  1. Mmm, so all Aladdin Mod Chips come flashed with a 1.6 Bios then? Because I think there is 1 guy in my country who sell those! Cheer Dave!
  2. Crap, no solution there, not even Kaosengineer could do it... Well, I will continue, if I find a way to clone my HDD, then I will let everyone now for future archiving.
  3. I am using the latest Chimp version from the Softmodding tool DVD. When I start Chimp, it passes the first too checks correctly, only after that it tells me that it could not allocate resources, etc. I am using the correct Sata to IDE adapter with the 2 capacitors and the Slave/master pin. I also used an IDE 80GB TB and they same thing happens. I am reading about Xboxhdm23usb now, because Chimp simply will not work for me, all me hardware seems in line, Chimp just doesn't work.
  4. Can I flash mine? I have a 1.6 Xbox. And in my cuntry I guess it would be impossible to find Modchips. Thank you, you are great to have, I have put so much work in this and so much time, and nothing works now that I have all set up I am also using a 80 pin IDE cable... Cheers.
  5. I am using a Sata to IDE adaptor. Tried 2 HDD none worked, both set to slave. And then I remembered that I had purchased an 80gb IDE HDD. So I checked that HDD and NO! It does not work either! I uninstalled Chimp and then reinstalled it. What the hell is happening! By the way I have nulled the HDD and my hard drive is a 40gb Maxtor, with many partitions (for cache I guess), I bought it and it came softmodded already, but I upgraded my sofmod using Rocky5 DVD. Honestly I don't know what else to try, I do everything correctly. Please help me guys, there seems to be no one home today
  6. So yeah guys I finally was able to build a composite cable out of another shitty chinese compenent cable. Now I got chimp to show on my screen, and I do everything right but I get this error: Cannot allocate resources And also other similar messages, what does this mean? Is my HDD incompatible, or is it something else? Please guys, I really need some help now, and did I tell you I almost destroy my finger today (it is in bad shape though), the same finger I burned when making the component cable hahahhha, the same hand I also broke some years ago. But please I need your advice guys! Edit: Now I read and it says at one point "No controller found", even though I pressed A and it worked. I am using an original Xbox Japanese controller by the way. Mmm, I don't know what it is and I have done SO MUCH, and finally now... it just doesn't work...
  7. So guys, now finally after more than a month waiting, I finally got my Sata to IDE adapter. So, I am finally ready to clone my old HDD to the new one. The problem now, is that when I start chimp, I get a black screen. Thing is, if anyone in the forum knows me, I am from Chile, and I converted my ONLY original composite cable and converted it into a very amazing Component cable, using an original 360 component cable. So... I know that the problem Chimp gives me, is because I must use a composite cable. What do I do know? I know there is a way to clone the Xbox HDD using Windows, but I cannot remember how to do that. Cheers friends, and thank you. Edit: Now that I think off, I do have 1 cheap component cable and the left over of my original composite. Is gonna be a pain in the ass, but anyone has a composite cable diagram?
  8. Welcome Danbrad. If you are thinking in putting a big HDD in your Xbox I tell you right away, do NOT buy the chinese cheap brands (SATA to IDE adaptors). Why? Because they might or might not work, but for me is the fact that I purchased one of these adapters on Aliexpress and it is still stuck in a chinese warehouse for 1 month now, and I paid for the shipping, not free shipping. If you live in the US, I recommend you to buy the Startech Sata to IDE adapter, they are good quality and the shipping is reliable. Don't do what I did! Cheers.
  9. Hehhehe I am planting the seed, yes remapping would be great right? But you are right, no one here is demanding anything from Ryzee119 but we cannot help being interested in anything that can be done Cheers Lotec25 and welcome to the forum.
  10. On my Xbox, which is softmodded, there is absolutely 0 issues. So your issue is 100% due to your modchip. Well I guess you probably know that already Honestly I just hope Ryzeee119 can be let off the hook for a while, so that at a later time he can figure out some remapping options for the controller/board. Well, I am sure Ryzee119 also likes to tinker around with these things like we do also, but still.
  11. Don't want to clutter the forum, but I really feel is needed to leave this, this is a copy of my Feedback on Etsy (I replace his name for the one in the forum): "This is just amazing. I cannot say how thankful I am of Ryzee119, he was super understanding, the product works perfectly fine. I tested any lag, and it doesn't have any (I tested on Soulcalibur 2, 2 players, swords will hit each other). Also the package came very fast to my country, which was not expected (because my country mail service sucks). I am really happy, and I am excited to see wich new features Ryzee119 could add in the future to the board (let's be honest I asked Ryzee119 for button remapping or analogue sticks reversed X and Y) Nonetheless, thank you Ryzee119, you made me happy, you were great to me, Hector Hidalgo."
  12. Simply use Rocky5 DVD and install MS DASH as an application. Then you simply start that application from within Unleashx or whatever dash is your primary, and change the language. I also fixed my connection to the Internet that wasn't working, by trying to connect to Xbox live on the MS DASH, and then I could use my ehternet connection perfectly on Unleashx, etc I hope those "tips" help you.
