I had trouble with this also. I ended up using Hazeno's files for that emulator. All I can say is make sure you have the right emulator, there are 2 different ones, and an option to use bin/cue/iso in the settings. Hazeno is on the xbox scene discord if you want to ask if he still hosts his drive. I reformatted my pc and forgot to save bookmarks. His whole Emustation pack is maybe 150GB.

Messed up TSOP flash EvoX splash screen than black screen
NokSueCow replied to SplinterCell's topic in TSOP Flashing
If your stock hdd is a WD, FatX should be able to unlock it without the eeprom. Seagates still need it. I'm not sure if FatX unlocks all WD drives or just the factory 8GB ones. -
Rockys keeps your stock key, but it does backup your eeprom during the softmod install. Nkpatcher Settings is installed by default and the key is changed there, if desired.

Those sound familiar. When I did the Homebrew synopsis, I remember those being in the description of something. I'll look tomorrow. There are a handful of Wolf3d ports, I was confused while making the list. Th0mas, XtecuterX73, A600, Wolf3s, Andre, all worked on them.

XBMC4Gamers User Guide.... in need of updating.....
NokSueCow replied to nikeymikey's topic in XBMC4Gamers
I forgot to reply to this thread, but Cian is the one who created the original Excel formulas that I used in my Synopsis project. There was a change for Gamers that messed with the Artwork scripts?- 3 replies

I got a few used Samsung 850/860 Evo 2TB's off ebay and upgraded the old 60GB SSD to run tests with. The 850's only have 7TB written, with 50-75k hours. The 860's have 45TB written, 30-38k hours. They are very similar, as both saturate the sata connection, the 860 just has a much larger warranty at 1200TBW vs 150TBW, faster DRAM, newer controller, and slightly higher speeds. Upon the brief research I did for SSD's, it appears that MLC vs TLC isn't that big of a deal now, people say that the TLC of the 870 Evo is just as good as the MLC of the 860 Pro. Below are the results of just the 850 Evo, I'll do another test with the 860 Evo later. The most noticeable improvements over the old OCZ 60GB SSD is the initial boot time and X4G IGR, but I've since updated Cerbios BFM and X4G since, so those updates may have helped. It's strange that Halo 2 lost a second, but I currently don't have v1.5 installed, so I can use trainers. I may have had v1.5 installed on my old test, not sure, maybe v1.5 has better load times. The reason I got these specific drives is because I read that you need DRAM when using SSD's on the xbox, and these have 2GB. I'm not sure if my old OCZ has any. Here's an old spreadsheet that I found useful to see if something has DRAM. Samsung SSD Info... 850 Evo 2TB - 2GB LPDDR3 DRAM, TLC, 540/520, 150 TBW, MHX Controller (Todays Test) 860 Evo 2TB - 2GB LPDDR4 DRAM, TLC, 550/520, 1200 TBW, MJX Controller (Future Testing Required) 860 Pro 2TB - 2GB LPDDR4 DRAM, MLC, 560/530, 2400 TBW, MJX Controller 870 Evo 2TB - 2GB LPDDR4 DRAM, TLC, 560/530, 1200 TBW, MKX Controller (The latest version, 870 Pro doesn't exist) 3TB 7200 HDD 3TB 7200 HDD 60GB SSD 850 Evo 2TB SSD UDMA 2 (Mode 4) UDMA 5 (Mode 32) UDMA 6 (Mode 64) UDMA 6 (Mode 64) Console Off to XBMC4Gamers = 36 seconds 34 seconds 32 seconds 26 XBMC4Gamers to Emustation = 16 15 Not installed 13 XBMC4Gamers to UnleashX = 51 50 12 12 (225 Games Installed vs 1043 games) XBMC4Gamers IGR = 33 32 25 16 UnleashX Soft Reset = 18 15 14 14 XBMC4Gamers to CoinOps8Massive = 12 11 Not installed 10 XBMC4Gamers to Xenon's PS1 Pack = 15 14 Not Installed 13 XBMC4Gamers to Xenon's NES Pack = 16 14 13 13 XBMC4Gamers to Halo CE (No Trainers) = 27 25 25 24 XBMC4Gamers to Halo 2 (No Trainers) = 34 32 29 30 XBMC4Gamers to Def Jam FFNY (No Trainers) = 26 24 21 22

That's the exact version I use, works great. I forgot where I got it. If Leonv worked on it, it should be pretty good. His Surreal pack is great as well.
-
Here it is. He has FBL on there. Its 170MB, so doesn't include the v1.26 rompack. I'd have to see where I got it from. This is his thread from Emuxtras. Gradius3 has a FBL v1.24 pack that's 10GB on his Emuxtras repo, it should include the romset and artwork, but isn't the latest v1.26.
-
LeonV may have what you need on his repo. I'll look tomorrow to see. I think he has N64, FBL v1.26, and MAME stuff. I had to format my pc and didn't think to backup my chrome favorites. I'll see if I can find his page.

