  1. D0 grounded is an intended operation to control where the MCPX loads the BIOS on startup. D0 grounded (0) [Parallel Data bus bit 0 = 0] load the BIOS from an LPC connected flash memory chip. D0 [Parallel Data bus bit 0 = 1] load the BIOS from the parallel attached flash memory chip on the motherboard. The first byte of the BIOS has the value 09. If you don't force the D0 data bus line to ground, the D0 bit is HIGH. Thus, telling the MCPX to load the BIOS from the TSOP parallel attached flash memory chip on the motherboard. Edit: Based on that info - D0 controls where the MPCX loads the BIOS from: TSOP parallel attached flash memory chip (D0 = 1) or LPC attach flash memory chip (D0 = 0). I wonder if D3 also controls some operation of the MCPX on startup.

    VGA BIOS list

Which Neoya VGA adapter do you have: X2VGA or X2VGA 2? Edit: I believe they had another revision too. I'm not finding a link to it right now.

    VGA BIOS list

There are TRUEHD VGA XBOX Bios Collection and Force 480P Xbox Bios Collection v3 archives attached to @Viggen66's post in the Made a HeXEn 2018 Update thread. List of BIOSes in Each Archive Also included are patched EVTool and XBTool apps to allow a user to make changes to the settings of Evox and X2 BIOSes.
  4. The LED Designer is a PC application used to create the dot led or dot xled file(s) for the Xenium OS, not an application that runs on the Xbox.
  5. Partitioned / formatted the hard drive for CerBIOS or other modified Xbox BIOSes with LBA48 support? IIRC, other modified BIOSes cannot access a partition formatted for CerBIOS.
  6. A short press of the power button boots from the selected bank of the modchip. If you hold it too long, the modchip is disabled and the stock BIOS (TSOP BIOS) on the motherboard loads.
  7. Try downloading these two files from xbox-hq.com: XeniumOS Skin Pack 1 XeniumOS LED Designer v1.1 P.S. I posted these links in reply to your reddit post too.
  8. The modchip is working. Otherwise, the Xenium OS background and other information displayed would not be displayed on the screenshot posted. However, the HDKey stored in the configuration EEPROM along with the hard drive's model and serial number used to cryptographically compute the unlocking password displayed did not unlock the hard drive. Edit: With a modchip, the hard drive does not have to be locked; however even with a modchip, if it is locked, it still has to first be unlocked before content stored on it can be accessed.
  9. From your Xbox's symptoms, it sounds like the configuration EEPROM contents are corrupt or the chip itself has died. Xenium OS can boot with a corrupt EEPROM; however, stock and most modified Xbox BIOSes will NOT. Result - a flashing RED eject ring. Does the Xenium OS have a backup of the EEPROM saved that you can Restore? See Xenium OS 2.0 User Manual page 11. Which version of the Xenium OS is installed on the modchip?
  10. What replacement dashboard were you messing with its settings? What settings were they? You need to know what you are doing before you go changing things. Download the OGXbox Installer 2021 v1.5.4 disc image archive, extract then burn the disc image to DVD-R media. Boot it. Reverse the changes you made to the settings by editing the configuration file for the replacement dashboard you messed up.
  11. Yes, make sure you obtain the correct version US power supply - there are three different models for v1.0/1.1, v1.2-1.5 and v1.6 revision motherboards.
  12. Yes. The configuration of the video output mode - PAL or NTSC - is stored in the configuration EEPROM and can be easily changed once the console is modded.
  13. No. The TSOP flash chip uses a parallel data bus instead of the LPC data bus to transfer data to/from the chip.
  14. Sounds like your Xbox was already hard modded? Softmod and hard mod don't work together. Install only one or the other. With both, you end up going to a blank screen when you expect the replacement dashboard to be displayed. Boot the OGXbox Installer 2021 v1.5.4 installer disc and check the kernel version that is installed - Press the Y button on the controller to display the System Info page. What value is displayed for the kernel vresion?
