram all tsops before soldering. then at the factory MS could use a bed of pogopins and a "recovery disk" to install a newer kernel if they wanted as long as the xbox booted from tsop. any other sources or interviews that claim or verify either side are welcome. movies and pictures of this proces too. most details I know came or will be added to: http://xboxdevwiki.net/Manufacturing_Process

So you got one of these suckers installed in your 1.6 xbox, me too. Change the stock HD for a 500GB one. I got into the xenium os from boot, and loaded retail dashboard to change the clock, spot on. Rebooted back to Xenium, and loaded Evo, and setup my ftp ip, and noticed my hd only registered 129gb,well i was having non of it. So i ftp'd xpartioner 1.3 over, ran it and it told me i needed lba48 version 2, hmmm. Now this part is what i found online after massive searches and swearing bouts. Remember the usb lead you got for softmodding, well your gonna need it again with your flash drive. put your Hexen disk into pc and extract the bios file. The one you need for the 1.6 is (evox.m8plus.v16.fc.137.bin) put this file as is onto your flash drive. Plug drive into xbox, and boot to xenium os. select launch menu, and add new item, pick flash and select your evox file, name it give it a colour, and launch it. Job Done if you get any problem give us a yell.