Does anyone make these? Do you just order the pcb and 32 misc parts, solder them, and run the software? Does it have any play in the slot, or is a 3D case required. I have Chimerics usb controller adapter and it's snug, no case needed.

You can burn Rocky's Extras disc and install it that way, or ftp the Extras Disc.iso and its attacher.xbe to your Apps and launch as a virtual disc. The iso and xbe need to be in the Extras Disc folder, then ftp it over.

Can you test thermals sometime? My 2TB gets pretty toasty, I'm curious about the temps. I wasn't aware of Nemesis' adapter. Does he have a site, or just facebook?

Can large cluster size affect HDD speed on the XBox?
NokSueCow replied to PRince404's topic in General Xbox Discussion
I never got around to confirming this or looking it up, but a while back on the xbox scene discord someone mentioned that theoretically, larger clusters may have better performance using Cerbios. I've no clue around what month it was, or who said it, but it was interesting to hear. -
A user on emuxtras.net already made them. https://www.emuxtras.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6284 I messaged them last month or so and they said they may be starting to make more soon. I sent a message after, asking if it was OK to convert them into Xbmc4gamers format, but they haven't responded. I don't want to take credit for something I didn't make, I was just wanting to add the missing view types.

Is it possible to have the Right Thumbstick control the music playlist volume like X4G? It only Seeks, unless I'm doing something wrong. I accidentally found a bug I guess earlier. ES allows you to skip to the next audio track a lot faster than X4G. I skipped quite a few and the audio quit playing. I couldn't reproduce this in X4G, as it has a delay between button presses. In X4G, if you have it set to load into Root and need to stop the playlist, pressing B instantly reloads the dash and playlist. Is that possible as well?

What's the best neo geo emulator for the Xbox?
NokSueCow replied to TheXboxMessiah's topic in General Xbox Discussion
I haven't tried any, but Unleashed seems good. Lantus ported the original, and GogoAckman added iso/mp3 support later. Rocky said he uses it for Emustation, but this was 4 years ago. -
Windows has a search function for that, just type in '.zip' and copy/paste the roms to a new folder instantly. If not zip, they should all be the same extension.

You downloaded the Prebuilt version from his Github? https://github.com/Rocky5/XBMC-Emustation Can you post a screenshot of your folder directories, I'm confused. The games and emulators populate on the carousel, but don't play. You downloaded the emulators off the Downloader?

It sounds like I need nfo files. They are the equivalent to Xbmc4gamers resource folders, it seems. I'll have to find the proper layout and make a test xml file in Notepad++. I figured GoT would've already had Metadata available. I'm probably doing something wrong.

I'm trying to learn this dash, and watched the old youtube tutorials by Team Kodi, but can't figure it out, they use SMB instead of the xbox hdd. I installed Red Vs Blue S01E01 and Game of Thrones S01E01, but neither show up in TV Shows. I downsampled both with ffmpeg, and they play great when manually selected in File Manager. This is what my folders look like. When adding the TV Shows source folder, I selected TV Shows, and a tv show scrubber populated, so I feel that part is correct. I'd like to not have to rely on the database scrubbing, and just manually install all that stuff, if possible. If the xbox ever loses internet, I want it to be the same experience with full synopsis and thumbnails.

The Custom Tiles appear to have been changed somehow. They used to snap to the Options tile, but now appear in Alphabetical order, right after ColecoVision. It's been a while since I updated so not sure when it happened.

Repackinator and creating CCI's for V8 Supercars Australia games
NokSueCow replied to phrunt's topic in Applications
They're in there, just named different. Vimm's has the CRC checks to compare against Repacks database. They're in the Alt Database. Select Process Selection 'None' and Scrub Selection 'None'. That will deselect everything. Then at the top, switch to the Alt database, search Title Name for 'race'. Tick the 3 in this image, that match Vimms CRCs for those 3. Change your Output/Input folders and it should work. The ones from Vimms are xiso, so you can also drop the 3 xiso's in your games folder in XBMC4Gamers, and run the 'xiso to hdd' script, to generate the xbe's. Leave them as single files, no folders before running it or it won't work.- 6 replies