  15. Why are you getting mad at us? We are trying to help. However, softmodding incorrectly doesn't work as you have found out. Learn from your mistake. Did you do what Rocky5 said to get your Xbox in its current state? Do you have a USB-to-IDE interface adapter? You can use FATXplorer 3.0 beta on a Windows PC to unlock the hard drive with the manufacturer's MASTER password for stock hard drives. Next, replace all of the files on the Xbox hard drive's C drive with the content of the Clean_C_and_E_FIles_for_Xbox.7z archive's C folder. Then, use the Build v1.1.9 / Xbox Softmodding Tool.zip package's content to re-softmod the Xbox with one of the supported exploitable Xbox games. However, you could install the files extracted from the Xbox Softmodding Tool's Build v1.1.9 / Installer Variants / XBHDM Build.zip archive instead. This file set installs a no-original-game-disc-required bootable Xbox Softmodding Tool installer onto the hard drive. After copying the files to the C drive, disconnect the hard drive from your PC then reinstall it in the Xbox. Power on the Xbox to boot into the softmod installer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the full softmod installation.
  16. Do you have another Xbox DVD drive? Swap out the current for a different Xbox DVD drive. Error 12 - kernel - DVD parameters (PIO/DMA) missing. The Xbox could not obtain information from the DVD drive installed in the console. It may be bad and preventing access to the hard drive, thus error 07 - HDD timeout.
  17. What text appears under the big X logo at the end of the startup animation? Microsoft or XECUTER2 You must place all of the files and folders from the clean C and E archive's C folder onto the C partition of the Xbox hard drive, not just xboxdash.xbe. There's 167MBs of content to be placed on the C drive. https://www.mediafire.com/file/95s2c0tf8873dyb/Clean_C_and_E_Files_for_Xbox.7z/file
  18. See if you can access the Xbox Softmodding Tool's built-in backdoor if the dashboard gets messed up: Hold Start+Y on startup
  19. You don't. It is installed when you run the Xbox Softmodding Tool installer using the exploited game save file to run it.
  20. This error occurs with the original Xbox 8 or 10GB IDE hard drive? You will see this error if you upgrade to a SATA hard drive and use the stock 40-wire 40-pin IDE cable. With an upgraded SATA hard drive/IDE-to-SATA adapter combo, you must swap out the stock IDE cable with a high-speed 80-wire 40-pin one.
  21. NO, the hard drive is not locked with an all 1's or 0's cryptographically computed password. That is, if you did not use the NKPatcher Settings app to modify the HDKey and relock the hard drive using the associated password computed for the updated HDKey value. From the factory, each Xbox has a unique HDKey stored in an 8-pin 2048-bit (256 byte) serial EEPROM (configuration EEPROM). The unlocking password is computed each time the console boots by reading and decrypting the HDKey stored in the configuration EEPROM and reading the hard drive's model and serial number. This computed password is then sent to the hard drive via an ATA Security command to unlock (gain access to) the hard drive's content.
  22. You can use a Raspberry Pi or Arduino to read the configuration data from the 8-pin serial EEPROM chip on the motherboard. For a v1.6 motherboard, it is at location U7D1. A 1.6 is a it more complicated to read the data. You have a short time after you power on the console to read it before it becomes inaccessible. I believe the I2C bus gets flooded with data read/writes which prevents an external device from having a chance to read the data from the EEPROM. Reading the configuration EEPROM data using dtomcat's PicoPromSD The next EEPROM Reader/Writer - Hardware Mods - OGXbox.com Raspberry Pi and PiPROM: GitHub - grimdoomer/PiPROM: Read/Write an original Xbox EEPROM chip with a Raspberry Pi Arduino and one of several sketches available at github.com: GitHub - ExtraordinaryBen/DuinoBoX: An Xbox EEPROM Reader GitHub - Ryzee119/ArduinoProm: Original Xbox EEPROM reader and writer. Based on and inspired by the awesome work by Grimdoomer on PiPROM
  23. All of those solder joints on the LPC Debug pin header look like cold solder joints and some are not even making a connection to the pad on the motherboard. Reflow them all. See: Common Soldering Problems | Adafruit Guide To Excellent Soldering | Adafruit Learning System