  13. Well, he can sell it whatever price he wants! We are in a free world. But it doesn't mean that someone will be stupid enough to purchase at such a heavy price! Supply and demand, if there is no demand, he will be stuck with his ridiculously priced mod chip forever.
  14. Yes it works! But actually I was trying to find a filter. With both XBMC4gamers or the application called FlickerFucker you can actually get rid of most of the filter! Now my image looks even sharper! Is great but I would only use it on a HDTV, on my CRT the standard flicker filter inherent to the Xbox is preferable, because it stops the flickering from the interlaced 480i image, so you want it ON (that is the 5 filter option). For 480p or more, I highly recommend lowering the filter to 2, 1 or even 0. As progressive outputs don't suffer from the flickering of 480i. Cheers!
  15. So that is my question, If I have MS dash 5960 from Rocky5 DVD (installed as an application) Do I still need to delete dashupdate.xbe? (from games) I have Rocky5 latest softmod and no hardmod on a 1.6. I have also heard that some games don't run if you delete dashupdate.xbe or downloader.xbe, is this true? Thank you so much, and I am sorry for so many questions, I guess it could be useful for people in the future. My regards and thanks to all, Hector.
  16. Thank you very much Kaosengineer! Only thing I found was gay porn and some other stuff when googling My regards, thanks again Kaos.
  17. Anybody has the software called Flicker Fucker? I cannot find it anywhere on the Internet and I needed to test some games etc with it. I lookek in the Xbins, but I could not find it either, official website is down too. Thank you so much.
  18. Really? I use Unleash because it has a bigger interface for my CRT TV. But I will try what you say! What XBMC do you refer to though XBMC4GAMERS? Or standard XBMC? Thank you neighbor! My best regards
  19. So yes, there is my question. Could there be a way to force AA (Antialising) into Xbox games? Here is the thing, I finally got my Xbox working with an amazingly good component cable, and now everything looks so sharp that it became a jaggy mess to my eyes. But there is one game (that I know of, there must be more) that uses AA, that is Beyond Good and Evil, it uses a very effective AA, so much so that even my CRT looks better (tons better). Could there be a way to implement this? I mean I truly believe the Xbox would be more than capable. Beyond Good and Evil runs like utter crap, with very bad framerate on the PS2, and with less effects, lower resolution and no anti aliasing to speak of! And the Xbox version not only runs at a better resolution, it also has more effects, better textures, runs rock solid and on top of that has super smooth AA (which at the time was very GPU demanding). So that's why I know this could be possible for Xbox games, at least at 480i/480p, but how to implement such a thing, would be the hard part! Let me know guys if there's anything like this! Maybe something like this already exist? Cheers to all
  20. Yes, honestly I don't know about how good or bad chinese adaptors are in reality. All I know is that my shipment is taking 3 weeks now, and the shipment is stuck. Thing is, its better to buy locally if you can, or through Amazon. I used Aliexpress, in summary is just better to stay away from anything that comes from China, it would be bad quality or it would take a VERY long time to arrive. Cheers.
  21. If you are going to replace the HDD, be sure to use a good quality Sata to IDE adapter like this Startech branded one: On Amazon I have seen it at a good price. I didn't know this before I purchased my cheap chinese one, and I regret because is taking months to get to my country. So, remember this advice, avoid chinese crap. Also try to get an original component cable for the Xbox, 3 party looks like crap on the Xbox, is not like other consoles were you can just use any 3rd party component cable and is fine. The Xbox only looks good with official microsoft component cables, or making your own using a 360 component. Cheers and welcome!
  22. Hahahhha yes maybe you are right! hahahha I honestly wasn't sure were the digital audio cables went and as I never was going to use them, I said, let's stick to the tutorial (if I wanted to finish this decade). The good thing is that the ground that was there for the composite yellow came in handy, and I soldered to the metal plug to ground everything correctly. It's weird now it looks so sharp on my TV, that I kinda miss that cheap antialising effect that composite used to give me! Hahhhaha My best regards Junkman77 and thanks again.
  23. I had to do it right! I had only shot in doing it correctly, no more component cables in the whole country here for me I did burn one finger though I was also very excited to do something much better than the guy who just slapped a ton of hot glue in the pins, and finished it there (Youtube). How ugly and ridiculous! Well, I wish you the best this week Dave, take care.
  24. Yes it is, and like I said before it was hard because the OG Xbox plug/case doesn't let you work because of how close it is to your iron and cables. But i did it! I checked each and every cable before finishing, found 2 that were making contact (that is 4) fixed that then 2 more that came loose (weak soldering job), fix it. Then check again with my multimeter and everything was perfect. So at the end after checking and rechecking (not on the Xbox, why take the excitement away) I added a little of hot glue on each side to make it all a bit more resistant. Rebuild the metal case/plug was also very hard, because the xbox original composite metal case where the pins go, is very sturdy! To summarize I finished at 1AM. But then I plugged in, and it worked!! Hahahha I was so happy. It looks amazing on my CRT Cheers Dave.
